Everything was the usual Giannis exceptional service, food, atmosphere. Giannis has been our favorite place in the Twin Cities for over 13 years due to their consistent great service, amazing menu and food and overall relaxing experience. Thank you!
Our food was delicious and the server was as pro. We enjoyed the pork chop, a fish daily special and the butterscotch budino for dessert. Highly recommend.
The steaks here never disappoint! Quality meats, great side dishes, delicious cocktails. We'll be back!
Great ambience, like an old style supper club, white table cloths everything. The prime rib that night was very flavorful
Meh. I expected to pay more but with that I expected better food, service and drinks. It's what you get as the only steakhouse in a wealthy zip code.
We had a totally legendary experience. Our server Linh was amazing (as always). Our food was amazing (as always).
We consistently have a good experience at Giannis.
The spun salad is a must try, as well as the hash browns.
Steaks are religiously lovely.
On this trip, we had an issue with a bottle of wine being past prime. Quickly resolved by management.
Thank you Giannis!
We reserved a booth. They initially offered us a booth right next to the door. It's winter. Why do places always do this???? There was another booth back inside the center of the restaurant. We had to ask for it. Steaks and other food were excellent. Service by Juan was very good.
Pricey, but everything in this restaurant is done correctly. We always request a booth so that it’s quieter. Works for us. Our server was fantastic And she let us know that it’s possible to get some things in a half order. For instance, the side potatoes were a $20 item and when I balked at that price she suggested a half. Much appreciated And we still had quite a bit for leftovers.
Great experience as always. Service was great and food perfectly done!
Service from the reception to wait staff was excellent.
Food was good but bit pricey.
Overall, nice intimate atmosphere but on the bit noisy side when they are full as they are on a weekend.
I was celebrating my fiancé‘s birthday. I ordered the special filet which was good. Wish I had ordered a more flavorful steak, not Giannis fault. My fiancé ordered “the king crab legs”, exactly as I just stated. It was clear we both ordered a meal. We’ve never had king crab legs before, so unaware of portions. They were phenomenal.
When the bill came we noticed the waitress had put in the order for two pounds of king crab legs at $70/pound!!!! We were shocked. $140. We were shocked the waitress did not clarify which portion size, and assumed the larger more expensive option. I’m not sure if this was a ploy at a larger tip or how she is trained.
We asked a close relative (waitress at high end restaurant) what should have happened in this situation. Her response was that the server needed to clarify which portion size, especially at that price. One should NEVER assume on a customers order.
We paid the bill and gave a 20% tip without confrontation. We did not clarify the portion size and had no idea what 1 lb vs 2 lbs would look like.
The best food and the best service! It was the perfect spot to celebrate my husband's birthday.
My wife and I had dinner here for a Valentines dinner (day after actually). My wife had petite filet mignon and I had the dry aged NY strip. We also had table-side salad and green beans. My wife enjoyed her filet and we both enjoyed the salad. Server was very professional and friendly. My very expensive NY strip ($60+) was disappointing. I ordered it medium rare and while I guess it was done to medium rare, the steak was charred quite a bit, not juicy and and not flavorful. It honestly tasted like it had been previously frozen before being cooked. The green beans were soaked in soy sauce and were way too salty.
For a supposed steakhouse to serve a very underwhelming steak is quite screw up. When I think of steakhouses in the future, Gianni's probably won't be on the list.
Great as always. Be sure to get the potatoes and you cannot go wrong with their filet.
Thanks Terri and company!
Great place to celebrate a special event. Staff was so kind and celebrated with us.
Everything we had was very good. The steak, scallops, salad, bisque, and dessert.
Service was fantastic.
Prices are higher than what I typically will pay for a dinner; however, you definitely get what you pay for (good food and service).
Our first time here, and it exceeded our expectations. Beautiful place with dark wood and white tablecloths. The steaks we had we're perfect, but the tableside spun salad was a great treat! It was our anniversary, so the restaurant treated us to a piece of flourless chocolate cake with a candle, which was quite a nice suprise! Thanks Gianni's!
Betsy was the best
Outstanding service really makes everything else better.
Long time customer of Gianni's...always great!
Have highly recommended to others.
Best steak house, cozy, amazing service and food. Love Wayzata
Waiter was aloof, food was comparable to a chain steakhouse, price was not commensurate to quality.
Absolutely wonderful. Great menu and excellent service.
Great food - everything was delicious! Service was great - a little slow but we weren't in a hurry so it didn't matter. :)
Great server (Betsy)
Prime porterhouse steak was excellent
Mushrooms were perfect
Baked potato perfect
Spun salad expertly prepared at table side
Drinks were excellent
We sat at a table in the bar - and loved the appetizers. The lobster skewers were fantastic!
Everything was delish. Spun salad to ALL the sides to the Filet. Perfect!
The food was awesome, as always. The tableside spun salad is the best salad in the Twin Cities area, there's always room for the salad at Gianni's. Our server, Larry, is probably the best server I've ever met. He's very attentive without "hovering". He's congenial, very knowledgeable about the menu items and always has that ear-to-ear grin that makes you feel like he's a friend and not an employee. My wife and I have been dining at Gianni's for over 16 years, and somehow the service, food and ambiance has improved over those 16 years. Best in the Twin Cities!!!!
We were seated by the front door, and were blasted with cold air every time someone entered. We were moved, at our request, but placed right next to the kitchen. We were celebrating a birthday, which no one acknowledged. Our meal for two was $150 without dessert, wine or spirits, outrageously expensive. We won't be back anytime soon; better value for the money exists in many other venues.
It’s always a pleasure dining at Gianni’s. The food is always consistently amazing but the service sets it apart from all the other restaurants in the area.
Disappointed in service this time around, have had much better.
Had a great waiter and the food was outstanding!
Outstanding Steaks!!! Impeccable service, Whats not to like?
This was an anniversary dinner. I had placed that in the comments on line when I made the reservation. The Hostess and the waiter both wished us a Happy Anniversary and our Dessert was complimentary. Noice touch. The food (stake was wonderful. I gave only 4 stars for value - but that could be because it has been years since I have been to an excellent steak house and prices are different than they were back then. Best French onion soup ever.
Holiday dinner with bride and mom-in-law - Gianni’s is always great but they amped up the atmosphere for the holidays; beautiful and delicious!
Christmas Eve dinner
Wonderful evening, sitting by the door, cold air rushed in.
