Georges Brasserie Ratings and Reviews
Our waiter started great but during the meal he be less attentive of our table,at one point skipping us and serving the guests on both sides. The food was excellent although the prime rib was a little over done. I'll be going back but will make sure I get a different waiter.
The music is incredibly loud and I could not wait to get out of there. It's ear splitting even in the powder room. We asked the waiters to turn it down, but we couldn't tell that they actually did so. The food was delicious, the menu had many wonderful choices, and the service was great, but unfortunately we will not go back again because of the decibel level of the music.
Food was excellent unfortunately I think they overbooked for New Year’s Eve which made for service issues. I did not get my drink for almost 3 out of 4 courses and had to remind the server several times. Also the timing between courses was all over the place, plates were never removed and would sit there for 15-20 minutes and then we were scrambling to push them aside when the next course was brought out. Just expect a higher level of detail in service from a fine dining restaurant.
It seemed they were short staffed. Our server didn’t introduce himself just filled our water glasses. It took over 20 minutes to get the hot tea we ordered and another 20 minutes to get my second mimosa. I wasn’t charged for the second mimosa but it was obvious we were the table forgotten.....
A little odd experience...restaurant was empty but for 2 tables and a backroom for a party. Still took us a solid 5 minutes to have a host sit us, after my husband went to look for them. Took another 40 minutes to get our lunches (including 2 kids meals). Waitress was fine. Just odd experience.
We went for Christmas Eve with a reservation. We waited over an hour to be seated. This created a stressful dining experience though we were understanding because it was Christmas Eve. It was obvious that they were overbooked and not prepared for the crowd.
For Christmas Eve, we were seated 50 minutes late after confirmed reservation and told sorry we just got busy.
Our server was overbooked and we had long stretches of time with no interaction.
We ordered the NY Strip Steak for our main entree and asked they be prepared medium to medium raw. When they came out they were very well done and relatively lousy.
No one asked us about our meal for over 30 minutes. We spent about $150 for a bad Christmas Eve dinner.
Recommend do not go during a holiday season go another time.
I’m not usually a poster of negative reviews, I’ve several friends that are restaurant owners and I’ve been an investor as well. That being said, today’s experience was especially troubling. We arrived for our reservation and the restaurant was about 70% empty. We were shown to a table in an uncomfortable corner and asked to be reseated to another 2 top that wouldn’t be so confining and after several minutes of debate and what seemed like extensive computer programming the older of the two hostesses schooled us on how it’s our responsibility to let her know if we wanted a ‘special’ table. I replied that we didn’t ask for a special table, just a different 2 top. I then was told it was an inconvenience for them due to server rotation (keep in mind this a restaurant that serves a buffet for brunch). She told us that if we wanted to wait in the foyer for 5-10 mins we could then be seated, when the wait staff was ‘ready’. When I said we’ll just go elsewhere she said fine have we could sit-not sure we didn’t leave, guess we were trying to give them a chance. We sat and were immediately greeted by our server and the booth adjacent to us was seated about a minute after us as was the table we originally asked to be moved from. Guess they solved the waitstaff issues. The service we received was ok, about what you would expect in a buffet experience.
The food was about as good as the hostess. The prime rib was so over done, even the carver apologized. The hash Brown’s and salmon were cold, the oysters dried out, and most items in the buffet line were 3/4 empty. We asked when we could expect fresh items to be brought out, we got a shrug.
This was our 2nd outing, this will be our last. Cafe Monte is far, far superior and just down the street and substantially better in every respect.
Georges is one of our favorite restaurants, but our service was poor. There was only one other table in the restaurant. The valet told us there was a private party there. It took a very, very long time to get our food. The trout was delicious. The chicken was a very small portion. I think the poor service was a kitchen issue not the servers.
