Splurge for the tasting menu, you won’t be disappointed!! Have the wine pairing as well for a truly great experience. As good or better than any Toronto tasting experience for sure. Oh and bring your best friends.....
This place never disappoints when it comes to food quality and the service.
Worth every penny. Really wonderful meal but they very much know that and charge accordingly.
10 course was well worth it. My wife enjoyed her birthday dinner!
We had an excellent overall experience at George. It was my wife's birthday and it was a very nice evening. We had the blind 5 course taster menu. All of the courses were excellent with a broad range of flavors and textures. Service was friendly (not snobby), well informed and prompt. The evening went by in a flash. Thank you George!
Did the 7 course chef’s menu with wine pairings. Each course was delicious and the wine pairings worked great. The cooking staff makes sure to step around your dietary restrictions and preferences.
Truly enjoyable meal.
Quite expensive - but a good candidate for a special occasion.
I have been meaning to try this restaurant on every visit to the city and finally got there. My expectations were exceeded. Everyone was nice and entirely without pretension. Our waitress even flagged us a cab when it was time to go. We can’t wait to go back.
Had a great meal. The food comes out at a steady pace but be sure to plan ahead. A three course meal with desert will take at least 2 hours if you hurry through it.
We had a great time, the food was absolutely excellent, wonderful ambiance and service!
Food taste is good and the food idea is creative but compare to the price I could get more high expectation for the food. Good luck i did not try the taste menus, my neighbor ordered the taste menus, I saw that most dishes are too small and side decorate vegetables and sources are too much. I have to say the taste of the deserts are not good at all! Specially Avocado is not fresh. But I like their services that is excellent.
Fantastic food. Creative and delicious. Great ambiance.
Overall amazing experience. Absolutely wonderful. Food was excellent - super. Service outstanding.
We enjoyed the seven course tasting menu while dining at George. The portions are quite generous so we will stick to the five course next time! An excellent bottle of French wine was recommended and enjoyed by all. Lovely night out with friends!
Great experience and service. The price was a bit high but try it once at least.
One of the best meals I have had in a few years.....and I dine out a lot.
I just joined the club, and will attend other events.
Absolutely amazing experience! Food and wine was perfect and the service followed suit. Cant wait to go back!
Simply the best, great with allergies as well. Lucas and the whole team went the extra mile to ensure everything was perfect for our delicious 7 course meal.
1st table presented was not to our liking. No problem to get us a better location.
Service was very slow. probably 45 min before we could place our order.
We chose the 5 course option. Again , too much time between the the 5 servings.
My wife and I went to George Restaurant for the first time on Saturday evening. We were celebrating my wife's birthday. We booked the restaurant in February and were looking forward to this dining experience. We haven't stopped talking about our experience. We chose the 7 course tasting menu. It was very exciting in anticipation of the next course. Excellent service and catering to individual dining restrictions. Lucas our server provided impeccable service. Everyone seemed to work in unison, from napkins being folded, to filling of water glasses to having a description of each course.....ultimately the food was like an explosion of flavours in our mouth. We found this to be an incredible dining experience and are already planning for a return visit for our anniversary in July. Incredible experience!!!
This was our first time at George. We’re from Buffalo and come to Toronto several times a year, mostly to go to the theater or Art galleries. We’ve been to many great restaurants in TO and George was another great dining experience to add to the many great choices in Toronto.
Great food, service & ambience.
The service was spectacular. Rob our server was so fantastic . I would request to have him again. We had the tasting menu with wine pairing. Incredible food and wine experience. The ambience was warm and inviting. Would definitely dine there again when in town. Wonderful wine list. Superb!!!!!
The best experiences I have ever had at a restaurant.
Excellent food - great presentation, fantastic execution, both bold and delicate flavours. The tasting menu offers lots of little tasty surprises in beautifully presented dishes. Well worth the visit.
Excellent! Waiter was extremely professional and meal/presentation was great.
We went for a birthday Lunch and had the four course menu for $80. It was amazing. Love the chef’s “surprise” tasting plates and was great value. The only dish I didn’t like was the venison which is something I don’t eat. It went to my husband who said it was fantastic. We’ll be back for sure!
We had a terrible experience at this restaurant. Our server was very pretentious and super judgy when we were trying to order our meals. He had recommended we get the fixed course meals but we didn't want to do that. We tried to order the individual meals but the way he responded to our orders was super judgy. Then after we placed our orders, he didn't come back to even check on how we were doing or how our food was tasting. No one did. No one even asked if we wanted to order more champagne. This place was terrible. Incredibly disappointing. NOT worth the money especially because there are so many more great restaurants in the city.
Spectacular evening! Every detail thought of :)
The food was very good but small portions and a little on the expensive side.
