We were at Gertrude's on a holiday and it was very busy. That said, the service was very good, very pleasant. We ordered burgers, soup, corn fritters, one pulled pork special, and arugula salad. The fritters got raves, but the soup was bland. The gluten free bun for the burger was like a brick and I personally didn't care for the potatoes. All else met up to our standard. When in Phoenix I would definitely find time (not on peak hours) to return. Thank you.

Beautiful place but nothing amazing except for the donut holes. The donut holes were amazing. Bloody marry was really not good and benedict’s were dry.

So great! Beautiful place, so nice, sat outside and enjoyed the “winter” weather. I’ve been talking about the breakfast fried rice for two days. Such a treasure right in the Botanic Gardens! Will be back when I’m in Phoenix again.

The waiter acted like he couldn’t care less that we were there. Had to ask multiple times for drinks. The two ladies at the hostess stand were equally as unfriendly.

The pacing of the meal was perfect. The patio is always lovely. My salmon salad and guest’s scallops were tasy with appealing presentation.

Delicious food and inventive menu. Attentive and personable server. Beautiful patio setting. We make a point of eating at Gertrude’s every time we visit the Desert Botanical Garden.

We actually arrived before our reservation time and was promptly seated. Our server Liz ended up being not only experience but made the evening very enjoyable. We order and as we waited we knew the food would be awesome by what we saw being served. Well, what we saw was what we received. The entree we order was not on done well but was presented like fine dining should be. We have already decided to return before we leave for the cold and missable weather in the Midwest!
Should mention this is located at the Botanical Garden which is amazing in itself. There is a nighttime light show which was worth much more than the additional price.

Great menu selection for a gluten free diet. I had the shrimp Risotto and donuts and sauces for desert. Service was great and we were seating quickly for our reservation. Had a few questions about menu choices and they were answered quickly and completely. Will enjoy another meal here in the near future.

The food was delicious. We really enjoyed the crab dip. The Blackberry Bramble cocktail was very good too. My husband is a big guy and he enjoyed the fact that his serving was ample for him. The wait staff were very good as well. This is a restaurant we will happily visit again.

We dined outside which was perfect. Inside, it was warm and the noise level higher. Patio was just right with the landscaping and fountain. Food was exceptionally good. We thought the dining experience before seeing the Electric Dessert made for an outstanding evening.

We were seated on the patio and greeted pleasantly by our server. Both of us chose the red snapper special and found it cooked well and presented attractively. The desserts of lime Mexican tart and the donuts with sauces were both delicious. Service was attentive.

The food, service and overall experience was fantastic. We were a large party and brought family visiting from England. We could not have picked a better venue for this very special family gathering. Would highly recommend Gertrude's for date night, a special occasion. Thank you to the entire staff.

I have been to Gertrude's once a year for the last 5 years. This experience was terrible. I had the duck; it was extremely over-seasoned; to me, nearly inedible. The meat had been marinated with a very strong poultry seasoning; nothing on the plate was able to mask the strong seasoning. The duck was served with 2 tiny roasted parsnips (good but just 2) and with tiny sweet potato gnocchi. The gnocchi were weird. They tasted fine, but, they did not enhance the duck. The duck was not sauced. I also ordered a side of Brussel sprouts as a starter; the sprouts came with dinner and were inedible. They had been marinated with kimchi and dressed with a garlic sauce. I took them home, washed them, and re-steamed them. They were still hard and garlicky. UGHH!!! We had come from a wine tasting, so everyone wanted water. We were given 1 glass and no refills. One individual ordered a soup starter then the main course, shrimp risotto. The servers forgot the risotto. No one came back to check on us until we were finished. A server brought the risotto when told of the problem; it didn't appear on our final bill. The risotto was good but the duck plate is horrible, as are the Brussel Sprouts. The staff did a poor job that night. I won't go back until the head chef is replaced.

Some young girl bartender was rude and condescending and our waiter kept acting like he was doing us a favor anytime he brought food or drinks. They don’t have a very high class or mannerly staff.

This restaurant is amazing. We sat outside as the weather was beautiful. Being at the garden and eating outside is such a nice experience. The selection on the menu was unique in a good way as they have placed their own twist on familiar dishes and created new ones. The vegan meal was really tasty...I was pleased that they had a vegan main meal option!!!
