Gertrude's is a wonderful place to enjoy the food, wine and service.
Amazing food. Service was fantastic. Atmosphere was great.
Delightful food and service, BUT I think we were the last you served before the virus. Food and drinks were tasteful. Couldn't have asked for a better dining experience except we were concerned for the staff knowing they may not be working tomorrow.
Three of us had the Gertie Burgers which we were told we could any way we wanted. We asked for two medium rare and one medium. They all came well done. They were tasty but not how we ordered.
We arrived for lunch a half hour earlier than our reservation and the hostess cheerfully seated us outside at our request, at a table of our choosing. The waiter (who looked like a young Kevin Sorbo and was very bright with a great sense of humor) was quick, efficient, patient with our party of 4 old people, and checked back with us enough to be helpful but not naggy. Our food was excellent and generous, service prompt, and the whole experience was great.
Our family spent an afternoon here for lunch to celebrate the life of my mother who passed away a year ago on our reservation date. It was fun to eat at this eclectic restaurant. We had the elote fritters (excellent), the duck (succulent), the burger (juicy and huge!), the Salmon salad (also really huge!), and a side of shrimp and some bread (large portions for sides, and delicious butter for the bread)! Our waitress was fantastic, attentive, accommodating, and funny. We would gladly go back and may make a habit of it yearly! Thank you!
The service was very good with the staff being very friendly, attentive to our needs, and knowledgeable regarding menu items. Restaurant was very clean. Ambience was quite pleasant for a Sunday morning brunch.
Ambiance was very nice, server was very nice , food was fair. Went to celebrate my daughters birthday , wanted to do something special . Lovely outdoor patio seating , eggs Benedict was the worst I have had . French toast was fair, I make it better at hone. Mimosas were the best thing we had . Wish it was better because I’m a member of the garden and would to go often to dine but will not return for food.
Gertrude’s menu is amazing. We always order the bred and morsel plate to begin. Every entree we’ve had over our 7 years of Spring Training visits, has been exceptional. We enjoy the patio near the garden’s fabulous plants.
The wait staff is welcoming, cheerful and helpful. Our waiter gave us very accurate and precise directions to the airport. Much appreciated!
If you visit Phoenix, you must dine at Gertrude’s. If you live in Phoenix, lucky you!!!
The experience was great. Our waiter was friendly and prompt, the drinks delicious as well as the food. We will definitely eat at Gertrude’s the next time we visit the gardens.
Everything and everyone were lovely esp our server Chelsea wow
Lovely dinner, a little pricey but very tasty.
A beautiful setting in one of my favorite places in the world, at the Phoenix Botanical Garden. Friendly service and great table despite how busy they were. A must when in Phoenix!
Gertrude’s is a lovely place to eat, but honestly, I was disappointed in the food. We had a crab dip, Korean chicken and jambalaya and none of them were particularly good. Our waitress was terrific but we watched the hostess get very frustrated as people being seated outside wanted the shadiest table. I understand her frustration but if there is another table available, people should get what they want within reason.
Great waiter !!! Very personable, the cauliflower was delicious as well as the arugula salad with salmon. The new setting was nice. However perhaps add more green plants to the dining area for more inviting dining area
Went for brunch at 10:30- but only lunch. 🤨
Menu is trying to be too exotic to be “normal.” I.E. the tomato soup is really cold gazpacho......
Oh well, the burger was good and so was the jambalaya but at 10:30 am??????
We had a very enjoyable experience. The food was good & the atmosphere enjoyable.
Great food and ambiance and tasty options for vegans and vegetarians!
Brought guests from out of town. They loved it! We would definitely return.
Nice place for a casual meal. Great setting in the garden
One of my favorite places! Can’t beat great food surrounded by the Desert Botanical Gardens.
Food was excellent & our server exceptional. We were a bit disappointed that there were no fish offerings among the entrees offered. Otherwise great!
Set on the edge of a lovely garden, the staff is welcoming and the food quite decent. After a cocktail, our four-top had an entree for each of us. Delightful & completely satisfied.
A great tour of the botanical garden followed by a very good dining experience outside ... service was fantastic, must have reservation, and do not miss the garden margarita !
Better than usual in all ways
Although my server was fine, the kitchen and bar staff were loud, unprofessional, and profane. With open access to the kitchen, all staff conversations could be heard and they made no attempt to modify their language or volume.
The food was ok, but under the circumstances not worth the price.
Food was average. Totally not worth the price. Only reason we go there is because we like to have a pleasant meal after a day at the botanical gardens. Doubt if we will return anytime soon to the restaurant.
We had a wonderful dinner. The service is amazing. The food has great flavor.
Great specials, and how can you beat lunch with a roadrunner passing by?
I HAVE NOT BEEN FOR A WHILE. SEEMS LIKE A REIMAGINED MENU.
ITS VERY INTERESTING AND 7 OF US ALL ENJOYED OUR MEALS. Prices seemed fair--but its not inexpensive.
Service was outstanding.
A continuing winner--and a chance to take in the flowers as well, makes it special this time of year.
We had a terrific lunch on the patio. The menu provides a variety of salads, sandwiches and entrees. I had arugula with smoked salmon which was perfect and large enough to share. Make reservations as it is very popular rstaurant.
Seeing friends we have not seen for twenty years...
Gertrudes never disappoints. Love taking out of town guests there - even when we don’t have time to enjoy the gardens also. The setting is delightful when the weather is nice, but the inside seating is equally cozy and inviting.
Great place. Innovative food. Fantastic location. Excellent service. Reasonable price.
Excellent food and service. Very expensive
Food was healthy and delicious! The menu includes everyone’s food wants! The staff was fabulous and we were well taken care of. I am planning may more visits to eat! And see the gardens!
Gertrude's is a unique experience not to be missed. The setting in the Botanic Gardens creates the perfect ambiance and the menu offers a wide range of appetizers and entrees, everything from a gourmet burger to the smoked salmon salad are wonderful. It's all fresh, farm to table ingredients. The "Morsels" appetizer was especially fun and good to share. The outside seating is all shaded and where I prefer to sit for the view and the noise level is lower. There are heaters to keep you comfortable for those cooler times. Gertrude's is a special place and popular, so reservations are a good idea.
Perfect patio table for 12. We had a great waiter, excellent food and enjoyed the great weather and beautiful gardens. We loved the amazing hospitality!
the salmon salad was awful. There were no grean beans, few olives, and a smidgen of salmon. I was very disappointed. For the cost, poor quality was not a good experience. I am a long time supporter of the gardens, and this was truly a let down. I will not bring others hear for lunch.
Delicious food. We each (3) ordered the same thing. The salmon on the salad was a different amount for each of us.
