It was fine but definitely nothing special. Wine had a very high mark up.
The restaurant was very nice and cozy my wife and her friend really enjoy the cocktails and the food ,very good vegetarian choose our waitress was so awesome she was perfect. We will come to this restaurant again if you're downtown it's a must visit Georgia Brown restaurant keep up the great work staff and the chef's.
Great southern food. I had the shrimp and grits because of the server's enthusiasm, and it did not disappoint.
Amazing food. Noise level is very loud.
The service and food were amazing!!!
Tried something new it was good, wouldn’t say excellent since it is not a steakhouse. I was satisfied!
The best fried chicken in DC and the best service anywhere. I love the people and the food at Georgia’s!
I was visiting from San Franscio had dinner with brother and sister in law. We have some of the best food in California, the food here was pretty close to Cali. Our dinner was excellent and the service staff was very attentive.
Very busy. Pretty restaurant. Main courses came out before appetizer. Appetizer on house. My roast chicken too tough to eat. Husband’s fried chicken cold in center. Biscuits Luke warm and dry. Salt bomb. Disappointed! Had heard so many good things and having lived in the Charleston for many years.... Well, bad night for GB’s!
The food we ate at the restaurant was good...However, the food we took home was AWFUL...Very overpriced!
$4 for soda
Not worth it...Lower the price and KEEP the take home meal!
Visiting DC again. I had not been to the restaurant in years....same great food, same great service!
I dunno....the fried chicken didn’t blow my skirt up. My server was so sweet and such a gentleman (I was dining alone) but the food was just so-so.
My husband and I haven't been in years and it was a perfect date night before the Tiffany Haddish Comedy show.
Great restaurant, excellent food and outstanding service.
This is my favorite “must go” places when I’m in DC. Have been coming here for years and the quality of service and food has never faltered. The wait staff treat you like you were meant to be there and don’t take it for granted. Bar area and tables are tightly situated so hard to have intimate or confidential conversations but that’s ok. The food and service upend that issue deliciously!
Delicious food, sat a bit too close to other people and a bit noisy.
We had a full meal including an appetizer and dessert. I highly recommend the calamari.. The sauce that comes with it and the breading was delicious. Shrimp and grits is my go to and it came out piping hot and yummy. We were really full but decided to get the chocolate pecan pie which was so good!
Everything was just awesome!!!!! It was my anniversary and i wanted to surprise my wife with something different, and a friend told me about it... i really didnt know what to expect until i got inside ... and was greeted with a smile....just awesome!!!!! I'll be coming again soon..
I had the catfish and I love it but the green salad looked not so good and certainly not enticing
The shrimp and bacon appetizer my colleague had was very good and otherwise all was good but not very good. I will go back though because I love the shrimp and grits.
I've been before and enjoyed lunch and dinner experiences. However, I wasn't aware of the Sunday brunch setup. Tasted some really good items (the grits were PHENOMENAL). Service could have been much better and more consistent (different bartenders gave different information about the menu). The live music was great, as well. I would return, just not for the brunch (too pricey).
Came to this restaurant to celebrate my Uncle birthday, by having brunch here at Georgia Brown’s. Food was fantastic, service amazing and the band was off the charts. Such a family oriented, cool vibe. Definitely worth the price!
Had an excellent time. The food is tremendous. The jazz band was stellar. Will definitely come again the next time I am in DC.
When we arrived the hostess was unfriendly. We had a reservation for 4 and the hostess thought it was for 3. We requested a booth and the hostess refused to seat us there instead she sat us at a crowded table in the busiest section. There was no space. The expensive drinks were sugary and watered down. The food was bland no seasoning. The rice was hard. What more can I say...speechless and disappointed. They left the soul out of soul food. I will never go back. The restaurant is definitely overrated and overpriced. I’m not disappointed by the small portions considering how horrible the food was.
The southern cooking was absolutely delicious, the portions were ample, the atmosphere was beautiful, and the service could not have been better or more inviting. If you crave Fried Green Tomatoes, Buttermilk Fried Chicken or Jambalaya, this is the place to go. The brussel sprout side dish was incredible and the peach butter with cornbread was finger-lickin good! You must leave room for desert - the bourbon pecan pie left me a bit tipsy... it was delicious! The one item that did not meet our expectations was the bread pudding - found this to be a bit dry. Definitely coming back and highly recommend this restaurant! Our server, Kyeba, was AWESOME - she made our evening!! :-)
First class service. Delicious meal prepared to perfection.
We had friends in from out of the country and were totally embarrassed from the quality, taste of food and slow service. We have dined here before and that experience is what brought us back with friends. Never again!!!!!!!!!!!
I made reservations but it still took a while to be seated. It's loud and we were seated near the band which didn't help. We tried to get another table but were told the only available table was just in the front of the band so we stayed with the table we had. All that aside, the band took a break and we were able to talk and hear each other; the food was good and I really liked the sweet potato cheese cake.
A great place to eat when visiting DC. Emily, our waitress was spectacular!
First Time @ The Jazz Brunch, it was great food & service!!
Seated right away. Great food and music. Will highly recommend.
Overall service was nice but the atmosphere was very loud. You could here EVERYONE'S conversation.
Overall our experience was good. The food was excellent. Service was a bit slow. Server must have just started their day, was not aware of the specials of the day (which was included in the menu). After they discovered our request was on special, they did come back and let us know. But didn't order the special as request. Our main dishes were plenty and we didn't miss the appetizer.
I had quickly stopped into town for a meeting and Georgia Brown's was just up the street. I'd been there for Sunday brunch, but Saturday dinner was great. My server was attentive and the roasted chicken and sides were very well done. The squash dumpling starter was divine.
We always thoroughly enjoy Georgia Brown! Their Sunday brunch it’s absolutely fabulous along with the great music I wish they had more nights of music!
I frequented Georgia Brown's often 10 years ago, it was a wonderful place to dine. I returned to the restaurant for the first time in 10 years on Saturday 2/24/18, for my birthday dinner. I was so disappointed in my experience on Saturday. The ambiance was dingy and so was the crowd hanging around the door. But I was really shocked at the quality of food. The chicken was dry, the green beans were overcooked (salty and mushy), and the black eye pea succotash tasted and looked like someone just threw a package of frozen black eyed peas and corn together in a pot. I couldn't believe that my friend had to pay $26 for that. I could have had a better meal Boston Chicken. My friend felt similarly. My family is from New Orleans and parts of Georgia, I would never take them to Georgia Brown's. In addition, we had four different waitstaff trying to clear our plates before we were finished. I recently learned that the restaurant is no longer owned by it's original owners, that could account for the poorly created regional southern fare and hospitality. So sad!
As the name implies this restaurant specializes in southern comfort food that is exquisitely prepared. The wait staff is very professional and knowledgable about the menu. I was there on an early Saturday afternoon and the crowd was minimal. The portion size was quite generous which made the temptation to over-eat too much for my limited self discipline.
This was our first time dining at GB's. The server was professional and attentive and knew the menu well. The food did not meet our expectations. My friends and I are all from Mississippi and Alabama, so we know what Southern comfort food is and what it should taste like. The consensus was that it wasn't bad/nasty food, but it wasn't good enough for us to come back again. Suggestions: increase seasonings significantly, consult some chefs who grew up eating and cooking Southern comfort food, and lower your prices.
Great place with excellent food service. Great cocktails
I had the deconstructed jambalaya and the peach sweet tea for dinner and the food was excellent. The service was exceptional and made me feel like I wasn't in D.C.
