GG's Bistro Ratings and Reviews
The best Turkish coffee we had for a while and nicely served! Both dishes (spinach salad and swordfish skewers) were delicious. The owners stopped by our table few times to make sure everything is OK. Will be back for sure and will definitely recommend this place to family and friends.
I picked this restaurant by looking through tripadvior reviews. We love Mediterranean food, so it looked like a good choice. We were a little disappointed. I had the lamb skewers, and I honestly could not taste the meat. No flavor. When does that ever happen with lamb? They served it with a tsasiki type sauce which if you didn't dip in, you got no flavor. My husband had chicken Marsala, which was good. My son had the cioppino, which he was happy with. We sat outside, and the traffic was close by, but it wasn't too loud. Service was good. We did share the Mezze appetizer which was very good. I'd go back for a drink and just that.
It was a lovely day and we were dining al fresco in beautiful Laguna Beach. That was the best part of lunch. The food was adequate. Eggplant and falafel appetisers were unremarkable. Gyro plate meat was dried out. Service was competent but not especially inspiring.
We loved the food, outdoor dining and service. It's in busy Laguna Beach, and the underground parking was wonderful. Didn't have to search for a parking space. Outdoor seating was protected from breeze and had heat lamps, so it was perfect even when cool. Mediterranean food was delicious and well priced. We'll definitely be back, and highly recommend it.
The food was delicious. Great selection of gluten free dishes. The patio is a bit cramped and the noise from PCH is uncomfortable. But, that is the nature of beach dining so if you like good food, you put up with the noise. The pet-friendly nature of the patio seating is a big plus.
What a delight!
We walked in for our dinner reservation and were greeted by a lovely trio of musicians playing standards from the 30s on up. What fun. The food was delicious, the cocktails, wine and spirits were flowing. I can recommend the pomegranate martini.
Great crowd! A memorable night.
Yummy Mediterranean food, and lovely ambience despite a cool and very rainy night. We enjoyed the mixed appetizer plate, calamari, several types of kebab meals, and the flavorful and very rich Turkish pudding (share!). Sunday evening music provided by Steve and Beth Fitchet Wood was friendly and so much fun!
This place is quite small, but does have good food to serve, and that is the reason why we had driven 40 miles on a Friday evening. The service is always great, and I being a vegetarian had ordered their lentil salad which I found was delicious BUT filled with more arugula than the lentils and garbanzo, that I would have enjoyed more with some arugula. My husband and the friends we had gone with had ordered other dishes which they relished very much.
Overall, we had a great experience.
Loved the fact that we could have a wonderful evening dining while bringing on pet dog along. The patio is very comfortable and charming. Enjoyed the Mediterranean menu, both of our dishes were delicious ans healthy. Service was very good as well. I especially liked their raspberry martini.
This is a cute family restaurant where we had one of the best Turkish food in US. Turkish dishes in the menu are delicious and tastewise close to what you will find in Turkey. Service was friendly and efficient. I highly recommend this restaurant. My only recommendation to the owners would be about complimentary olive oil served before our entrees: It was really nice to get complimentary olive oil and fresh bread. Please serve a higher quality olive oil, keep it simple with an optional sea salt, and serve in drip free bottle or carafe with the same bread.
It's kind of noisy because it's right above PCH, but that's to be expected when dining outside.
The food was good, I had the beef keftes which came with a side salad and pita. The salad was a little tired, I didn't eat it all. I've only eaten here for dinner and sat inside.
There is a full bar, the people are very friendly.
My daughter and I came to GG's for dinner. We sat outside and it was perfect weather. We were not starving so since it was happy hour we just ordered from the happy hour menu. We had chicken skewers and salad, shared and eggplant pasta dish and had two espresso martinis each. The bill was 37.80! Pretty darn good for Laguna! Service was good. Will definitely be our go to place when in Laguna!!
