Can't go wrong with the Fried Chicken. That's my usual. This time I went with the crab stuffed shrimp and that was definitely on point. My fiance got the gumbo and that was good too. No complaints with my experiences thus far.

I took my son knowing he would love the food and I too was excited to go as I hadn’t been in over 20 years. Made a reservation and was seated immediately. Food was excellent as I had remembered.
I was however disappointed with our server as once her friend was seated a few tables down from us, she hardly paid any attention to us. The food is spicy and on more than one occasion we asked for more water and she forgot. I ordered wine when we sat down and it didn’t come for awhile. It seemed like she was rushing us along so she could go sit with her friend.

Georgia Browns is an amazing experience of epic proportions. It began with being greeted warmly at the door by the host, enjoying an amazing server who kept us entertained and well taken care of for the entire night. The meals were absolutely outstanding. Don’t forget to enjoy the biscuits and cornbread with the peach butter. And definitely enjoy a signature cocktail. Always memorable, worth every dime, DC mainstay, DC gem!

I've been to Georgia Brown's many times over the years, even for Thanksgiving dinner. This time had the crispy chicken livers, which were great and the tomato dish, also very good. Hadn't had the fried chicken in a while so ordered that and thought the chicken was very dry. Wish they would offer dark meat options. Nice place and the service was superb.

A really great place for good southern food. It is conveniently located near the McPhearson Square Metro station on the Orange, Silver and Blue line.

Food was excellent. I sampled the shrimp and grits, catfish fingers and gumbo. All was out of this world.

It is a noisy restaurant though and the quarters were a bit cramped around our table. The server was very accommodating but was severely tasked with keeping up with all his tables. All in all it was a very good dining experience but not perfect.

This was my second time here. The first time was great but this time was not. Service was great but the food. Our bread came out cold and then I ordered the Devil Shrimp with Mac and cheese on top of spinach. The shrimp stuffed crab was dried out. It came out luke warm. The waitress took the food back and I believe they just put it in a microwave. It came back hot but drier than it was the first time. My fiance would not let me send it back so he ate it. I have to say I was completely disappointed and I will probably not go back.

Our 1st impression from the hostess was not the best. She did not smile. Then she tried to seat us in this oddly diagonally positioned table. We were a party of 4 and one of the people would have to swish against the wall and a 2nd person had very little space to pull her chair out since the tables were so close. We were unable to pull the table away from the next table due to the wall. I went to the hostess to explain the table was very tight for my party of 4. She appeared annoyed, then pointed in front of her and said that the ONLY available table was the one directly in front of the hostess stand. Mind you this was a Sunday 6:45 reservation and the restaurant, while busy, seemed to have a number of open tables. We took the other table which was much better, but we had to move ourselves. She did NOT help in any way. I have previously eaten here but the rest of my party had not. Needless to say, this was NOT a good first impression. Our server was very attentive, but he did not offer much guidance on the menu or enthusiasm on the dishes. Maybe he was distracted or overwhelmed, but further information on the menu could have lead to a higher bill as we would have ordered more. Instead we skipped appetizers and dessert. My only service complaint would be that there seemed to be several bussers and I had to flag someone down a couple times for a water refill and my one companion never received a refill on her ice tea. We still enjoyed our food, but if we had received better service, we might have been even more wowed.

I hadn’t eaten there in years. We had a lovely time. We took our daughter who is attending GWU to dinner while in town. If I had any criticism it would be that it may be time to do an overall sprucing up of the place. Some areas looking a little long in the tooth.

I haven’t been in years, I was very excited to go back for brunch but i was let down. Live music and service was good but the food choices and the food was overrated. Not a high class restaurant TOME anymore. Plus the chocolate fountain made it feel like Golden Corral.

I'd like to think of myself as a brunch aficionado so, understand it's not a game for me! I must admit the last time I brunched at Georgia Brown's I was highly disappointed. It's unfortunate to say our service was horrible. I vowed never to go back because I was disappointed how management handled our party. However, I found myself making reservations (for a smaller party) to see if things had gotten any better. After all, the food never disappoints here. Not only was the service better but the entire experience was too. I'm glad I decided to make another reservation and I'm glad service improved. Our server was personable and extremely pleasant.
I could have swam in the mimosa (not a bad thing)! It was all around a great brunch experience. I hope it is consistent moving forward.

We thoroughly enjoyed Georgia Brown’s: The service was outstanding, and the food far exceeded expectations! The shrimp & grits entree was delicious. The mac & cheese side may have been one of the best we’ve ever had. We also recommend the bread pudding.

As a Southerner, DC is sometimes tough for me. Exotic food, tastless food, and stuff I have to ask how to eat is not something I love doing. Georgia Browns has that familiar food I love. But also as a Southerner, paying $45 for a brunch that doesn't include booze is shocking. The food is nice, but it's not $45 nice. It's all inexpensive Southern fare. Southerners eat it because it's good and cheap. Charging $45 for something that may have cost them $5-7 per person is obscene.

There's a similar restaurant in Nashville, Monell's, which has similar quality and taste for $25 Sunday Brunch. And it's in a Southern Mansion with much more attentive service and beverages other than water (non-alcoholic, but still).

It was great food, but you can't charge people $45 for Southern food. It's insulting. And the staff was far less than attentive.

Also, get rid of the to-go bags included. I had to lug it all over town in an oversized brown bag. Maybe you could reduce cost there. Or include it for a nominal fee.

We had a great time. We were celebrating our anniversary. We were seated immediately. Our server, Merle, was attentive and very patient with us, particularly with our indecisions with ordering and the changes we made. I had the pork chop and my wife had the trout. Both were properly cooked and very flavorful. An excellent evening.

The service was good but the overall length of the dinning experience was short. We have been at McDonald's and spent more time waiting on our food. My wife and I did not even have a chance to finish a bottle of wine and talk about our experiences of the day in D.C. We both felt as we were being rushed to eat and get out for the next group of people. The food was over cooked and over priced for the experience that we had at Georgia Brown's. The fried chicken was overcooked and dry, considering they are know for the fried chicken. We have been to many dining establishments over the years and I would have to rate this experience as one of the top 5 disappointments.
