Server was fabulous! Our dinner was excellent from start to finish
Superb as always. Quality of meat excellent prepared perfectly. Attentive service.
My wife and I have date night every Saturday night. Gianni's is one of our favorite spots.
The bill is in the pricey area, however the food is well worth it and usually top quality.
We stumbled across the place by accident and it was wonderful. Great food, great atmosphere. We will be back!
Service and most of the food was great. However, ordered salmon that had a fishy taste. Not good at all and restaurant didn’t comp our meal even though we took only two bites.
Awesome meal as usual. My wife and I always enjoy going there. Can't wait until our next visit again. 😎
Amazing food and service as always. Even though Gianni’s have the best steaks in town we went with the seafood fare for Lent and it was just as good. We had a variety of the Halibut special, King Crabs, and Scallops. All spectacular
Great service Ryan, and please thank your colleague for the help with the wine.
Expensive and poor service.
The steak was perfect! Great place to celebrate something special.
FOOD IS THE BEST SERVICE IS ALSO VERY GOOD
MY FAVORITE STEAKHOUSE IN THE TWIN CITIES
As a repeat customer, Gianni's never disappoints. Consistent in great food, service and ambiance.
I booked Giannis for my husband’s birthday with my two college age sons. We were greeted and seated right away. Very nice atmosphere Our waiter arrived and we asked for assistance with a wine selection. He was not helpful and did not appear to know anything about the wines. He pointed to the section of Chardonnay’s and wines by the glass. We ordered the foie gra and calamari which were delicious. We also ordered the table side salad which was prepared nicely and was very substantial. However the waiter assumed we had ordered this before and acted condescending when we indicated we had not had this before. The rest of the service continued downhill. Entrees arrived too close to the salad and were literally thrown onto the table. I thought the sauces were going to fly off the plate. The food was delicious, and prepared excellently. We felt very rushed throughout the meal. We were asked several times if we were “still working”. Plates were removed before everyone was finished. The level of service for the prices were not in sync. There are many other steak houses in the area with professional service.
Always the best!
Excellent service and white table clothes without feeling snobby. Steaks prepared exactly to request. Waitstaff provided excellent recommendations.
Server Rosie was excellent.
We had a 6:30 reservation and were seated immediately. Dusty was attentive and able to recommend dishes and beverages. Food was excellent. We had two filets, one dry aged steak and one pork chop entrée. Side dish of potatoes really delicious. One key lime pie to share for dessert a big hit. We will be back!
Our first visit to Gianni's was on St. Patrick's Day. I credit the noise level to the bar full of Irish (or Irish for the day) revelers. I would guess it is not normally this loud. Great service from our waitress, Tessa. She was friendly, informative, and timely all night. My grass-fed filet was cooked as ordered and very tasty. My wife enjoyed the sea bass special. We found the chilled shrimp to be a bit overcooked, but still flavorful. We had the creamed corn as a side, which we enjoyed. I would have loved to try their specialty side, potatoes papallete, but seriously, $20 for a side dish? We will return again and hope they have a special on the potatoes papallete. :-)
Good food and service.
Unfortunately the food was not on par for the price. Steak was fine but the rest of the meal was not. French fries said to be fresh cut homemade were clearly frozen and overcooked.
Always wonderful food and service - great staff and fabulous atmosphere!
sat at the bar, the bar tender that waited on us was fantastic, great recommendations
Our first time at Gianni's was great. Our server, Camille, was super. She was so helpful in explaining the various steaks and in giving her recommendations about certain menu items. We will definitely return to Gianni's.
We were celebrating Valentines Day, our anniversary and my wife’s birthday. Food was fantastic and the service was awesome!
The food was delicious. The hash browns were out of this world. The creamed spinach was excellent. We will definitely be back.
My husband and I weren’t greeted right away by our server which was no big deal when she offered us a free dessert @ the end. The key lime pie was AMAZING! The best we’ve ever had!!! :) our server was attentive and nice, we loved the place and the food!
Excellent meal and very good wine menu. The hash browns are the best!
Our waitress explained all of the specials and was very complete in our order and what we wanted. Food was delicious! We had the steak and salad!
Great service. Sea bass was perfect.
Absolutey awful! I am so sad to say this as Gianni’s has been our go-to place for fun family dinners for over 15 years. The worst things that have been done & said to me in a restaurant have been said & done here in the past 2 years. Last night brought that to a whole new height. We had been there 1/2 hour (and had ordered an expensive bottle of wine) when our waiter (Larry? Or Terry?) became annoyed because we weren’t ready to order. He said to us, “You know there are other people coming behind you.” We asked for our check so we could leave & free the table up for those “others coming behind us”. The manager talked us into staying.
I ordered the entree Spun Salad which is no longer prepared table side. What I received was a side salad prepared in the kitchen. Our new waiter said she would be too busy with other people to prepare my salad table side.
So, the moral of the story is : The waiters at Gianni’s are too busy to bother with you!!
This place used to be a gem & I have been unwilling to really see what’s been happening here for awhile now. As we all know, a bad attitude will kill anything.
Loved the early dining menu and experience. Food was wonderful- delicious, good presentation. Service was perfect. We will look forward to coming again soon.
Usually got the sirloin steak which is really good - this time went with NY strip - it was actually better than the sirloin - can't go wrong i guess.
We loved the food-- tableside salad with lots of add-in ingredients, fabulous hashbrowns, Walleye from the Red River tribe (?) and elegant sea bass. Vegetables were cooked to perfection. The meal was pricey but yummy! We asked for a quiet area, and we could hear each other just fine. Steaks looked great, wine list-- wonderful. It was a snowy night and we parked in the attached ramp, another plus.
Only disappointment was the potatoes. Tasteless & cold but the rest was so amazing we most likely couldn't have eaten them anyway.
Our server was fabulous! Great personality and wonderful service. Thank you!
My boyfriend and I wanted to try out Gianni's during restaurant week and had a great experience. The menu consisted of their signature spun salad, a filet mignon and 2 dessert options. All 3 courses were amazing and you couldn't beat the price.
I was extremely impressed with our server! He was acting as a server and a bartender and balanced the busyness well. I also have a lot of diet restrictions and even with the restaurant week strict limits of no substitutions, he worked with the kitchen to provide me extra asparagus and no mashed potatoes so I could still enjoy. He also couldn’t give me any dessert due to dairy issues and offered me a liquid dessert. I had such an enjoyable evening and no food issues there or after which was so amazing!
We went during restaurant week. Cute atmosphere, steak was delish but the dollop of instant potatoes threw the meal off.
I went to Gianni's for the first time during Restaurant Week, and I was very impressed. The service was wonderful, the food was superb, and I've never had such a flavorful, perfectly-cooked filet mignon before in my life. The spun salad is a delightful touch, and so tasty. I ordered a balsamic vinaigrette to go with it, and it was fantastic.
Also, if you like a good Manhattan, order the Double Rye Manhattan. It was absolutely incredible!
A very good overall place, great food, superb service, good ambiance
Had the Filet Mignon and it was wonderful with terrific aspargus. The mashed potatoes were blah and not as good as I thought they’d be. The caramel custard dessert was fabulous. The one complaint was the napkin that was surrounding the small pieces of bread in a cone container was very greasy smelling. Most unappetizing. Overall we really had fun and loved the food.
