Geronimo Ratings and Reviews
Geronimo is expensive, but there is a difference between it and other expensive restaurants. Some restaurants charge more for recipes with ingredients you can't pronounce and then they call themselves high-end. What makes Geronimo different is the attention. From the moment you walk in the door, you are treated like you are seen and valued. Everyone you encounter gives you 100% of their attention, and the feeling you get is that for them, in that moment, there is nobody more important. This is a nice feeling when you go out for an expensive meal once a year, and usually for a special occasion.
It was a good meal. The tuna appetizer was very good. We had been here previously and both had the elk which was a bit better the last time. We went for our anniversary and the place does have a special occasion sort of feel but it really didn't deliver well enough to be worth the cost.
The absolute best meal I have had all year. I travel a lot and the Elk Tenderloin was beyond magnificent and better than any meal I have had this year at restaurants in London, Palm Beach, Orlando, San Diego, Las Vegas or Honolulu. When in Santa Fe Geronimo is a must try for dinner.
Geronimo continues to exceed our expectations for excellent cuisine and service. In particular, the signature Chilean sea bass dish is one of a kind found no where else. Our wait staff Grant and Reginald provided impeccable service. Finally, our booth and the ambience was highlighted by the romantic music. We had a wonderful evening.
Great food and service. We both had the elk tenderloin and both enjoyed it. Wine list was also good with a nice selection from around the world. It was very crowded and noise level was a bit high the night we were there but would definitely go back the next time we’re in Santa Fe.
Our meal was excellent! The wine pairings were spot on. The evening begins with a sip of dry champagne, a great aperitif. The foie gras and suaternes - fantastic. The appetizer - Maryland Blue crab cakes (bathing in a dill sauce) with a ZD chardonnay - wow! The main course Green Miso sea bass in citron rouille - fabulously prepared. - stick to the ZD chardonnay, it'll haunt you nicely. No coffee, ask for your dessert to go and have a nice bottle ready to go at your hotel or Inn.
Don’t miss Geronimo if you love food. This has always been our favorite restaurant in Santa Fe. What a spectacular menu. We split the wedge which was on the price fixed menu but let us order it separately. It was delicious. My husband order the elk and wasn’t disappointed. I had the best rack of lamb and it was so large the everyone at the table got more then a bite. Our dinner companions had the Caesar and pasta and split the steak and fries. Raved about the steak but weren’t crazy about the fries. Great wine list. We had s bottle of Duckhorn Merlot 2014. Was delicious. Ordered the banana tart. To much ginger and the chocolate little ice cream tower was difficult to eat. Time a good restaurant just served a slice of old fashioned banana cream pie. Will be back next time we are in Santa Fe.
This was our first “taste” of Santa Fe, having just arrived from CA! Obviously, never having been either to Geronimo’s or Santa Fe before, we had a fabulous first impression of both and excitedly anticipated our long weekend here. Service was quick and food amazing. Loved all the menu choices, and went with our server’s suggestions. Nice ambiance as well!
Geronimo is an excellent fine dining restaurant. The sea bass and elk tenderloin were both excellent entries. Service was as expected at a fine dining restaurant. Exterior ambiance is rather ordinary but the interior is attractive. Somewhat expensive. Highly recommended if you are seeking a fine dinning experience is Santa Fe.
Geronimo is perhaps the best restaurant I have had the pleasure of patronizing. The food is magnificent and the service is friendly and top-notch. The only reason I gave value 4 stars instead of 5 is because ot is very expensive, but for this quality it was worth it. If you're like me and have to save up for something like this you won't be disappointed.
In short, Geronimo is amazing. We arrived late (after they take their last reservation) as our travel had delayed us. Geronimo made an exception for us, and the food was exceptional itself. The wine list was impressive and the meal was followed by an equally amazing dessert.
Great service, great server, great food and a very nice atmosphere.
I can't say enough. (and I'm a picky foodie)
The maître d came across as snooty (blonde woman, short hair). We had a 7pm reservation and we were 5 minutes early - she seemed very unwelcoming because we were 5 minutes early. 5 minutes. Not 30 (where it would be unacceptable).
Besides the above, the service of the waitstaff was impeccable and the food was delicious. My lamb was perfectly cooked. My husband ordered the Elk medium rare but it came medium-well. We also had the Tuna tartar and Caesar salad. Loved that this Caesar had anchovies; as all Caesars should.
Dessert was perfect - we had the German chocolate cake. This was accompanied with Port wine.
Besides the start to our experience with the woman at the beginning - Geronimo was a good experience.
