first visit and loved it.. our family of four enjoyed the many brunch offerings and small plates.. will definitely be back
We reserved a table for 10 for my friend's birthday. The food was good but the service was very slow to start and didn't pick up much as we only had one waiter. He ran around and did the best he could while two other waiters were standing around.
4/15/18. Went to celebrate two birthdays. They were very impressed
My first time here today with the family. We had 11:30 am reservations. It seemed like they sat the wrong family under my reservation, but we were seated quickly after they realized their mistake. We were greeted by our waiter Phil. He was very informative since we were newbies. The breakfast brunch buffet was great. My favourites were the oysters, omelette station, prime rib and the creme brulee. My husband and children also enjoyed it. I inquired about the bottomless mimosa deal. I was informed that they no longer offer that. The alternative is to purchase a $14.99 bottle of champagne and they give you unlimited orange juice with it. Overall, we had a great experience. The food was delicious and our waiter Phil was very attentive. We will go back.
The food was decent, but the quality of the food was underwhelming. The buffet was cold, and the desserts were dry. All of it looked very good, but the quality of it was not what I had expected. It was a rather expensive meal to have mediocre food, particularly being cold and dry.
Literally the best Sunday brunch experience I have ever had in Charlotte. Selections were fantastic and we loved the small plate menu that was included with brunch.. Service was exceptional. Accessible but not intrusive. We will be back often. Wonderful experience
The food was mediocre. The service was good and the waiters were very pleasant. They need to upgrade the food
Brunch was phenomenal. The service was on point. Price is excellent compared to food options and preparation. Classy but comfortable. Excellent for our family.
Loved everything about this place. When I visit Charlotte I’ll be sure to visit
Wonderful food with great service! Very consistent after multiple visits.
Will definitely continue to return.
Georges Brasserie was a marvelous dining experience. The French influenced menu has a variety of selections and is absolute top quality. The filet is particularly tender and flavorful, and the desserts are sinfully good. A large variety of wine choices, coffees, salads, soups, and sides. Everything we tried was delicious. The servers are extremely knowledgable and helpful when making selections from the menu. Service is relaxed, refined, and friendly. I am so glad I found this place and will definitely return for another great dining experience.
Fantastic time for brunch and service was
Tops. A good selection of food ,including shell fish
I have always loved Georges for special occasions such as Mother's Day and Easter. However this Easter brunch my experience was not good. The attention to detail was definitely lacking. I noticed items on the buffet that did not have serving utensils, the buffet overall was sloppy with spilled food, and empty serving trays left unattended. The omelette station was unmanned for quite awhile. When I asked a service person who was out on the floor for spoons, she disappeared and never returned. I ended up asking the bartender for them. For the $100+ bill I paid for two of us, I was VERY disappointed.
Thoroughly enjoyed Easter Brunch yesterday, the buffet was magnificent, and I almost cried when I saw the huge platters of oysters on the half shell as I've become allergic in recent years, and I love them so. I took revenge on the shrimps, succulent, small and tender, the roasted salmon deserved a return visit, accompanied by fresh green beans with almonds, and broccoli. I skipped the "regular brunch items, eggs, sausage, bacon etc. and focused on coq au vin, a little overdone and thus not as tender as should have been, but still, great tasting. The dessert display was vigorously tempting, but I sampled only the excellent crème brulée, done to perfection. A small plate of beignet was left uneaten besides one bite, rubbery and not at all beignets. Save for that missed dish and the dry coq au vin, our Easter brunch would have deserved a 5 star. Nonetheless, we will be back as George's Brasserie is one of our top two Frenc restaurant in Charlotte. the other one being Aix en Provence.
Thoroughly enjoyed our evening from the friendliness on the phone when we needed to move our reservation time, to the way we were greeted by George, to our excellent server and fine meal. Highly recommend.
Oysters were so fresh as was the soft shell crabs! Lovely evening...always good.
Amazing and over the top service! Great food and comfortable atmosphere.
Everything was great!
Best brunch because it has the raw bar with all you can eat oysters! Mimosas are$4, not all you can drink, though.
Great Family Restaurant. Never disappoints!
Everything from the service to the food was amazing!
It was a delicious belated birthday brunch. I appreciated that notes were read for a preferred seating. Nothing special beyond that. Gentleman in suit totally ignored us until the end of our meal, mind you he greeted every table around us at one point. Food (especially birthday girl’s fav Mac and cheese!) was DELICIOUS! Will definitely consider for brunch again!
