Our server was the best food was awesome

8:30pm reservation
8:50pm seating -- a little better service from the hostess would go a long way towards welcoming guests -- guests should not be treated like we are bothering the hostess
9pm -- drink order take
10pm dessert order taken, may wish to remind the waitress to the customer
that the chocolate mousse and carrot cake slices are massive and easily could be
shared by four people
11pm -- bright lights turned on throughout the restaurant signaling it's time to leave --
this was a very rude ending to a typically excellent dining experience at Gibson's -- certainly not in keeping with the style that Gibson's is known for -- this was right out of last call at a dive bar

Always a fantastic meal at Gibsons. Service was exceptional.

service was slow and uneven. went thru effort of securing reservation and was sat at a hi-top table in the bar. Probably won't be back.

Everything was professional, friendly, from meet greet dine and good bye. Thank you for a lovely experience.

Been to Gibson’s many times as always GREAT SERVICE great place but this time the food was a little off. It was really good but not as good as usual and I dont know why.
The steaks got to our table a little cold maybe that was it. Not cold but not hot.

However hard to be critical when the service and experience is the absolute best. One experience like this will not deter me from going if back. I believe it was a one off minor moss.

Service was aloof. No refills of soft drinks. We had to keep flagging the waiter down. Door was perfect.

Great service and food.

We chose Gibsons to celebrate two birthdays and my son’s confirmation. Everything went well. We had a great server and as always the food was great.

It was my friend’s birthday and I felt VERY rushed throughout our entire dining experience. I was literally still eating my salad when the waitress sat my main course down in front of me right in front of my salad. They kept asking if we needed to-go containers and we told them 3 times we were still working on our meal. They didn’t offer me a dessert menu AND I was rushed to pay the bill.

Spectacular! Top notch food and service! Never felt covid unsafe or at risk. Amazing experience!

Great food and service. Good attention to safety

The food took over an hour and 20 minutes to come. The waiter did not offer any refills or check much on us. The seating was not so good as it was getting very cold as the noisy workers were walking in and out the door outside causing wind to come through. There was no heat what’s so ever and I wish we were seated inside instead of next to the door during this winter storm. We heard workers yell in the background “if he’s not paying his bill then we got his license plate”. The steak was burnt not seared correctly. Maybe they saw me as a young guy with a. girlfriend that won’t spend a lot of money but I ended up spending $200+ as I value my experiences. Overall, I would say a fair visit but not some place I will recommend to my colleagues.

We felt very safe dining at Gibson’s in Oak Brook. Food and service were outstanding and safety measures continue.

The rib eye is second to none.

Steak and sides were great. Service was good.

We ordered a filet and lobster tail to share with sides. Plenty of food for two people. Asked the price of the lobster tail - waiter didn’t know. I figured it would be in the ballpark of the steak maybe a bit more....so I told their waiter to just go ahead and it started. It was $118 for ONE lobster tail - and it wasn’t any better than we make at home!

Go there for the steaks - if it says market price - make sure you get a confirmed market price before you order or just avoid it altogether.

We had the ribs they were burnt everything else was good

Love this place. Bar has a good vibe and food is top notch.

When we walked in for our reservation we were greeted cheerfully and felt very welcome. Once seated, we had to wait for at least 5 minutes to be acknowledged by our waiter. Our drinks then took another 10 minutes to arrive and it was clear that our waiter forgot about us. The service continued in that fashion, slow and inattentive. We ordered oysters which were delicious. The ribeye was great but the pork chop was over done and lacking flavor. We also had good but not great lobster bisque, mediocre brussel sprouts, and well prepared sautéed spinach.

Always great food and service

Gibson’s has been our restaurant from the beginning of our relationship. We went on our first there six years ago. Last night, we celebrated his birthday and it was awesome. He also proposed to me last night.

The reason for a lower rating on the food was I ordered a hamburger with a plain bun cooked medium but recd a medium well burger on a bun that was falling apart. I sent the burger back & rcvd it cooked medium however, it appeared to be the same bun & the fries were not hot. Lee ordered the Waldorf Salad and was disappointed w/the lack of fruit .. and was mostly lettuce .. the apple was only slivers of an apple. The server, Anthony, was excellent very polite & professional.

Everything was great -- the food delicious and our server was very helpful with the menu.
