Gianni's Ratings and Reviews
What can I say about this beautiful place. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted graciously by really warm hostesses who proceeded to tell me how gorgeous I looked so I knew it would be a good night lol. We were seated on the upper terrace outside near the infamous pool shot you see all across your social media feeds. It was super romantic and knowing that this was the last place Gianni Versace lived, you get a chance to see and feel what his life was like... if for a moment. Our waitress was kind although we did feel a little rushed. For the prices, you would like a chance to soak it all in without feeling hurried. The menu is not too extensive but enough for anyone to find something. We had lamb chops and chicken and I think these were the smallest lamb chops I've ever seen. They were actual lolipop lamb chops and I literally finished them in 3 minutes. There waa a small portion of potatoes with them. Needless to say we left still hungry. BUT if you want to come for the sexiness of the place, the ambience, the history please do. It is an experience I highly suggest
Came here with my girlfriend to celebrate Valentines Day dinner (not on V-Day to avoid the big crowd haha) She ordered the Kosher Rib-eye which was nice and juicy but, was lacking flavor. I had ordered the Veal tomahawk which was very flavorful and cooked to perfection (medium-rare.) The truffle mash was amazing and for those drinking a Riesling, avoid the lemon sorbet dessert! It was the most sour thing ever with that combination. Overall, I'd rate the restaurant a 7/10.
Excellent food, even better location and ambiance. The historic Mansion is a do-not-miss spectacle. The service staff is not quite up to par with the overall quality of the restaurant. They were too attentive in the beginning but not with what we needed, and we kept asking for a desert menu because my wife just wanted the double chocolate desert, and they kept coming back asking for our order but not bringing the desert menu. then when she placed her desert order, I placed an entree order and asked them to bring them at the same time. They brought her desert right away and ignored my request. They were a little slow on all our needs, and then had to chase them down at the end for the bill. Overall we had a great time, and I really enjoyed the menu selection, and the cocktails were quality
You're really just paying for the location here, to be able to see inside the Versace mansion.
The food was okay, I had the filet mignon and it was on the salty side. The presentation was also a little sloppy. Kind of surprising for what you would expect.
There are some cats that walk around and kept pulling and scratching at our clothes/feet.
Not sure why they couldn't just pick them up and move them.
You would think they would hold their food to higher standards. It wasn't terrible, but not as great as you would expect it to be either.
Went for Valentines Day, and the service was just absurdly slow. Not that I was in a hurry, but if you've been seated, It's not acceptable under any circumstances to have your first sip of wine be thirty minutes after. It was 9:30 PM, and I think the whole staff had pretty much "had it" by then and appeared to be completely exhausted. Place looked terrific, really done up well. But they cut the music early, took forever to get out the food, and when it arrived, it was prepared incorrectly. I feel like the waiter never really listed to a word I said. And then they throw a 22% gratuity on top of it. I paid it and didn't mention it, but I'm a far better tipper on good service than that, and this type of service (that really deserved no tip) I would usually scale down to 15% (I could never leave no tip). The appetizer was terrific, but steaks were awful, even sending one back. No manager came to check on us, which surprised me especially since we sent something back to the kitchen. Really, they could have cared less if we were there or not, and it showed in the service levels and the quality of food presented to us.
Perfect Valentines Day Venue. Also great for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, or any special occasions. Great atmosphere, menu selections for all type of dinners, and the food was very, very good! .......and just knowing that Versace lived there! A wonderful experience!
My husband and I went for Valentine’s day. I could say that if you want a romantic place this is the one. I guess everyone there came for the place not the food. The food was just passable. Nothing to rave about but like I said before? The romantic atmosphere, the guy playing the saxophone made up for the fair tasting food,
I really wanted to doubt it, I really wanted to give them a chance but it’s a sad tourist trap. But that’s the neighborhood. Pop by for the view and drinks but don’t expect much. Getting a good service is a lottery .
Dirty water glasses (replaced by a wine glass when pointed out!),dirty table cloth, no butter knife, unkind greeting at the entrance (agressive question ‘do you have a reservation), unkind and mediocre table service (at least the one person who was serving us, we could compare as we saw and heard way better multiple times, at every other table), should I mention dirty uniform?
Furctgecgirdt time in US I met a waiter whi doesnt know What „à point” means.he really doesnt enjoy his job.
22% service fee added by definition but deserved only by the kitchen (except for The microwaved berries, c’mon whole foods is just a few blocks away) and hostess. If they try to put you in a room inside- just leave. Seriously not worth it. You will miss the only thing worth your money in Gianni’s. We planned a nice, long dinner with wine. Due to the way we were treated right from the start we skipped wine, drinks as kept it short as we were not enjoying it at all. +200$ later we happily left and enjoyed the rest of the night away from south beach.
I could continue but they are not worth anymore of my time
It’s just sad what’s going on there.
Just as a tip - if you have a brave guy who plans to propose to a women on her BDay, don’t put him in a far, awful corner inside.
Actually seeing this couple was the nicest part of the experience there.
I was extremely disappointed by Gianni’s. I regularly frequent high-end restaurants but the value of this restaurant is sub par. The portions are laughably small and the service was terrible. To give you an idea of how absurdly priced this restaurant is, we were charged $50 for water.
Went here with no intent of getting a good. meal. It was all about the ambiance which was great. The meal turned out to be exceptional as well. I had the Key West Prawns and my wife had the Bronzio. Both were excellent. Was it expensive? You Bet. But look at where you are.
Amazing Experience. We came to Gianni’s for our anniversary. I was expecting the house to be amazing but was worried that the food experience might be lacking. I was incredibly surprised to find the food experience to match the beautiful surroundings. The menu was solid, the prices were reasonable for the quality and the experience and the service couldn’t have been better. This dining experience was one of my overall favorites.
Dining here was such a nice experience. The house is beautiful, plain and simple. We were seating at a table on the side, near the pool. It was nice to not be in the mix with everyone else, but we still had a great view. The space just spectacular to be in. The food did not disappoint either. Everything we tried was very delicious.
