Incredible service and the most beautiful food and scenery.
Great service and good selection.
This is a great place to take a date after a stroll through the desert botanical gardens.
Great place after a day at the botanical gardens. Fresh drinks and healthy food.
Great food and service with beautiful outdoor seating area
Fantastic food, ambiance and cocktails. Absolutely a must stop for brunch on your way to the botanical garden.
Great food, excellent location! Hit mess & scone & gravy are really good! Must get the donut holes. The gardens are worth it.
Second time in a week I’ve been to Gertrude’s! Took my daughter to lunch, it was great!
I had the chili burger, she had French toast ( again), both were fantastic!
Food didn't have that wow factor, it was good and cooked perfectly but lacked a bit of flavor for $30 dollar plates.
After a relaxing walk through the fantastic desert botanical garden, my friend and I enjoyed a savory lunch at Gertrudes. The staff at Gertrudes consistently effuses positivity and possess great attention to detail . We were enthusiastically greeted and told we could select a table that was open on the outdoor patio. COVID protocols are in place so every member of the staff were masked and tables spaced according to COVID standards. Our waitress informed us of the special entrees in addition to the menu. We split the steak sandwich and ordered a side of crispy potatoes. The sandwich was delicious showcasing a smoky flavor melded with horseradish and fresh pickles. The crispy potatoes never disappoint. The ambiance is such a treat with scenic views from every table . The Desert Botanical Garden and Gertrudes are state treasures.
Food is okay. Nothing unexpected. The noodles were a little salty. Might been our fault, didn’t say to ease on the soy sauce...
Overall, disappointing. The service was great. The ambience was dulled with a swarm of house flies. The corn fritter appetizer was great. My wife had the tamales, beautiful presentation but lacked flavor a real bummer. I had the cheese burger, also great presentation but lack luster. We will try it again, and hope the food is better.
Our server was very good and very attentive to making our grandsons feel welcome. The food was well presented and delicious.
Food was great, service fantastic, beautiful setting!
We will definitely be back!!
Very cool venue for dinner. Interesting menu.
Patio was beautiful. Service very good. Food sub-par and over priced.
Gertrudes remains as one of our favorite outings. Even though we are dealing with covid restrictions we were able to have a great meal in a beautiful setting.
Had a wonderful, socially distanced lunch at Gertrudes this past week. I ordered a Salmon Salad which was gigantic and delicious. Our Server, Josh, was on top of his game. Provided just the right amount to attention and made a Birthday celebration very special for my daughter.
The Gardens are beautiful this season and Gertrudes is a fabulous place to have a delicious meal.
Thank you to all
The ambiance was very nice, wait staff was very attentive. My complaint is about the food and price. I had the brazed beef and got a very salty pot roast with veggies for $29 and the bread service with a simple loaf of French bread and butter for $8. To me the meal did not feel like it should have been this expensive for the quality. I've been to other local farm to table establishments here in the valley and for that price it would have been better prepared with more value for the $$$. My date got one of the burgers and thought the chips were no better than diritos chips. We really expected a much higher quality for the location and price. Neither of us will be going back anytime soon sad to say.
Ate outside, nice new permanent cover over outside. Usual excellent service and food!
We were the only guests in the dinning room so noise level and safe were very good. Service was great. Outside would have had better ambiance but there weren’t any sunny tables available. We had a very enjoyable lunch.
My complaint is that there are no vegan options and the vegetarian options were pretty ordinary. It would be nice to order something exceptional that was vegetarian or vegan. Especially when you are having a dinner that is quite pricey.
Wonderfully tasty brunch served by capable friendly wait staff in gorgeous desert setting.
We ate on the patio on 12/31. It was a chilly night but the heaters were blazing so you could eat without a coat. Food was great. I had the Cioppino which was the seafood special. Our group also had the braised beef, boar stew and Red Beans and Rice. We also shared the crab and kale appetizer. Everything was Delicious! Our server, Christine, was attentive and gave good suggestions. The patio was busy but tables were socially distanced. Wonderful way to say goodbye to 2020. Will be back!!
This was our first time eating at Gertrude's. We will be coming back! Everything was wonderful!
New Year’s Eve with Luminaries after a great dinner🤩👏🥳🎆🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯
The waiter was rude,
The good is expensive,
A d the service is. It great won’t come back ever
We really enjoyed the food and with all the heaters, we were toasty warm. Their food is creative and very good. Service was really fast.
Very friendly service and great outdoor dining experience during COVID.
Unique and delicious recipes with excellent service.
Decided to eat at Gertrude’s before we went through the Desert Botanical Garden. We had no idea what to expect but it was outside dining. The ambience was perfect. Tables far apart. MANY heaters by the tables. The wait staff was wonderful. The food EXCELLED. We ate (among the 4 of us) from different parts of the menu: a salmon salad, the special of rib-eye, risotto with shrimp, and a burger. They were all fabulous!!! We also tried different cocktails: spicy margarita, a Cosmo martini, gin and tonic and beer. Also perfect. I would go to just eat there!
Great service beautiful setting. Food is excellent!
Family enjoyed Christmas at the Princess
Enjoyed our date night very much.
Food good and service excellent. Waitress was great sorry I can’t recall her name.
Enjoyed the lights in the garden got many great pictures.
Will come back at daytime to see what it looks like.
They need to improve their protocols for observing customer Gluten concerns which are clearly expressed both upon arrival and when ordering. Their menu describes numerous GF option items. But if the prep does not observe clearly expressed GF needs problems can arise. My daughter has celiac and her directives were not followed. Food was sent back.
We love the location, otherwise, and their Covid protocols were solid.
Thank you so much for making my fiancé and I’s engagement celebration dinner so special! Y’all rock!
This was a birthday celebratory dinner and the complimentary dessert they provided was fabulous. The cuisine is all delicious, beautifully presented. It is a pleasure to be able to dine outside as well.
The food was ok. The lamb curry was tasty but the meat was not tender. Service was not ok but had to ask twice for a napkin. The rissotto was tasty a little too heavy and the fish was fried and out on top. I want to real like like this restaurant but I always leave hoping for better food and service.
The service was very good but the food was not. Our Scallops were sandy and barely warm. My husbands food was too spicy and my daughters noodle dish was so salty she didn’t finish it. Overall the patio was very nice and our waitress was good. But we will not go back because of the bad food.
