My husband and I spent a night in DC for fun. I chose Georgia Brown's b/c I was craving traditional southern cuisine. Georgia Brown's did not disappoint! The catfish fingers starter had a crispy coating but delicate fish texture. The biscuits and cornbread sticks with orange honey butter were a comfort. The Cowboy cut steak was huge and delicious. I had the Chilean sea bass. So delicious! Finally, we split the bread pudding. A perfect end to a fabulous meal! Our only complaint was we felt slightly rushed because the food came out so quickly. We would have been happier to space out the courses better.

Food was good our waiter was slow and seemed to think everyone around us was more important than us. I told him we needed few more mins to look at the menu before ordering and after that it felt like he was punishing us. This is one of my fav places to eat in DC now I’m not sure I’d ever go back!

I made my reservation thru OpenTable. Got to the restaurant and checked in w/ the host who verified our reservation and seated us. The food is overpriced and not all that great. I felt I could’ve had a much more tastier dinner at Longhorn Steak house as far as my steak and my sides are concerned. My date and I were limited on time so I didn’t have time to have my steak returned. I ordered a sangria and although it was with white wine that was all I could taste w/ a few fruit chunks in the glass. The waiter was very attentive, the restaurant was a ghost town @ 4pm until we left at 5:30ish so the noise level of course was low. But definitely not worth the $160 spent on the meal. Then I recv an email from your company accusing me of doing a no show and when I mentioned the above & that I had a receipt to prove it. Your company then suggests that the issue was the fault of the restaurant, however, it was your accusatory email that invited me as a consumer and customer. Your company never investigated & only assumed I didn’t keep my reservation and instead of inquiring, your company was extremely unprofessional and rude and I considered it harassing on several levels. Your company needs to rethink your customer service tactics, accept responsibility for your failure in properly investigating a concern and change the wording in your emails. No one should be treated like that and expected to continue being a patron. I have every intention of spreading the word about this incident. Plain disgusting and shameful, more do on your company’s end since your company is responsible for the disgusting email I received.

The service was exceptional. Took my Mom to Georgia Brown's to celebrate her 89th birthday and had requested specual accommodations relating to her mobility issues. They were absolutely wonderful in selecting a table that allowed easy access to ladies room, as well as, requiring munimal manuvering to be seated. Thank you so much. Mom really enjoyed the outing.

Could not decided between the deconstructed Jambalaya and the Gumbo. Went Jambalaya and the waiter brought a small side of Gumbo so I could compare. Both OFF THE HOOK! Great food and great service.

We were promptly seated at a nice table and told that our bread was on the way. It arrived shortly after I asked about it when we were served our soup and salad. Delicious cream of mushroom. We shared the Devil Shrimp, good, but they like salt here. Wanted a light desert, so ordered sorbet. It was crunchie, with ice cubes. Waited for check for a while until I was able to flag down the waiter. They need to pay more attention to detail.

Second time dining at Georgia Brown’s and it was just as good as the first. Treated my Dad to his first brunch experience and he couldn’t stop talking about it afterwards. Besides the awesome buffet, he especially enjoyed the live band and being able to take an entree home. We have family coming over the weekend and we’ll be treating them to the best brunch in D.C.

Georgia Brown’s has been a favorite for us for years. We decided to go back since a while had passed. We had dinner reservations for a Sat at 9:30pm. We were a bit surprised at the decline of the restaurant and lack of quality of service. The service did not match that of a higher quality restaurant. It wasn’t horrible however it wasn’t good either. The food was fine but as with the service and restaurant condition, it seemed to lack the extra attention and pride of a quality restaurant. It seems like the restaurant has become tired and stopped striving for excellence. Unfortunately I don’t see us going back to this previous favorite given the many new options in town.

Server was nice enough but not good on details.

We ordered the fried green tomatoes, which needed salt and extra sauce to make them palatable. We shared an entree, beef ribs, which were cold, dry, and tasteless. Many places will split the meal for you prior to bringing it to the table. That did not happen here. Perhaps it’s their policy. In any case, we sent them back and asked for a menu to order something else.

We ordered another entree—Devil Shrimp, $30, that contained 3 vastly overcooked shrimp that were so rubbery we couldn’t eat them. The spinach and mac and cheese were hot and tasty, though, and all that we were able to eat.

Won’t go back again anytime soon, if ever.

The fried green tomatoes were not good. We barely touched them, the waiter noticed, but charged us anyway. Husband ordered the fried chicken which was very good. But, rather than collard greens, he asked for spinach. Collard greens arrived, and rather than take the plate back, they just brought out spinach. Problem is, chicken was atop the collard greens and the juice from it was all in the mashed potatoes. It ruined the dish if you didn’t like collard greens. Mom loved the seafood risotto.

I have not been to Georgia's in a while. I was more than satisfied to see that it has not changed (the food is outstanding). I took my daughter for Sunday brunch and I think she is now hooked. I am planning several return visits with friends. I am hopeful that someone will reciprocate!

We had a large party there for a last minute thanksgiving meal due to some changes in plans. The restaurant was surprisingly busy but the ambience was nice. The highlight of the meal was the bread served at the beginning, everything else was so so. We understand it’s hard to prepare a lot of turkey meals when that’s not your specialty, so the service more than made up for it.

Very Disappointed. We were there for Thanksgiving and it was way out of our price range but decided we should just do it anyway. Before making resevations we reviewed the menu. There was something for everyone. We get there and we were seated in the main aisle way-not on it-in it. I finally requested to be moved. Then they handed us a menu-when we ordered-they kept sayng they had changed that to something else. The food was only ok... not good. Sorry! We wanted it to be a special memory for our family...disappointing.

Overpriced is the first word that came to mind. I love brunch here, but Thanksgiving dinner was a dud. :( Stove top stuffing, salty Mac and Cheese, borderline dry turkey... Collards were good. Just not spectacular (or memorable for the right reasons) for the price.
