I took my husband here for Father’s Day.
The food was just ok, nothing was delicious. The waffle was basic, the shrimp were shrimp, the salmon didn’t have any special seasoning. The drinks were good. The service was excellent! The music was really loud.
Not as good as I remembered. Poached eggs on several dishes were basically hard boiled/overdone. Salmon dish was way over-cooked and tasty very fishy. Service was good.
I have visited several times and today was a disappointment. Bland or over cooked food and for Father’s Day no less.
Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Our waitress Mikelle ??? was on point. We never had to look for her, she was extremely attentive to her tables. If something was delayed she was apologetic and brought it out herself or provided an update. The hostesses kept the guests flowing, I walked in a few minutes early and was immediately seated as were everyone who arrived after me (front row view).
If you want to dine there, make sure that you make a reservation. The house was packed and the food was worth every penny.
I raved about this restaurant to my family and friends quite frequently. Georgia Brown's was always my first choice for brunch. Myself and a couple family members in town decided to go to Georgia Brown's yesterday. This is the first time I've ever been disappointed. Things have totally changed, and not in a good way. Wait times for food was extremely long. When food arrived, more times than not, it was cold. The salmon was dry. Service overall was poor, over priced, just plain not worth the cost for such poor quality. I never thought I would say this about Georgia Brown's.
Brunch was terrible. Omelet was burnt and dry. Service was poor for 70 dollar per person plus 20percent gratuity...everything was poor quality
So disappointed. I've been a few times before this was the worse ever and will never go back. 300 dollars on nothing .
I was disappointed to find you no longer get to take an entree home with you when ordering from the brunch menu. This should be stated somewhere. Otherwise, I would not have chosen this location for $69 per person plus tax and an added 20% gratuity for four especially when one of the four was an autistic adult who ate very little off the menu and does not consume alcohol. The service was really good and so was the food. However, I don't feel the price was worth it. We were told the option was eliminated due to no restrictions which made no sense to me considering some restaurants have been operating in a carryout mode for at least a year now. Also, there was no live jazz music. Again I think all of this should be specified. Not sure I will be back anytime soon under these conditions.
We spend Father’s Day here every year and are never disappointed. The ambiance, service, food, all impeccable. We love it.
We enjoyed the small plate, as many as you want option as opposed to the buffet. Our server was attentive and awesome! Looking forward to our next experience.
The table was extremely small. The waiter made me feel like she forgot about us. Took forever getting back to us. The food was a bit bland and some wasn’t good at all. Not what I expected at all.
Still one of the best restaurants in DC. Great food. Great waitstaff. Great atmosphere and location.
It’s great that that basically have the same menu from before. Excellently prepare! The same corn bread and sweet butter. Even one waiter from before. One thing, some of the waiters were speaking to each other in a loud voice. It seems they are not used to an elegant restaurant protocol.
Good southern style food. It’s a place I have been to multiple times
This was a extremely disappointing experience. Everything had changed for the worst -- the lack of the Sunday brunch buffet, the noise level, the quality of the wait staff (with the exception of "Essence", who was phenomenal), no live jazz.
I will not be returning.
The ambiance of elegant blackness was beautiful. The old school r&b Playlist had the entire restaurant singing. Downfall was the long delay in getting our food and drinks. Our last course took so long was asked to skip it and get the dessert.
Overall it was a good brunch. I may just do dinner during the week.
Great experience. Perfect for talking to your friends and very friendly atmosphere with everyone chatting across tables. Lots of good food delivered to the table for brunch. Wait staff is friendly. Not an inexpensive brunch but it is all you can eat and a good value for the money-do not let price deter you, it is worth it.
Loved the brunch! Food was delicious. Service was great. We were seated outside and the noise level was low and great for conversation.
Food was good, drinks were good (mimosas) although I immediately got a headache so the champagne may have been cheap. Service was excellent. Price was too much. You automatically pay a 20% gratuity. What cost $69 easily turned into $91 which is too high for the type of food they had...I won't be coming back due to the cost
We had a beautiful 20th anniversary, the employees were great, we go there once every year for our anniversary, God has been good to us.