The service was good but not exceptional. Our waiter could have been a little more attentive.
Amazing tasting menu
I have been to George before. This was my husband’s first experience. I took him for his birthday. This is more high end than he is used to, so I was a bit nervous, especially given some of the more recent less stellar reviews. George did not disappoint. Everyone was at the top of their game. My husband truly enjoyed the experience.
Too crowded and overpriced. You get better food, service and ambiance at Alo (which is cheaper and has more food).
Booked the resto in advance for Valentine's day. The restaurant is pretty neat, fairly big and the atmosphere is pretty good. I was recommended to try this restaurant a year ago by a friend. I had a mind set coming to the restaurant thinking that it will be somewhat pricey but you will atleast get a decent meal. Its also rational to charge more for meals on special holidays and events, but overall the meal was pretty unsatisfying considering a $175 per person price tag. I didn't really get to see the menu as the waiter somewhat rushed us to order drinks and to get started with the meal. Its neat that they served different courses for the lady and man, though thats all about it. The chocolate tasting dessert was far too sweet. I've had way better for the same price.
Food is always amazing, especially the tasting menu.
James was our Sommelier and he was outstanding!!!! I loved my experience here from start to finish. The food was vibrant, delicious and innovative!
Visited George with my husband for dinner on Saturday, February 10. The restaurant is located in a vibrant area, interesting architecture and style. As we arrived and reached the Hosts desk, we were asked for our time and name, nobody even tried to make an eye contact with us let alone ask us how we are doing or if we were there for a special dinner. We were seated in a very corner by the window and my husband asked to change seats as the space was too small and very cold air was coming from the window. We were asked if we would like a tasting menu and paring with it. We opted for a tasting menu and a la cart drinks.
As the food started coming, we noticed there was very little enthusiasm in a wait stuff to announce to course. In a matter of fact, they barely could pronounce the dish name and ingredient. It not sound too welcoming and intriguing. THE ABSOLUTE WORST PART was when they brought us our meat course and as we were about to put our forks in it, the waitress ran to us,collected our plates saying that the chef needed to check something and brought our plates to another table. WE WERE FLOORED!!!! No apology from the management, nothing, they just simply messed up the tables and brought the wrong food and took it away. BUT TO BRING IT TO THE NEXT TABLE!!!! are you kidding me. The only reason I gave a star for the service is to give it to the guy who was clearing our dishes, he was the only professional in the entire establishment. His timing was perfect, his attitude, his attention.... he went above and beyond. I think he is the only person out of wait staff this place should keep. Too bad I did not get his name.
Very poor experience overall. We visited a few higher end restaurants in the city, some where more interesting than others, but this place should not market itself as a high end place. Poor poor experience
This is far from fine dinning
5 course tasting menu, both vegetarian and non, complete with wine pairings, made for a very special evening out.
My Husband and our family (aunts and grandmas) have been talking about your restaurant forever - most have been. My husband went a couple yrs ago and love the food and experience and couldn't wait to take me one day. Finally, years after talking about it we travelled from Tbay to Ottawa for the weekend and decided to fly into Toronto specifically on the last day of our trip so I could experience "George". We paid for hotel and flights just for this dinner reservation. So we were very excited! Plus is was his 36th birthday and I even bought a new dress and everything. Food was excellent but service was horrible and I mean horrible. Very little conversations was had and our drinks went empty on 3 occasions (including our waters). I had to put them at the end of our table just so someone could see we wanted more. We watched as waiters actually looked at our table and I ended up having to ask for refills each time. I was actually embarrassed. At the very end when it was tipping time thats when the most conversation took place. He was really working hard for his tip. Also to strike a convo we asked for more information on a particular wine as we were doing the pairing with the tasting menu and they said they would go write down the info so we can purchase it, and she never did end up coming back. I was sad that his birthday dinner was such a bummer. For a 600$ meal the overall experience was something we talked about the whole way home. I was really disappointing a on the amount we spent to come to the restaurant, eat at the restaurant and the memories we are now left with from the experience. With that being said - the food was amazing and we will come back maybe, but not for the tasting menu. Our travels are based around fine dining and we have been to some amazing restaurants including Michelin Star Restaurants. We felt it was way to much money for the very little experience you get. If we come back it will be for maybe a quick lunch.
Fantastic from the moment I emailed about my allergies (peanuts, tree nuts & shellfish). Chef Loseto personally emailed within an hour or two and I felt extremely comfortable. The service was excellent...and I learned about their multi-stage review of meals prior to landing at the table. Exceptional. The cocktails, focaccia and meal were fabulous—tasty, interesting and surprising flavour combinations.
Excellent as usual
