Obviously the surroundings were absolutely stunning- there’s no comparison. The food was good as well. However, we went for Miami Spice month, and the presentation of the food was subpar- for example, our entrees were Filet mignon with truffle potatoes (both fabulous) but they were both just plopped on a plate with no presentation. The main issue was the service- it was the worst I have had in Miami. As soon as we asked for the Miami Spice menu, it seemed to be very much of a “you need us, we don’t need you” vibe.
Overall: ambiance; incredible. Food, great. Service, horrible.
I had the The Whole Fish Bronzino and it was mushy, taste fishy, the other dish ordered was Seafood pasta dish served in a bowl, just mediocre. I’ve dined at this restaurant in the past and the food was amazing. I’m not sure what happen unless they hired a new Chef however the food was awful. We sat outside near the pool good table location. There were so many flies flying around our table until dinner needed to be removed from our table. Only great thing about dinner was the outdoor table setting, pool view that created amazing pictures.
Gianni’s added a service charge to our dinner tab of $29. I’m thinking it was the gratuity, which is fine just make sure you can enjoy dinner without having a slew of flies flying around. Gianni’s is a really nice place but they must research how to eliminate flies while fine dining outdoors. Our server Isarael said, he would mention this issue to the manager regarding the flies. On another note they have a black cat still running around outside the restaurant and I had to mention my cat allergies and the cat was removed. Hopefully next time will be much better.
My girlfriend and I had reservations for our anniversary at 10 p.m. We arrived at 9:55 and waited until 10:45 by the time we got our food it was 11:30. I do not recommend this place at all. Overpriced for normal food. Our waiter was great and that’s the only thing good about this restaurant. The portions are TINY. My girlfriend ordered the lobster which said was $32 on the menu and she had 3 bites. Then, on the check it was $52. Complete rip-off.
Our whole experience was amazing, we enjoyed it from start to finish. You will have to spend a few $$ but it is worth it.
The place was Beautiful! Delicious food! Wonderful atmosphere! Great music!
First time dining and it was overall a huge disappointment. One of our guests ordered a fish dish. It was cold and had all sorts of fish bones in it. Another guest ordered the Filet Mignon dish and the meat was dry as hell. Definitely had better food elsewhere. We expressed out thoughts about the food and were simply compensated by complementary champagne on the house. Lol, we were non alcoholic people! So truly it was useless. The fact that the owner/manager showed no professionalism in the matter, was very disrespectful and disgusting. He should have paid a visit to our table. We will never attend again.
Gianni’s restaurant was the worst experience we have ever had. After making the reservation for seven guest with Open Table and explained it was Miami Spice menu for my husband and son birthday ,they confirmed, let us know about the appropriate attire. Never mentioned that they ONLY ALLOW FOUR GUEST to order from the Miami Spice menu! They told us once we were seated at the table and the menus was completely different than advertised. The manager Ray, who didn’t give me his last name, said we could split the tables. I asked to show me where it said that, they couldn’t find it nor show me,when I came back to the table my husband told me the chef came to our table, extremely rude and said the same. We never asked for the chef nor understand why he even came to our table. They were extremely rude, arrogant. We walked out and enjoyed a wonderful experience at the Lobster Bar Grille, which was very professional, great food. Also had a lot of options for their Miami Spice menu.
I’ve dined at the Villa before but not like this. The new owner is doing an amazing job! The ambiance, the music, the service was FANTASTIC! The only reason I rated food 4 stars is because of the side dish. I ordered the bone in ribeye with a side of mash potatoes. Most restaurants with this kind of price range have family style size side dishes for the same price and I got an ice cream size scoop of mash potatoes for $12 and they were far too seasoned. I left most of it there. They also didn’t have more vegetable side dish options. All in all it was worth the $$. You MUST have their dessert.
The out door area needs MUSIC!! It was deathly silent and felt uptight and stiff. If there was a little music it would feel nicer and more relaxed.
The food was amazing and the service was perfect. I ordered steak, pasta, and the chocolate dessert which was lovely. The drinks were also really good.
Food was delicious, small portions. Nice ambiance. Our server was kind, small blonde girl. A little pricey but it's expected because of the place.
Upon arriving the ambience was beautiful . We had 8:30 pm reservations and after placing our order we were informed they had already run out of the dish we had chosen , mind you the restaurant opens at 6 pm . My daughter chose a dish that contained octopus, scallops and shrimp , we asked to have no octopus in which we we informed they would not add additional shrimp or scallops in place of the octopus . No problem , but when her dish arrived she had 1 shrimp and all octopus. The manger came to see what the problem was and I explained the issue . He came back a bit later without the octopus and shrimp only and no scallops , we just let it go at that point . I had soup and a glass of wine and my other daughter just had pasta with tomatoes and we had a appetizer of burrata . It seemed after we had the complaint , which was done very politely , no one came back to ask about refills or anything until dessert was offered , we just skipped that . I’d say the ambience is absolutely lovely , just the food was subpar and for a restaurant to run out of food 2 1/2 hours in on a Saturday night is definitely a result of poor management. It’s way over priced , for the quality and experience . I’d say it’s interesting to see but don’t expect much as far as food .
I was nervous as I read other reviews. Some good, some bad. The mansion itself is amazing and awesome to walk through. The food however wasn’t the best considering you will spent at least $200 easy. If you do go pick steak
The hostesses were some of the most rude I’ve ever encountered. We were looking forward to visiting Miami and seeing the Versace Mansion for our anniversary dinner for months. It’s a shame because it is such a beautiful place with a gorgeous atmosphere. It’s clearly a tourist trap & money making scheme when you are told to arrive early for your reservation to get a good table only to be sent to the bar & made to wait an hour to have dinner. When we finally got seated it was next to a service station. When we mentioned this the response was that the tables beside the pool were for parties of four. We could csee there where either parties of two seated or empty tables. We did finally get seated next to the pool after complaining. We do have to give props to our waitress Latoya who did her absolute best to make up for all of this but to be honest it was almost too little too late and I personally felt like we were those difficult customers being coddled.
