We love this restaurant. Always a great experience!
During COVID-19 I made a reservation at Georgia Sea Grill. The directions on open table clearly stated, if you have a party of more than 6 people you must call yo make a reservation. I went ahead and made a reservation for 6, and immediately called (a week ahead) and spoke to the hostess explaining we had 8 people so I was calling to make a reservation. She said she would put me down and to go ahead and cancel my reservation for 6 people on open table.
We show up to our reservation and they can’t find it. I explain to the hostess what I did, and she gets the hostess and scrambles to find us a table. We all happily squish into a 6 top table and don’t say another word about it. We are enjoying our meal, almost to dessert, and the manager comes out of nowhere. In front of my group, she interrupts our meal and she says “who made this reservation?” She proceeds to say “next time, you need to make sure you don’t cancel your reservation, you canceled it a week ago.” Again, I explain that the hostess had told me to do that, and she continues arguing with me. I was so embarrassed and almost in tears because she continued to argue on something that was their fault. She was so rude and unprofessional and I can’t believe she holds the title of manager. The rest of the staff, our server, and our food was great. I always love coming here, but truly hope that their manager reevaluates the way she treats customers.
Had a party for 6 for my wife's birthday. Service and food were outstanding. Seating was timely. Wonderful experience. Thank you so much.
During a time when Island dining options are restricted, GSG continues to knock its out of the part. The social distancing is done so you feel safe and protected. The food is frankly better than ever (and it has always been great). And the service is perfect.
Fabulous meal. RJ was our server-he and everything else was excellent. Highly recommend eating here when in the atea.
Excellent dining experience. Great food and service. This was our first visit. Will definitely revisit and recommend.
Wonderful variety of food and wine selections for the discerning palette. Well configured and elegantly presented.
Reservation was seamless- able to move me to a later time. Very accommodating. Also sat us in the corner as requested. I don’t recommend the piano room unless you are dining alone or want to sit at the bar.
A gluten free menu is available with many options including corn dusted oysters. Fish was fresh and semi-local. Well prepared. Market price.
Good food and well done spacing. Short rib portion was on the small side but very tender. Halibut was great!
Red snapper Cajun style - excellent, as was the crab cocktail.
While visiting neighboring Jekyll Island, I was looking for a nice place to celebrate my wife Janice’s birthday. The extensive menu and availability on Open Table led me to Georgia Seagrass Grill. The staff contacted me to confirm our date and time, and again when we had not checked in at our 6:15 scheduled reservation. The drive from Jekyll to St. Simons took a bit longer due to some traffic we encountered. We were about 5 minutes late, and the staff wanted to be sure we had found the restaurant and parking. Greeted warmly, we were shown to a nice corner booth with a view of all the activity on the street outside. You can see the booth in the pictures on the website. After being given menus and ice water, we were introduced to a young lady named Gina. We were impressed by her explanations of preparation and selections (with custom options upon request). After a most amiable conversation with Gina, we ordered seafood dip and entrees of bacon poached salmon and Cajun style triple tail over rice and peas. Both were delicious and very well prepared. (Try the fried okra when you visit.). We were alerted to “save a little room for dessert. Since it was Janice’s birthday, they comped her bourbon pecan pie, I enjoyed an old favorite—Buttermilk Pie. If you haven’t tried it, this is a great place to do so. Again, special thanks to the staff and especially to Gina for making a fine evening even more memorable. We will definitely return.
The Georgia Sea Grill is one of our favorite restaurants on St. Simons where we have many great restaurants. This was a special occasion to celebrate (or not) our granddaughters leaving for college. Landon was our server and did her usual excellent job. We had tuna, fried pimento cheese, and calamari appetizers (their calamari is my favorite anywhere), and salmon, shrimp & grits, and filet as our entrees. All were outstanding. In this time of social distancing, GSG does an excellent job!
This is THE best restaurant on the island!!! Take our guest all the time because I know we’ll never be disappointed!
Good, local fare with friendly staff. Their Cajun-spiced Triple Tail and Buttermilk pie were notable highlights.
Good food , drinks and service! Our waitress was excellent. First time here definitely going back! Went with a party of 6 had appetizers, salads, soup, different entrees and dessert everything was great!
Our first visit to the Georgia Sea Grill was fantastic. Our waiter, RJ, was attentive and knowledgeable. His explanation of the dishes was spot on and we enjoyed our choices. We arrived in time for the happy hour specials and chose the seared tuna appetizer which was quite good. The salmon dish on the menu was delicious, as was the catch of the day. I would highly recommend this restaurant and would be sure to make a reservation well in advance of our next visit. It was an excellent experience.
It was our first time visiting and our waitress Landon was awesome. She new the menu and recommended food choices which were Great! We also appreciated the restaurant management taking the Covid-19 seriously by ensuring the staff was wearing mask, taking temperature at the door and ensuring the tables were 6ft or more apart. Also the food was Outstanding!
When we arrived our table was ready. Service was prompt we asked that soup, small plates and main course to be spread out over the evening, which they were perfectly. Terrific wine menu and delicious craft cocktails. Can’t wait to our next trip, but living in Southwest Florida, it may be a few days at least!
Helpful waiter, great food, good presentation, did not feel rushed.
Best place I have EVER dined
The booth was really too small for four people. The orders was mixed up and I received we the wrong fish. Saying that, the waiter was very pleasant.
Everything was amazing. We tried the fried pimento cheese starter- highly recommend!! Grouper and Snapper dinners were both delicious. And the Pecan Pie for dessert was the best I have ever tasted. We will return the next time we visit SSI.
Everything was wonderful. Highly recommend!
Great food but weak wine list. Great service.
Great in every aspect. Grouper and halibut were outstanding. Following distancing protocol perfectly. Definitely recommended.
scallops and raw oysters were amazing, would go back again!
GSG obviously went to extreme measures to assure safety in regard to Covid19 while still providing a very nice environment and great food.
Thanks! Mark H.
In town for the weekend and this was one of the only places specializing in seafood we could get reservation for on open table. It was good all the way around - convenient on the main drag, easy side of the street to park, staff was very friendly, we noted my wife’s birthday in the reservation and they were great about it. Food was solid. The fried pimento cheese appetizer is exceptional. We all ordered fish dishes and aside from the portions of fish seeming small for $30, the flavors were great. Great drink menu. Terrific sides ... don’t miss the “johns” something black eyed beans side.
Great food. Customer service was awesome. We will be going back for sure
My wife and I eat here once a month and have never had a bad meal. Very appetizer and salad is fresh and delicious. We particularly like the fried oysters and tuna and calamari appetizers. Excellent ceasar salad. The fresh fish preparations are diverse and delicious. Don’t be fooled by the name as the meat entrees are incredible as well. Service is always attentive and prompt.
Wonderful as usual. Pan fried fresh catch, grouper!
Appreciate the care that was taken in following health safety precautions. Guest temperatures were taken, staff wore masks and we were seated at least 6 feet away from other occupied tables. The choice and quality of the food was excellent. And the service was excellent as well.
THE most amazingly delicious dinners, appetizers and desserts. Have already made my next date night reservation.
The service was excellent and the food was wonderful. I recommend the hush puppies and fried oysters for appetizers. We enjoyed every minute there.
The crab bisque is amazing!!! We try to eat at this restaurant every time we visit the area. They have a nice selection and their service is always excellent. One of our favorites in St. Simon:)
Visiting for our 20th anniversary, we had a spectacular dinner and our server, Landon was wonderful!
Best fresh fish we have had so far this week—outstanding!
