   Inside room is unattractive. First sight is a branded frozen ice cream case like at a convenience store. Outside also ugly, doesn’t take advantage of garden surroundings. No misters, just noisy fans. Hot and ugly. Corn fritter appetizers were very good. Caesar salad so-so. Salmon dish was bad - fish overcooked, sauce and risotto too sweet. Risotto was too mushy, not really a risotto.

   What a lovely relaxing place. This was a great way to start our experience in the Botanical Gardens.

   Josh is an excellent server. We enjoyed our meal of our Gertrude favorites - cauliflower-shishito app and Gertie burger!

   My wife & I visited Gertrude’s for our 7th wedding anniversary. The hostess was so sweet & gave my wife & I a card wishing us a happy anniversary. It was a sweet gesture that we both appreciated. The waiter was very attentive, cordial, & helpful explaining the menu items. I had a cactus cosmo that was perfectly balanced & delicious. My wife had opted for a passion fruit smoothie that was delicious, tangy, & sweet. For an appetizer, we had the elote fritters which definitely delivered in tasting just like an elote with a hint of lime for acidity to go with the creaminess of Gertrude’s sauce. After, we had 2 entrees: the lamb mole enchiladas & Gertie’s burger. Both dishes had amazing flavor. The lamb was cooked so perfectly, it melting in your mouth. Gertie’s burger is the most flavorful burger my wife has had in a while. She enjoyed a side of potato fingerlings. We had two more additional drinks: a frozen sangria & Grenache, Rune, AZ wine. The frozen sangria was refreshing & so good! The wine was a white wine that was light bodied. Overall, they made our anniversary all the more special.

   We were at Gertrude's for brunch, one of my favorite times to visit. As usual, the food was outstanding, and the staff was wonderful. I'm sad to hear the news that the managing company that has made Gertrude's a must-visit anytime we are nearby and visiting DBG is ending its work with Gertrude's.

   Gertrude's never disappoints. They will be closing for good soon, so we decided to go on the final Sunday. Since we have eaten there for years, it was a bitter sweet time. We ordered all of our favorite dishes. Everything was outstanding, as we expected. Our sèver Bethany was great and very professional. We wish her well. We will miss going there, as well as the Patio Cafe.