Very small portion of food! And they told me that the portion is big but when i got it it was very small!
Amazing restaurant, wonderful ambience. I loved it, the last place I went to in Miami, the best way to wrap the holiday up. A little bit of a wait to get seated but was worth it.
Very nice place historic and magic, the hostess was really nice she gave to my son and myself a nice table by the pool. Nice Bar nice atmosphere. I took pasta and my son a steak for him ok for me over boiled no sauce no salt except 3 cherry tomatoes on top. I took one fork and impossible to eat. And this morningI was informed that I did a no show ??? I was there unbelievable!!! Hope next time I will enjoy As i did previously
We loved the atmosphere and the food was delicious. However the linguini seafood dish was tiny with very little seafood. Poor value.
The hostess was terribly unhelpful when I told her it was my husbands 50th birthday.
The server was great though. He took our photo by the pool. And food came out fast.
Gianni's far surpassed our expectations!!! We visited the restaurant in celebration of my husband's 50th birthday. We didn't have high hopes for the food after reading online reviews, we just wanted to gain access to Versace's beautiful villa. The whole evening did not disappoint. We got a great table by the swimming pool. The earlier you arrive, the better access you will have to prime tables. The environment is stunning and we didn't feel intimidated to take photos to commemorate his milestone. We were able to have a leisurely meal and weren't rushed so that the table could be turned. The food was very tasty. Our server did an excellent job with the white wine service not pouring too much. Adding to the experience, our family with two teen daughters got to enjoy a young couple get engaged beside us. Thank you for a truly memorable night. We have beautiful photos that we will always remember my husband's special night. Bravo!
Ambiance is beautiful. My husband’s steak was very good, my pasta was average. Service was really bad; daughter accidentally spilled her water, they didn’t replace the table cloth, server dribbled red wine on the white table cloth and down my glass when pouring my wine, we received our bread after our meals showed up when all the tables around us had their bread already, had to ask another waiter for more water and it took forever for someone to clear our table.
The mansion outside seating is beautiful at night! I would recommend going for a birthday, anniversary or some type of special celebration.
The worst service! Mediocre food at best Not worth even 1/2 of what we paid. Rain started and everyone had to mad scramble. Absolutely not worth it
Very nice ambience but that’s about it
Lobster was over cooked but otherwise everything was great. Wines are awesome, and so is the ambiance.
My husband and I went early, 6:00pm on a Sunday, Ocean Drive was already crowded and parking was impossible to find. There is valet parking for $30.00 which we took advantage of. We were seated promptly at our reservation time, our server, Latoya, was excellent she was friendly, attentive and informative. The atmosphere was wonderful and nostalgic but a bit pricey.Overall we had a great time and will go back for a special occasion.
We booked the restaurant but when we got there the girl said our name was not on the list. She was wrong and we were embarrassed with our guests. After complaining we were seated at 9 pm. The view was fantastic. The waiter did not want to give us the "Miami Spice" and said the portions were very small, but we insisted to look at it. We are not big eaters and the portions were adequate. The rain came down and spoiled the evening. We were put in a room full of a screaming party of 20 women, who were very noisy. We had to ask them to calm down. Such parties should not be put in rooms where the other guests would like to enjoy a romantic evening.
The food and service were rubbish, complete waste of money. The surroundings were stunning, I would not recommend going there.
Greeters at front door are rude and snooty! Literally blocked us from entering like we weren’t allowed even though we had reservation. Then the greeters told us we couldn’t come in because of our shoes. I asked for the manager and he had no problem with it.
There is a bit of racism going on at the greeters area. They roll their eyes after the manager let us in.
Branzini was good, not the greatest I’ve had. Sides dishes were fabulous.
Overall I will never visit again.
Excellent atmosphere for a date or dinner with family/friends. This is a very unique environment relative to the other options in Miami Beach
Visually, the place is eye candy for architects (myself being one) and drips of a rich history.
The food is bland and lacks complexity. My wife ordered vanilla ice cream w/ mixed berries and vanilla crumble. Instead she receive lemon sorbet w/ croutons....and berries.
I was sat at a table where the fan was 3 feet away from me and blowing directly on my head. The staff moved it immediately after I asked, how about the next time the staff reealizes this should be done before a client sits down.
A restaurant that reeks with such beauty and history deserves a meal that compliments it.
I “checked” the box and went in the manaion, I sorry it came down to box checking on a place like this.
Our server Valentina was amazing! She was so helpful and knowledgeable about the space. She had our best interest at heart and she really made our experience memorable.
We got there on time for our reservation and waited an hour for our table and decided to eat elsewhere
Food was great but the service was horrible. I guess that's why the automatically add a 22% service fee.
Food was amazing but the service was absolutely horrible, we did not get seated for our 8:00 reservation until 9:00! Courses were slow then we had to beg for our check!? It’s unfortunate the food being so good was overshadowed by the poor service. Would most likely pick another option for fine dining on South Beach.
Amazing atmosphere! Great staff and even better food. 10/10 will be back!
Gianni’s is for the experience. Outstanding food in an extraordinary space. Opulence at its best!
Amazing atmosphere, pricey but great food and ambiance
Great place great food. I will recommend anyone who loves a nice ambiance
