Met my granddaughter for a "welcome home from college" lunch. Had a nice time. Nice service. Her 1/2 chicken and fries were too much. My sliders were great. Creme brulee which we shared was too large.
Summer patio is open. Great atmosphere with terrific food.
Gibsons is our go to restaurant for every occasion we we are out in the suburbs! I have never had one complaint!
We enjoyed thanks until next time xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
A great time is guaranteed at this restaurant. Can't wait to go back.
We loved our server. Amy Tu. My crab avocado appetizer was amazing and very fresh. Mushroom soup was yummy and not over salted. Great food, as always,
I go to Gibson's a lot. I hold meetings there. I entertain there. I keep going there because their food is great and their service is even better.
For me there are really two minor negatives far outweighed by the positives. The fact that there is a valet is nice, especially if had been raining, but making it almost mandatory is not great considering how much space exists in Oak Brook. The other minor negative is the fact that there is a bathroom attendant, there was nothing wrong with said attendant, I just feel overall it is a dated practice. By far the food, the ambiance and the drinks far outweigh these minor elements. I got the WR Cut and that is an unbelievable piece of meat my partner got the surf and turf and the petite fillet she had was amazing.
Always a great place to go for some amazing food!
Overall a very good experience. We were celebrating 2 birthdays. Both of us have been to the Chicago & Rosemont locations many times. Our server made us feel special and made some great recommendations. The food is top notch, with the crab cake as delicious as the steak.
Only complaint (and we never said anything): our server, without a doubt, made it seem that our dessert was on the house. Then the bill came and well...$8.75 later - not comped.
What an amazing meal....expensive but delicious
Food and service were excellent. We went on a Saturday evening (8:30 pm) and it was very crowded and terribly noisy. Tables were too close together. Perhaps a weekday would be less crowded and less noisy.
Great food, and outstanding service They handle large volume of customers very well.
We went for our 10 year anniversary. The food was great and so was the service! Will definitely come back. There was a DJ in the bar area! And he was playing hit after hit!!! It was a great time all around!!
all 9 of us had a great time and enjoyed the food. Service was super..
The outdoor seating is gorgeous, it’s a must!
the only thing I would say is that the server should ALWAYS know the ingredients on the plates. one of the ladies at our table ordered a salad and she doesn't like blue cheese and there was blue cheese on her salad.... the server brought out a fudge sundae to compensate but the server should have known the ingredients were on the salad when asked.
First time dining at Gibson's. Disappointed a bit with the entrees, as the Prime Rib was rather bland and overcooked for medium, and the filet was just OK for the cost. Attention to detail matters, as one suggestion would be for the wait staff to consider wearing gloves, change the paper bone covering when handling the Tomahawk Chop at multiple guests tables, and also putting a clear dome cover over the platter of steaks for tableside presentation. Disappointing from a presentation standpoint for an upscale establishment where our visit unfortunately didn't have as good of a first impression as we expected. Maybe we'll give it another try one day.
We were very disappointed with Gibson's. We dine at steak and lobster restaurants frequently and this was our first time at Gibson's. The steak was unflavorful and the lobster was extremely dry (and $125). I have never paid that much for lobster anywhere and for it to be dry was infuriating. We sent the steak back for a porch chop which was fine, but we didn't come there for pork chops. We will not be back.
I get that it was Mother's Day but don't get greedy and take reservations or walk-ins that you cannot accommodate. Waited almost 45 minutes past our reservation. Service was lack luster and no one was really attentive to the tables. Tables were crammed together and for those larger groups there was no elbow room. Felt a little bad for them. Food was good. Should have stayed home. Less aggravation, less money and would have been happier. Then they tried to say I was a no show for the reservation.
We had a lovely time sitting on the patio... the kids where able to move around freely, staff was great and the food excellent. All around a wonderful Mother’s Day outing.
Everything was amazing! My porterhouse was perfectly cooked. The mashed potatoes were delicious, and last but not least the servers were very tentative. I really enjoyed myself.
Server was very nice and courteous..Managers and hist made us feel welcomed..We will be back soon..Thanks
The food is fantastic and overall very elegant and the best
Our family had yet another outstanding meal at Gibsons in Oak Brook. The service is always excellent and delivered by a professional, knowledgable staff that never fails to impress. The food is consistently exceptional and the atmosphere is lively and very enjoyable. Come prepared to be impressed!
Love Love Love Gibsons. Always perfect !!!!!!!!!
Great food and attentive service. The crab cake was amazing,
I frequent Gibson’s with my family. I took the President of our company here for dinner and her cell phone was stolen while she was in the restroom... a bit embarrassing.
There is no better place for a meal when the patio is open with the waterfall.
wonderful outdoor eating and excellent service .....I don't want to write more...so please just accept what I offer
This was the second time I had been here. First time was with work and this time was for our anniversary. This time it was a lot more casual, noisy and unrefined than the first time. I was slightly disappointed. The food was great and service was ok. The waitress knocked over my husbands beer, picked it up and that was it. There was still beer inside and they didn’t replace it or comp it. I was really surprised. We were seated right by the door by the patio, so it was noisy and really hard to focus - there were so many distractions and so much noise! Spent $200 on dinner for two but didn’t feel like a $200 worthwhile experience. Wish this had been as good as my first time there.
One of our favorites but always very crowded. Seated promptly outside table and great to people watch. Our waitress was doing too much. We had to ask for bread and a glass of wine was forgotten. My steak very salty and I sent it back. They were gracious about that and I received a replacement very quickly. I will return
Server inattentive, impersonal for price paid. Food not hot when served.
Great time! Love the patio!
Whether on Rush or in Oak Brook Gibsons always delivers. The best steaks in town combined with exceptional service and ambiance always makes for a memorable evening. The patio in Oakbrook is the best al fresco dining in the Western suburbs.
Excellent food for reasonable prices. Good bar, nice restaurant and very pleasurable outdoor dining.
We were celebrating Professional Admins Day a week later. Everything was great from the food to the service we received from Jacqueline. Thank you for making my lunch special for these special woman.
We had a lovely lunch with friends outside on the patio. We were a little disappointed that the waterfall was not working, but we will return again to sit outside in your beautiful patio.
