Geronimo Ratings and Reviews
My dinner at Geronimo was exceptional. The staff was very professional and the service far exceeded my expectations. The food was perfectly cooked and delicious. I had the rack of lamb and asparagus soup and was very satisfied with both. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and had great wine recommendations to complement the food. This was easily the best dining experience I have had anywhere. Highly recommend.
I visited Geronimo based on a friends recommendation. I was VERY glad that I decided to go. Service was amazing. My business partner had the recommended NY Strip, and he said it was delicious.
I had the elk tenderloin. It was amazing. I would highly recommend trying it. We paired our food with a glass of wine (they have bottles and wine by the glass, the waitress was kind enough to mention options that weren't on the menu as well).
I chose Geronimo to celebrate my 60th birthday. Everyone from the valet to the Maitre d' to the servers was service-focused; they did everything they could to assure we had an excellent experience. The food was predictably great (I realized later that I placed exactly the same order as on my prior visit - it was as good as I remembered).
Really appreciated the complimentary champagne, unlimited bread and delightful amuse bouche.
Geronimo is an expensive place so we can't afford to go there as often as we'd like, but it stands at #1 as the place to go on special occasions.
My wife and I were visiting Santa Fe for her birthday. After many recommendations for Geronimo, I decided to set a reservation for dinner. We walked from our hotel to find the restaurant tucked between art galleries on historic canyon road. As soon as we opened the door, we were greeted and felt very welcome. The setting was beautiful and everyone was thoughtful in wishing my wife Happy Birthday. Our waiter was excellent as well as the food and drinks. The Elk tenderloin was perfect. We were both in awe of the authentic friendliness of everyone there. I'm not one to often write reviews. Positive or negative. But I felt that our experience was that great from start to finish that it would be a disservice not to write one.
We can't wait to go back!
Superb quality cuisine, great decoration and ambiance, magnificent dishes - in flavor, ingredients and presentation. Top courteous and professional service. The entire staff went out of their way to make all of us have a great time and enjoy one of the best dining experiences, ever. Definitely the best restaurant of Santa Fe, in every sense.
I really, really enjoyed my meal at Geronimo. The meal was a gift, someone purchased a gift card for me when they heard I would be travelling in the area, and I cannot thank them enough. This place was low key and not stuffy at all, but was one of the best meals I have ever had. The service was flawless, and the whole evening was a delight.
New Year’s Eve at Geronimo - Wow! There were 1,000 balloons on the ceiling, with ribbons hanging down. It was magical and looked like a lot of thought and work had gone into it. All of the employees, from the valets to the servers were in a joyful mood. Two items that I ordered stand out for me: the green chili infused margaritas and a sea bass in a truffle ramen base. Both were about as perfect as you can get. I’dove to learn how to make both! Thank you, Geronimo, for a memorable celebration!
My husband and I dined here on Dec. 30th 2017. Geronimo’s was busy, but not crazy hectic. The hostess Janine, and our server, Gretchen, were welcoming and attentive. My entree - the salmon was cooked perfectly - not over cooked or - Ick! undercooked. Very flavorful. I would definitely recommend this entree. My husband had the lobster - which was disappointing in every way. We had a lovely Barolo to accompany our seafood selection which was very good. For dessert we had the lemon crepe - which was only so. (Not even so so.) My husband liked it - but I thought it was a heavy fried overstuffed lemon mess. I would not have it again.
Overall - like the restaurant - elegantly subdued decor with attentive service and fairly well prepared food. Wine list is an 8 out of 10. We are obnoxious foodies and critical of overpriced ill prepared food. Would like to see some new menu options.
Side note: Do not go on a Holiday evening! (2016 Christmas evening) everything was subpar for a restaurant of Geronimo’s caliber and reputation as we were rushed through dinner to accomadate another seating.
One of the best dining experiences ever - from the great atmosphere and fine tabletop featuring Rosenthal China, silver flatware, nice crystal and 100% cotton napkins - our server offered my wife who was wearing Black a black napkin to eliminate the pilling of the white. Corner booth with huge and soft pillows - didn’t want to leave. Nice wine list - extensive - server offered suggestions when asked, we had the pear salad and bisque - I had the elk (was signature as server suggested it over the beef), my wife had the incredible shrimp. Creme brûlée sampler for dessert. Definitely an exquisite and wonderful dining experience. Our new Santa Fe go to restaurant.
Geronimo is special. Among the many fine restaurants in Santa Fe, Geronimo stands out. The entire experience at Geronimo is excellent. The old adobe is warm and inviting. The service is outstanding: timely, friendly and helpful. The menu, presentation and meals are all extraordinary. Our table had the Elk, Sea Bass, Prawns and a vegetarian entre and all were amazing. Just a perfect evening
Great food and ambience. The waiter was over zealous and stopped by our table every couple of minutes to ask how we were. It was awkward and we ended up focusing more of our attention on him then on each other and the food. I would recommend to tone it down. Otherwise an excellent experience.
We have eaten here several times including this summer. But this experience was horrible. Our waiter hardly checked on us. Coming back with pepper for salads as we were finishing the last bites. After our salads arrived very quickly we waited almost 50 minutes for the rest of the meal. He never came back and only when I caught the eye of the other helper did they get a worried look on their face and rushed around to bring the rest of the meal. He never came to see if we needed anything else. Never asked if we wanted wine with the meal. Never ask d if we want d another drink. Nothing. The food was ok my steak was cold. Never asked about dessert because it was so late by the time the main food was brought out at 10:35. We will pass on eating here again. There are too many other places in town.
Gorgeous , delicious and great service. Our waiter , Craig, had a great sense of humor , was very attentive and had wonderful recommendations. We loved the lamb and salmon . Desserts were delish especially the homemade coconut sorbet. No complaints. Would return in a second. We had a nine o’ clock reservation and got there at 8:30. In 7 minutes ,and good luck we were seated . The hostess was lovely. Customer service here is over the top. We enjoyed every second being there.
Perfect way to end a great week visiting Santa Fe. Impeccable service and an outstanding menu, you really can’t go wrong with what you choose. The added bonus was sitting next to one of the kiva fireplaces - so if you want an extra special and cozy dining experience, definitely make that request with your reservation.