I wish I had a better experience. I had taken my girlfriend here to celebrate our anniversary. The decor was great and the food was good. I had a rotisserie chicken with green beans and potatoes. Very well cooked. Had no complaints about the food itself. However, the service was slow and felt ignored by the staff. We arrived at our reservation time and had to wait an additional 15-20 minutes while another couple we were with that had the same reservation time got sat down immediately. After we got our seats, we ordered drinks which then took another 20 minutes to come out. They got my girlfriend's order wrong and we had to wait an additional 10-15 minutes before our food came out. Overall, I would go back again because the quality of the food was good and in hopes the service would be better. No one was rude, it just wasn't the greatest experience. Just wished the staff was a little more attentive.
Even with the reservations we still had to wait 20 minutes. Our server was attentive and had excellent customer service skills.
I haven’t been to Georgia Brown in over 10 years. I sadly was disappointed by the food. It was not what I remembered but the service was impeccable!
The place was excessively, over the top loud for Sunday Brunch. The cooks stopped taking orders because they were behind. We sat for 15-20 min before they could take our order. My issue was- it was brunch, all you can eat but served not buffet style, so why would we have to wait . We walked out $264.00 lighter for a dining experience that left me with a throbbing headache and my 20 yr old ready to go somewhere and eat. The music was not conducive to a Sunday Brunch. Our waiter was really nice and tried to make it a better experience. I will never go back. One and done for me and my family.
First time here and loved it. Food and ambience was wonderful.
Great food and atmosphere! Our server was very attentive and answered our questions, despite how busy she was. The food was delicious and I think it was a great value for unlimited food and mimosas.
The overall experience was exceptional. The food and service were memorable. Diamond was extremely attentive and thoughtful. And the food was delightful.
Food wasn’t that great. Wouldn’t call it “soul food”
Sad to say, but I won't be back. I wanted to like this place but the restaurant smelled like dirty mop water. My side of mac and cheese had a dead fly attached to the bowl and they add an automatic covid gratuity charge. Only thing I can say was outstanding was the music selection.
Great food—as always. Service was a bit slow, but food made up for it.
Diamond was our server and in all the years going out to dinner, she was absolutely the best and nicest server ever!!!!!! She made the evening most enjoyable. And Iona was also a delight . Very well run restaurant
Food and service was awesome!! Definitely a place I am going to visit again.
The food was OK but the service was excellent. Would return again
Had Sunday brunch. Food was outstanding and service was prompt and efficient
The staff worked with us to make sure our friend’s bday party a great time.
This night we gather to celebrate my mother-in-law 60th birthday. We actually chose Capital Grille first, but we thought she may enjoy a great southern cuisine better; so we cancelled Capital Grille and reserved with GB (big mistake). We had 8pm reservations for party of 9. Reservations were made 3 days in advance. When we arrived we had to wait about 20mins at the door because the table wasn't ready, however the place was pretty empty. First sign of trouble was wavered when we thought "empty place means fast and great service". Needless to say we waited almost an hour to get our food. The waitress was extremely nice and very helpful to our concerns. My mother in law food was cold and plated incorrectly. The portions were extremely smaller than before and we felt like it wasn't a good experience. I regret chosing GB over Capital grille. We were going to make a reservation for brunch this Sunday, but after the experience last night we quickly decided against that notion. GB needs to hire more people and train better.
My experience was amazing. The management was excellent as well. Thank you for blessing us while we were there.
I came for brunch. Their brunch menu is small plates that you order as much as you want within your reservation time. When one order comes out, you put your next one in and so on. Within our two hour reservation we received one order and just two drinks (we waited about 40 minutes after we finished our first mimosa before getting the second). The manager did invite us back after addressing these issues so hopefully the next time we go I’m able to leave a better review.
Great food. Even with COVID, the waiter had the choices ordered a d delivered as fast as if I went up to the buffet and helped myself. Music and atmosphere made it a great brunch.
Very crowded and busy, atmosphere and vibe were great. A bit loud in the restaurant as other guest talked and laughed. Food was amazing, staff was knowledgeable and had great suggestions on drinks and food. Menu could use more additions/ options.
The service was amazing and the food was delicious. The hostess told us there was only one server but you wouldn’t have known. He was attentive to all of his guests and didn’t lack anything. The food was delicious and we will definitely be back.
