This was our second time at Germanos. The first was very good, so we returned. I made a reservation for 4, and we were seated promptly. That was the only thing that was prompt. We were seated outside, and it was a great evening for being outside. Our server came and introduced himself. We then waited a good bit even for water. He didn't understand English very well. When asked if they had Margaritas, his reply was "No, we only have Parmesan", huh? He then left and came back a few minutes later and asked if we were ready to order our meals. We had to remind him that we wanted drinks first. After placing our drink requests, we waited another 5 to 10 minutes. He came back again and asked if we wanted to order our dinners, we told him to bring our drinks first. Finally, they arrived..They were good. After ordering our dinners, we waited a good while for salads, which were on the small size, but were fresh and ok. Nothing to write home about. Then we waited a good 30 minutes before asking about our dinners. We were told soon. We then asked the manager, who also said "soon". Finally, the manager brought our entrees. I had the homemade pasta with a meat sauce - The pasta was hard, undercooked, either that or left under a heat lamp for a long time. Everyone else's dinners came and were enjoyed. Initially, I was going to eat my pasta, but after a few bites, I thought "why should I?" so I stopped the manager and told him about it. He told me it was homemade and "al dente", which I already knew, however, this particular serving was hard. He promised a new plate in "4 minutes". 15 minutes later, my replacement arrived, and it was properly prepared this time, but everyone else had finished their meals, by then. As we had other plans, we asked for the check, which was another 10 minutes to be presented. They made no concessions for the delays, and my undercooked pasta. It was another 15 minutes by the time we received our CC receipts. Very disappointed. Not sure we will go back.

Food and service were awesome! Eggplant Parmesan was the best I ever had. Appetizers, pasta dishes, chicken, salmon, and pork were all delicious. We went for a late lunch to celebrate a special occasion. We couldn't have been happier with the choice.

Went here with friends . The pasta was homemade and made with fresh ingredients. The service was very friendly. He answered all our questions, very attentive. He had a nice smile and personable . There are three dining areas. 1st floor has a bar. If you go upstairs the stairs are very steep. My meal was pasta and vegetables, excellent full of flavor, my husband had the lamb and also excellent. tender and a nice presentation The salad is very good too. Not iceberg, different kinds of lettuce I also had a cannoli, they say it is a homemade shell, but it is a waffle shell, good but not a traditional cannoli With dessert I had a very nice cup of cappuccino Will go back again and explore the menu

My wife and I went to Germano's Piattini for my 51st Birthday dinner. I was looking for a restaurant in Little Italy that had options for vegans. Unlike many of the restaurants there, Germano's clearly marks vegan items on their menus. The atmosphere is cozy and eclectic. The staff was very attentive, but not bothersome. The wine and food were tasty, priced appropriately and pleasing to the eyes. Portions were medium. I had a spicy pasta and my wife had cauliflower steak, both of which were very good, but not spectacular. I'd certainly recommend Germano's as a nice, comfortable restaurant suitable for casual dining, dates and special occasions.

Valentine’s Day Ruined – We made a reservation a week in advance for 7:45pm for Valentine’s Day. Upon early arrival (7:30pm), the host confirmed our name on the reservation list and immediately proceeded to sit us at the bar. We were confused and thought there was no formal dining area. Two couples arrived after us and were seated upstairs in what seemed to be one of the formal dining areas. We then talked to the host about our reservation made days ahead and he agreed to move us to the dining area. As we waited at the bar with no service, after 10 minutes of waiting he informed us that all the tables were full. We said it was fine and decided to leave the restaurant. At this point, the host tells us that he could find us a table. We said thank you and left the restaurant. They seemed unapologetic and gave no importance to us, the customers. Furthermore, every restaurant we checked on this very cold night in Little Italy was full due the special occasion. Luckily, we found a restaurant that was accepting walk-ins, but this experience definitely left a very sour feeling to our night. I would not recommend Germano's Piattini to anyone!

So who ever heard of an italian restaurant with an all you can eat brunch? It is basically a mixture of breakfast dishes with an italian twist and small plates. The sausage hash was really good although a little large and the ricotta was a really nice side. the fried egg in tomato sauce was interesting and a pretty light dish. Fried polenta with bolognese was great although the bolognese is a little too tomato-y. The gnocchi with bolognese and meatballs was excellent, very light puffy gnocchi the way it is supposed to be made. Meatballs could have been left off, they were a little tough, The french toast was unique, soft italian rolls with a light syrup run under the broiler, really tasty and light. All in all a great bargain and a good introduction to their menu. I am going back for a dinner after this.

We had a great waitress, Danny (sp), but the food was just awful. The fried calamari came with a red sauce that tasted exactly like canned tomato soup. The "fried" polenta was nearly cold and soggy, and had been topped with a very blah bolognese. The caesar salad was good; not great. I ordered salmon (I figured if the appetizers were any indication of quality, I wasn't going to load up on a bunch of calories from food that didn't taste good) which was incredibly dry and sat atop some cold cooked peppers. The gnocchi with gorgonzola sauce was an embarassment: hard balls of dough in a sauce that could not have been anything more than flour water and a small amount of butter or oil. Not a spec of cheese to be found. The third member of our group ordered a pork dish that came with cabbage and onions and was really the only dish of value. Such a shame that a restaurant that has been around as long as Germano's has seen the quality of its food degrade so much.

