Food was delicious! Horseradish crusted filet, Chilean sea bass and brussel sprouts were awesome. Great service. Love the outside patio.
Everything was fantastic.
My brother and I treated our father to Gibsons for Father's Day because Gibsons was on his bucket list of restaurants to try. We opted to dine from the lunch menu rather than to partake in the brunch. Unfortunately, the lunch menu available differed from what had been posted online. The lunch menu for Father's Day was limited due to the increased number of customers for Father's Day (so I was informed by our waiter). This was a disappointment for me because I do not eat before or pork, which already limited my menu options. I ordered the roasted chicken and fries, which was good. The chicken was moist and was well-seasoned. My brother ordered a burger with fries, which he said was good as well. Our father ordered a T-bone steak with a double-baked potato. He said it was the best steak he had ever eaten. He also loved the double-baked potato, and it was his first time ever eating one. We were provided with complimentary ice cream with chocolate sauce to share for dessert. Overall, we had a nice experience despite the service being a little slow. Gibsons is definitely a "special occasion" restaurant due to the price.
Another fantastic dining experience from a restaurant who takes the time to uphold time-tested traditional values. Other dining establishments would be well-served to follow the example Gibson's continues to set for service excellence.
We celebrated our 28th Wedding Anniversary. Excellent meal and service.
Great atmosphere love your waitress she was very helpful!! Thank you for the experience!
The food is exceptional and the service was excellent. We had meat and shellfish and one was not better than the other. The ambiance in the Gibson’s downtown is more fun than in Oakbrook. This is a very expensive restaurant so great for a special occasion.
My wife & I celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary here simply because outdoor seating was available & the quality of the food. Fortunately it did not rain & we we really enjoyed sitting outside with the waterfall Gibson’s has in their outdoor seating area. My wife really enjoyed the whitefish & I had a GGA New York strip steak which was excellent. Our waiter gave us excellent service.
Great service. Great food!
Not as good as usual. Gibson's is normally outstanding, this time it was "just" very good.
A wonderful evening on the patio at Oakbrook Gibsons. Food was delicious and server Roberto was very attentive and enjoyable. Always love when he is able to be our server.
Poor waitress service. Took to long in between check ins we wanted to order lunch... and it never happened. We just had drinks and apps. Was very disappointed
Always great.....food delicious.
We enjoyed our experience.
Keeps meeting our expectations in the areas of ambiance, service & food. We keep going back because it has been consistant over the years.
Best of the BEST! GM Johnny P and Manager Sil P are top notch! True professionals. Food amazing as always and fun crowd. I’ll be back...thank you.
Gibsons Oakbrook is our go to for great dinner. Close to home and consistent service and quality of food. Loking forward to our next visit.
A great restaurant. The food and service were the best. Everyone from the valet to the waitstaff was very attentive, offered suggestions when asked and made you as if you were their most important patron Rush street is also great. However, Oak Brook sure beats a trip into the city.
Our experience was dynamite!!!!
Always a good spot for a business lunch. Consistently good food and service.
The food was great the atmosphere was a water fall that made it calm and soothing.
The food and service was exemplary, as always, whenever we go there. We even got a little extra TLC for being our wedding anniversary which was most appreciated.
And going in, you always know you're going to pay more than necessary for comparable quality and service elsewhere, but the occasion was special.
I just don't understand why restaurants similar to Gibson's feel it necessary to price $50-$60+ for a steak, and then everything else is ala carte on top of that. We'd go more often if we knew we could have a good meal and service for two that didn't cost almost $200.
Yes, we'll go again, and I would recommend Gibson's, but only for a very special occasion, and not for the casual dinner out.
Out entire experience was perfect....from being greeted at the door to the celebration cake for our son's 21st birthday. Our server was wonderful! Great experience. Can't wait to go back.
First time at this restaurant and when we pulled into the crowded parking lot, even though we had a reservation, I was thinking there would be a delay in seating. I was wrong. We were seated immediately and had a great meal. Our server was professional and never rushed us, even though he was very busy. Our meals were perfect and his suggestions were right on.
Awesome food and great service! Gibson’s is truly the best!
Steak was overcooked and tough. Service was OK but waiter never checked to see how meal was when it came. Noisy table near us. Hard to converse.
Outstanding service and great food!
Waiters were very professional and service was very good. The food was also outstanding!
Amazing service (Rick), amazing food (definitely recommend the prime rib - melts in your mouth), gigantic, tantalizing desserts (ice cream turtle pie).
Food was excellent as was the service.
I’ve been to Gibson’s Chicago and Rosemont and have always been impressed with the atmosphere, the food, and mostly the service. I cannot say the same for the Oakbrook location. I took my wife there for a date on Friday night, and left dissatisfied and unhappy.
First, the server seemed to care less about us. Her menu walkthrough and general attitude toward serving us was something I would expect from Denny’s, not Gibson’s.
Second, the atmosphere. Some men were seated behind us and one man in particular was enamored with using the “F” word loudly. I’d expect this from Galways, not Gibson’s.
Third, (I hate to say it) the food. Don’t get me wrong the steak was second to none. However, the salad was not better than a Texas Roadhouse or Outback salad; the asparagus was plain and dry; and the baked potato well is a baked potato...you really can’t screw that up (the crab cake and shrimp cocktail were delicious as expected). All in all, I paid $210 for a dinner I wouldn’t pay $100 for ever. With the atmosphere and the poor service added to that; I regret even going.
You failed on this one Gibson’s; I’d normally give you another shot, but I most likely won’t.
Gibson’s meal, service and ambiance is consistently 5 star. Never had a bad meal and I like when the wait staff give you suggestions for pairing course to enhance the main course. We were not disappointed with any of the suggestions. Love this place.
Seafood was as good as the steak! All-around great time!
Food was wonderful and service was impeccable! Great location, complimentary parking could not have been better !
Pricey ofcourse but the steaks were perfect and worth the splurge. Excellent service as always
Food, service and outside area were all great. That is why I visit Gibsons in Oak Brook frequently.
Great service and food. Robert did an outstanding job!!
Our server was excellent.
Bone-in filet ordered medium-rare was pretty raw along the bone. Also, the lobster/avocado appetizer was simply not worth the price.
Gibson’s outside dining is a real treat and the service was great, as always.
