Geronimo Ratings and Reviews
Don’t miss Geronimo if you love food. This has always been our favorite restaurant in Santa Fe. What a spectacular menu. We split the wedge which was on the price fixed menu but let us order it separately. It was delicious. My husband order the elk and wasn’t disappointed. I had the best rack of lamb and it was so large the everyone at the table got more then a bite. Our dinner companions had the Caesar and pasta and split the steak and fries. Raved about the steak but weren’t crazy about the fries. Great wine list. We had s bottle of Duckhorn Merlot 2014. Was delicious. Ordered the banana tart. To much ginger and the chocolate little ice cream tower was difficult to eat. Time a good restaurant just served a slice of old fashioned banana cream pie. Will be back next time we are in Santa Fe.
This was our first “taste” of Santa Fe, having just arrived from CA! Obviously, never having been either to Geronimo’s or Santa Fe before, we had a fabulous first impression of both and excitedly anticipated our long weekend here. Service was quick and food amazing. Loved all the menu choices, and went with our server’s suggestions. Nice ambiance as well!
Geronimo is an excellent fine dining restaurant. The sea bass and elk tenderloin were both excellent entries. Service was as expected at a fine dining restaurant. Exterior ambiance is rather ordinary but the interior is attractive. Somewhat expensive. Highly recommended if you are seeking a fine dinning experience is Santa Fe.
Geronimo is perhaps the best restaurant I have had the pleasure of patronizing. The food is magnificent and the service is friendly and top-notch. The only reason I gave value 4 stars instead of 5 is because ot is very expensive, but for this quality it was worth it. If you're like me and have to save up for something like this you won't be disappointed.
In short, Geronimo is amazing. We arrived late (after they take their last reservation) as our travel had delayed us. Geronimo made an exception for us, and the food was exceptional itself. The wine list was impressive and the meal was followed by an equally amazing dessert.
Great service, great server, great food and a very nice atmosphere.
I can't say enough. (and I'm a picky foodie)
The maître d came across as snooty (blonde woman, short hair). We had a 7pm reservation and we were 5 minutes early - she seemed very unwelcoming because we were 5 minutes early. 5 minutes. Not 30 (where it would be unacceptable).
Besides the above, the service of the waitstaff was impeccable and the food was delicious. My lamb was perfectly cooked. My husband ordered the Elk medium rare but it came medium-well. We also had the Tuna tartar and Caesar salad. Loved that this Caesar had anchovies; as all Caesars should.
Dessert was perfect - we had the German chocolate cake. This was accompanied with Port wine.
Besides the start to our experience with the woman at the beginning - Geronimo was a good experience.
Best Thanksgiving Dinner at a restaurant that we have ever had! Can’t wait to return. My husband had a traditional Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings. I had their wonderful elk. You should know that the elk is specially raised for Geronimo’s & it is so tender & full of flavor! Very special atmosphere & the service was worthy of a Michelin starred restaurant! We are locals so we know all the area restaurants and this is tops!
The last time we were here Eric DeStefano, the original chef, was still cooking. It is good to see that the kitchen has not missed a beat: this is probably the best restaurant in Santa Fe and it would be in the top flight of restaurants no matter what city it would find itself in. Staff are EXTREMELY well trained and scripted. Service was flawless; food is exceptional. Strongly recommend the elk loin, one of their signature dishes.
Absolutely loved our pre-Thanksgiving meal at Geronimo! We started with the duck and ravioli appetizer which was out of this world! Three out of our party of four had the elk which was cooked perfectly and you could cut it with a butter knife. The creme brûlée was a special treat and served like I have never seen before! This was a very special meal and the service was impeccable! Thank you!!
Food tasty; ambiance great! This restaurant in the middle of Canyon Road—nestled among art galleries—lives up to its reputation. Fine dining, great service, good wine & cocktail selections. Sea bass my husband ordered was delicious. My vegetarian selection was great.
Best of Santa Fe and probably the US! The elk tenderloin is a heart healthy option and they made my husbands’s meal without butter or salt! Heart disease is the #1 killer in the US and yet so many restaurants focus on gluten free. Only 1% of the nation has celiac disease Necessitating gluten-free! Geronimo surpassed our expectations in food and service!
It was our 35 wedding anniversary service by Dienke was fantastic her manners and professional demeanor shows the level of restaurant education and training. The service from the moment we walked in was outstanding including the girls in the front.
My suggestion is that the Champagne by the glass was very limited and no Cava which is a Spanish sparkling light and dry. I was surprised they did not have more options and better than what I had to have . Which was Tattinger a 20 dollar glass of champagne I hope this helps