Went during restaurant week on a Wednesday evening, had a reservation for 8:30 pm. And were seated immediately, the bar area was empty and there were still a few tables open in the dining area so plenty of availability at that time.

Live music was advertised but was not present which was a bummer. They also ran out of bread, which was also a bummer.

The food (apps, dinner, dessert, coffee) was excellent and the wine recommendation was excellent. Would definitely return for the food and wine and for a true cabaret experience.

We came for restaurant week and had the Brussels sprouts, artichokes, tagliatelle ragu, salmon, and cheesecake. The Brussels sprouts and artichokes were fine but nothing amazing, and my tagliatelle was so overcooked, the noodles were almost mushy. Then, we had to wait over half an hour for our dessert to come... which was literally just cheesecake they had definitely already made and just had to put on plates. Barely any apology and no offer to comp any part of our meal. Waste of money.

Fantastic food, never disappoints. The beet ravioli is especially delicious. We didn't sit in the bar area this time, but I think I would next time- it has a really nice feel in there. The only critique I have is the service, or one particular server really. I have had her twice, she is fairly new I think, but she is kind of all over the place (clumsy, couldn't open our bottle of wine, just a little too in-your-face if that makes sense). For a date night at a nice restaurant, I prefer a server who is a little more refined (I know that sounds terrible, but it is true!).

We enjoyed our pre-theater dinner very much. The menu was described online as Italian "tapas" which was quite accurate, and perfect for us. We were able to sample appetizers, entrees, and dessert, plus wine by the glass, for a very reasonable price, and without feeling too stuffed. Everything was very fresh and prepared to order. We felt a bit squashed in, since only the front of the restaurant was open, with 5 or so tables. The menu had vegetarian and gluten-free options. The service was lovely - Amy made us feel welcomed and cared-for the whole time we were there. We will definitely be back.

We tried Germano's because of Open Table's reviews and we were not disappointed. This is a small, intimate restaurant that is both cozy and inviting. There is a great bar area with about 8-10 bar seats and high tops for many more (20?). You will be greeted when you arrive and made to feel like a returning old friend. The dining area is small but can be made to accommodate a larger group or smaller seating. Our server was absolutely the best in warmth personality and attention to details. Our party of 7 loved everything we ordered and left overstuffed because it was so good. Leave time to walk the charming Little Italy neighborhood after and you won't mind overeating a bit!

Superb food and wine. do yourself a favor and check it out. Entrees and appetizers had us rolling our eyes and insisting others tasted. Best gnoggies, ravioli, lamb.......Brussel sprouts, brucchetta ..........the chianti perfected the experience. Pardon my lousy spelling.......but the meal and experience were great. Our friends and us are returning soon. Way good. Mangia, mangia. Four stars plus

We were looking for a place in Little Italy to accommodate a large party

on Italian and had a large upstairs area for our party of 14. The servers
taking care were terrific. The food was okay, nothing really a standout
but not terrible.

We have dined at several different restaurants in Baltimore's "Little Italy". Germano's was the best experience by far. Food was excellent with both typical Italian dishes as well as new "takes" on traditional items. Always judging Italian restaurants on their Marinara Sauce - Germano's recipe gets a 10!

We love Germano's. We took our family to dine & enjoy the annual Madonnari Arts Festival (fabulous artists create chalk paintings on High Street), which Cyd & Germano created. It's a lovely way to reintroduce people to Baltimore's Little Italy. Germano's bar (which we really enjoy) was friendly (as usual), vibrant and the food was fantastic. Germano's is our 'go to place' in Little Italy. And the cabaret--with talented, creative talent--is a wonderful way to spend the evening.

What a find! Germano's is a real treat, much better than most of Little Italy. OK, the interior looks a lot like most Little Italy restaurants. The food however is much better. The Caesar Salad has just the right blend of garlic, anchovy and other flavors. The beet ravioli with mushrooms meld effortlessly. Nothing can beat the attentive service when the manager or owner is checking up.

From the moment hubby and I walked in to Germano's , we felt very welcomed. Our server was AWESOME!! I feel so bad that I can't remember his name. He was so knowledgeable about the menu --offering great suggestions, and such a nice, pleasant young man. We chose this restaurant for Restaurant Week, so I ordered off of the lunch menu. Hubby ordered the Lasagna Classico and a Caesar salad. The lasagna was the best we ever had! It simple melted in your mouth. I had the Polenta Bolognaise, and the grilled salmon with a fennel salad. Both dishes were to die for! We had apple mimosas and sangrias to round out the meal. We did not order dessert, as we were stuffed from the main meal. Hubby and I will definitely be returning to Germano's for dinner in the very near future. Can't wait to tell all of my friends about this wonderful restaurant!!

The wait staff (my waiter was Eric) know their job. He was attentive without being cloying, and very considerate. I appreciated that he was very knowledgeable of the menu, made a couple of good suggestions. I ended up ordering a special, the Hake which I was told was a new item. I hope they keep it on the menu. It was delicious, and I don't please easily when it comes to food. The chef handled this dish beautifully; a delicate and well balanced blend of seasoning that allowed each ingredient its place. Thank you for not overpowering it with onion or garlic, allowing the fish to be tasted.
