The server seemed out of it. The food was good but could've been better. We got the gumbo (was expecting more sauce and more spice), shrimp and grits (a little on the sweet side), and jambalaya (literally meat and rice on a plate). The collard greens were really good. Especially with the housemade vinegar (phenomenal). The scallops are very delicious as well as the fried green tomatoes.
The place is lovely and the wait staff was great; however, the food was horrible. I ordered the Deviled Shrimped. Which should have been crab stuffed shrimp with an order of Mac and cheese and a order of spinach. When the order arrived the Mac and cheese was watery and on top of the spinach. You would think the combo would have had flavor but it didn’t. The shrimp should have been wrapped in crabmeat but i had a hard time locating and crabmeat in the bread mixture they used. This food was horrible. I should have ordered chicken, you can’t mess that up.
Overall we really enjoyed our dinner. They were busy but we had a 6:30 reservation and didn't get our meal until after 8:00. With 2 kids it seemed rather long and we waited for everything.
Staff was so nice and friendly and the food was delicious. We would definitely revisit but might think twice if we had the kids with us again.
I had a great time and the food was delicious . I would recommend Georgia Browns
Go for the brunch....be prepared for an enjoyable event.
The food and service was great. The sitting was too tight, hard to hold a personal/private conversation without people sitting at the next table hearing.
A great dinner. First southern meal experience. Would go again for sure.
The food was average at best, tables too close - arranged so you possibly paired with another party. Have experienced better food at chain restaurant... sorry.
Service was slow to come to table and seemed pretty inexperienced. Food was bland and sounded much better on the menu than it’s actual execution.
Overall experience was awesome. Wait staff great, food and dessert great! We will be back😀
Our server and food was excellent!
My husband and I went to celebrate our Anniversary. We were 20 minutes early and they were able to seat us right away. Our waitress was attentive and very friendly. Everything was friendly and attentive.
The fried chicken was juicy and fried to perfection.
The food was good but the service was horrible. The waiter forgot to bring out my pregnant wife’s salad plus he got our order wrong. The waiter was not attentive to us at all. Really poor service.
The host Angel is AWESOME, our server was fantastic!
I went for Valentine's. It was great! It was great food and service even on a busy evening.
Booked my reservation early for Valentines Day was disappointed at the set menu offered, menu offered wasnt bad but wasnt able to try some of their interesting items
I took my wife there for Valentines Day and everything was great!
It was great , except it would have been nice to know that they were only offering a limited menu got valentines days.
A wonderful treat in DC to have Southern cooking. Room can get loud during the busy dinner hours but calms down as the evening progresses. Considering the other expensive DC food options, this should be on everyone's list to experience.
The waiter took a long time to come to our table. He did apologize for the wait. The food was good but not great. The biscuits and cornbread were a little bland. The chocolate pecan pie had too many pecans in it. I remember having tastier dishes here years ago. You get a generous amount of alcohol in the cocktails.
Loved the cornmeal crusted catfish. Enjoyed most of the deconstructed jambalaya-the duck was not a favorite. Service was great.
Very nice ambiance for Sunday Brunch. The jazz and food was very good. Great customer service!
Great food. Loved the fried chicken and collard greens. The fried green tomatoes were the best I ever had.
The food was very tasty and presented in a very appetizing manner. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The waiter was very attentive and patient. The dishes come out hot. This was an overall enjoyable dining experience. We were out enjoying a family gathering. This is family friendly restaurant.
The food was delicious. My party and I were able to communicate and enjoy the jazz music.
The menu definitely needs to be update for example I ordered the Brussels sprouts and when they came out they were shredded. That needs to be stated because I definitely would’ve ordered something else. Overall great service would recommend that the server check on the guest more often . Would definitely go again !
The food, as always was good Southern comfort food. The fried green tomatoes are consistently the best! I had the crab cakes, also consistently good, and my friend had the deconstructed jambalaya, which is a great way to enjoy it.
Our service was a little lacking this time. The restaurant was at capacity and it seemed that our server had too many tables to handle. He was friendly, but seemed distracted. It took over 20 minutes after we were seated to give our drink orders, and when we finally ordered our food, he came back 5 minutes later and had to ask us again what we ordered. As the crowd thinned out, he was much more attentive, so I'm very much inclined to believe it was less about his individual level of service, than about the restaurant not staffing appropriately.
Still, this is a great place to eat if you want creative takes on standard Southern food and as we were looking forward to having a relaxing dinner with no time pressures anyway, it didn't really detract too much from our experience.
Excellent! Food was great and service was wonderful!
My first time there; food was excellent, I highly recommended the shrimp and grits so good.