I have been a few times at Georges Brassiere, and every time it never disappoints. I m not from Charlotte but if I’m there I always go to Georges Brasserie, the food is spectacular, the service is always on point, they are amazing on costumer services and attention to detail and doesn’t hurt that the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. I’m very pleased with it and I will continue to recommend it.
Menu has been scaled way back to almost too thin. While they do some dishes well, there is not a lot of options. We had the charcuterie board and it can out with three soft cheeses, one of which was Boursin. C'mon you can get this in any grocery store.
Had a fantastic Sunday brunch! Great food at a great value! When I’m back in town I will definitely go again.
It was a good location for a meal with 6 friends. Most of our meals were good, red snapper was overcooked and mushy. Main complaint was the booming disco music track. All we needed was s mirror ball. Crazy that they’ve gone to lengths to look like a French bistro, but then play disco music. Management should be a little smarter about carrying out their theme and executing in their niche.
George's does not disappoint. Good food, knowledgeable staff and excellent service, makes George's an excellent choice for either brunch or dinner.
Really enjoyed the lobster roll yesterday. Great value for the pride. The music was too loud and hard to hear the conversation. When we asked the waiter to turn it down, he acknowledged us but the music did not go any lower. A small detail. Otherwise, great place. Wonderful menu and good choice for multiple purposes.
Sunday brunch was excellent. Good selection of proteins, sides, and desserts. Prime rib carving station is great. Raw bar is my favorite: oysters, shrimp, it’s all good.
Dining for 2 on a Thu evening @ 7pm. Restaurant was quiet with only 4-5 other occupied tables. We had reservations, but could have easily walked in. Seating was prompt and service courteous and attentive. Dinner menu here is simple and occupies only 1 side of the 2 sided menu with wine list on opposing page. There were enough choices to please most with selections from meats to fish to vegetarian. We selected the Calamari app and Salmon Nicoise and Duck breast for entrees. Food was well prepared and met our specific doneness requests. Having been here before during restaurant week, the feel of a random week night was quite different as this place like many others can swell with patrons and give a much different vibe and dining results. On this night, however, everything was as expected and dining experience was pleasant. We did not stay for desserts as the selections did not beckon us over the call of Amelie's a mile up the street... An appetizer and 2 entrees with water as drinks came in at @ $65 before tip. This restaurant is well established in the SouthPark area and a must try for anyone looking for a reasonably upscale experience.
In the past we’ve had good experiences at George’s but not on this particular visit. We went for Sunday brunch and both got sick from the food. On special order the wrong dish was brought to the table and it took an additional 25 minutes to get the correct dish. Also, our server was not attentive. There probably won’t be another visit in our near future.
In each of 5 different meals, food was excellent. Wait staff and manager were friendly and attentive. They were out of an appetizer we requested and gave us another one on the house. Restaurant is dimly lit with a lot of leather; very masculine old-school atmosphere. Not my taste, but food and service were so good that we will be back.
Always love dining at George’s!
The onion soup is a must! And I would recommend the Salad Nicoise which was terrific.
Fabulous brunch, highly recommend.
This review is for brunch only. The buffet may be the best in Charlotte. They have multiple healthy options - salmon, salads, fruit - as well as a full dessert buffet. Separate, fresh hot orders are available such as Eggs Benedict or Beignets, included in buffet pricing (these items just don't sit well on the buffet). Bloody Mary bar is fantastic. Crispy bacon.
Fun brunch environment!
Great brunch. Love the buffet with shellfish, salads, carving station, breakfast, eggs, dessert. Plus the ordered small bites are awesome. Shrimp and grits were delicious. Also liked the beignets and crepes. Such a great value at 25 per person. Will be back!
Dinner outside on the patio at George's on a nice evening can't be beat. Great menu and service!
This was my second visit here and just as good as previous occasion. (Actually sat at same table!!) It is a sizable restaurant with ample tables outside. The main entree selection is limited to 12 choices and frankly that makes it easier to choose. We each selected 4 different dishes: Scallops, Salmon, Duck Breast and Rack of Lamb. Portion sizes are sensible but you will be paying fine dining prices. Everyone loved their dish. We shared a cheese and charcuterie platter as an appetizer. Georges will become a regular venue for me.
Note : when booking via OpenTable it is advisable to call the restaurant on the day just to make sure they have your table booked. I had been to another restaurant (Upstream) several weeks ago and we were kept waiting for 45 minutes with people coming in after us and being seated!!
