The authentic Santa Fe cuisine on which Geronimo focuses is rooted in the traditional foods of the Apache and Navajo peoples, with some Spanish and Anglo-Saxon influences.

The bar, one of the largest and certainly the most unique in New Haven, offers over 500 types of tequila in addition to an extensive wine list and myriad top-shelf liquors. In winter, the expansive dining room, framed in slate and walnut complete with a leather wall, is warmed by an adobe fireplace (traditionally called a kiva). In the warmer months, the glass paneled wall, which offers a year-round view of Crown Street, opens up onto the largest patio bar and dining area in the region.

We are primarily reservation only, and we plan on 90 minutes per reservation. If you need more time, let us know when you book your table and we will be happy to accommodate!

After 9 PM, all guests must be 21 years of age or older unless accompanied by a legal guardian or placing/picking up a takeout order.

Always a great time at Geronimo’s. We had a table reserved in the front with an excellent server Emma. You never wait on a reservation we were seated immediately. We ordered drinks which consisted of a Moscow Mule, white, sangria, strawberry lime margarita, and a classic Mojito. We started with their delicious homemade chips, medium spiced, tableside guacamole, as well as the tableside mango salsa. The server gave us extra chips with the two starters they were delicious. For meals, we had the shrimp tacos my husband and I the Tijuana tacos for my daughter and the baby back rib dinner which my son said was absolutely amazing. The mac & cheese had a Mexican style to it, as well as the Mexican cheese on the street corn, which was on the cob. No one had room for dessert but if we did the Tres leches cake, and the churros would be my first pack. Service is always excellent. Food is always on point. We continue to keep coming back each and every time. Geronimo’s is definitely a place we visit frequently. Great everything all and if you haven’t tried it, you should. You won’t be disappointed.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Definitely a vibrant (somewhat loud) atmosphere but we still loved it. We went for dinner later on a Friday night so the bar crowd was kicking into high gear as we were leaving. Will definitely be back!

This is my second time and the food was just as memorable as the first! We made a reservation for Sunday morning brunch. The staff was very accommodating and flexible with the amount of people I had and where we could sit. The espresso was amazing. My shrimp tacos were amazing. The chocolate filled churros were absolutely AMAZING. Everything about my meal was enjoyable. Our waitress was very kind and considerate of my allergies. She let us stay at our table long after we should have left, and I thank her for that 🙏🏻

This restaurant has gone so far down hill. Been coming here since 2020. The guacamole is half the size that it used to be. They stuff the guac container half with chips and think that people won’t notice a difference? Seriously? Mediocre food. I think I’m done here.

The food is good overall. They need a new recipe for the rice though. I'd say it's not up to Mexican rice standards- Drinks are good and have a nice pour:) Guacamole Tableside is outstanding but the chips are greasy. Just a few tweaks would make this place outstanding!

Our experience at Geronimo's New Haven for date night was fantastic! I booked through Open Table and no issues. We were seated right away and the music was pumping and there was a lot of energy in the place. Our waitress was fantastic! She was bubbly and full of life. She made us feel welcome and honestly she was the best! She made recommendations for the menu and our meals were served in a flash. I enjoy visiting this location and would go back many times.

We loved this place everytime. However, we made a reservation for 9 pm during parent's weekend and because my son was under 21 the host didnt let us in saying it was not allowed during weekend anyone under 21 after 9. This is ridiculous ! You can always ask for id to sell alcohol. In any event previous notice should have been given of this rule. We were left without any place to eat since all restaurants around were fully packed given it was parents weekend. Extremely rude service.

Freddie makes the best (and most accurate spice level) guacamole, so we finally went on a night when he worked (Saturday). Exceptional. Our server was great, too. After the past three or so visits of either very delayed guacamole arriving after our dinner or never getting it at all, or servers so busy they seemingly forget about us, this visit was back to overall excellence. Tequila Cave is better for slightly less noise—one previous experience, it was exceptionally quiet for a late lunch. Saturday night I think they turned up the music too loud and everyone compensates. Almost impossible to hear either person in our small 3-person party, especially for the one who is deaf in one ear. It's uncomfortably loud for anyone who'd like to talk (and listen) amongst themselves. But we also know this going in. The food & guacamole are too good to miss, so keep those coming, Geronimo.

This place is great! Great food, drinks, and atmosphere! But it's the second time we had this server and the second time we left disappointed.. We would have loved to try more things from the menu, but we didn't have the opportunity.
