About George Restaurant
Executive Chef Loseto’s innovative "Toronto Cuisine" is devoted to seasonal, natural, local, and sustainable food from the city’s markets. “This means that the food is inspired not only by the seasons, but also the variety of products available from many different cultures around the world,” says Loseto. This principle of fresh and eclectic variety is brought to the tables of our patrons at George.
Guests are encouraged to order from a five, seven, or ten course tasting menu in order to fully explore the bold flavours and textures of Chef Loseto’s cooking. Wine pairings carefully selected by the sommelier team are a wonderful addition to the tasting experience. The wine program is focused on quality, sustainability and terroir. Wines are sourced from small suppliers with a focus on unique appellations and varietals. At the table, one of our five sommeliers will ensure selections are perfectly paired with the unique cuisine.

George Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We were celebrating our 40 wedding anniversary. The welcoming staff and service was wonderful. Friendly ,efficient and many people working to maintain this level of service.
The food was flavourful and the presentation was a feast for the eyes.
We did the 7 course tasters menu and the only thing I didn’t like was the fois gras course ,but that is a taste issue.
It is worth the money and the evening was memorable.
Will go back for sure.
Had lunch with a client here and we were super impressed. The food was outstanding, service was well paced and I would highly recommend the restaurant and staff! We did the chef blind tasting 3-course meal and each had different options - cannot say enough about the quality of the food and the perfect presentation. Client was impressed and the food/service set the tone for a terrific meeting. I highly recommend George Restaurant and I will be back!
My previous 2 visits were a great overall experience. This time I ordered the 5 course tasting menu (the entire table has to order the tasting menu) and have really enjoyed previously, but this time 2 out of 5 were excellent, the other 3 just not my taste this time around. Out of the 5 courses 2 were dessert/ sweet...I think 1 dessert would be enough and adding an extra appetizer would be more appropriate for a pretty steep $120. If I’m going to be completely honest, the amuse bouche was probably the best “course” and was not part of the 5 courses.
We held our wedding at George and have decided to make our anniversary dinner a tradition there too. This was the first year and it was wonderful. We did the 7 course tasting menu with wine pairing, meaning that we got to try 14 different dishes and 10 different wines (by splitting each). It was excellent! The service was impeccable. Not too loud and not too quiet. The only minor critique would be one less desert course (two desert courses and desert wines were simply too much sweets).
We have enjoyed great meals at George over several years and this time we brought out-of-town friends for dinner. After a bit of puzzlement over the menu, restructured since our last visit to focus on the tasting menu options, our excellent waiter helped us understand the option and order just what we wanted. Delicious and well-prepared throughout our three courses.
Instead of ordering 3 meals in order to get the “full experience” it would be nice that be able to order one dish alone. However was told by the waiter that the portions are small and would not be sufficient for a stand alone meal.
The service was great. Nice atmosphere. I found the food a little unimaginative , but tasty netherless.
This was my 3rd time having their tasting menu and wine pairings... Ian was an excellent sommelier and made the experience even more special. I have travelled the world and have been to many Michelin starred restaurants including several 3 stars but none of them have been as good as George!
First time here, with two friends! All of us were impressed with the experience from A-Z! Very polished service from the reception at the door to the table service and our sommelier! We opted to order a la carte and weren’t disappointed. Favourites were the squab and the venison tenderloin! Perfection! Very extensive wine list with a lot of very high end bottles, but also offering some more reasonable mid-priced choices. Great for a special occasion!
On the “cautionary” side, these menu choices are on the small size allowing a varied tasting experience but this comes at a price! I’d go back in a flash ( as soon as I pay off my Amex account!!).
This was a restaurant that my husband and I had wanted to try for some time. He'd suggested that to celebrate his birthday this year, we should check it out. So glad that we did. Great atmosphere. Terrific service. Phenomenal food. The server was extremely knowledgeable, offered exceptional service, and made every effort to offer us a special evening. The highlight for me was arranging for a special course of foie gras, which was not on the menu. A very memorable dining experience - reminiscent of an evening to a Manhattan hot spot. We'll return for sure - and with friends!!
As a vegetarian I was definitely not impressed. The best part of the meal was the dessert and that's not a good sign. Won't be going back again for a 100 dollar vegetarian lunch that I can better cook at home. Particularly because the chef loaded my vegetarian dishes with huge amounts of brown butter perhaps for the lack of experience cooking flavourful vegetarian meals. Service is outstanding and the restaurant has a great selection of wines.
Came here to celebrate 5th anniversary with boyfriend. The place is loudly than most upscale dining restaurants. Service was excellent. One of our courses took too long but the waiter apologized many times and gave us drinks on the house to compensate. Food is mediocre for a fine dine, we've had better, but the value isn't bad. Most dishes lacked the wow factor but the service made up for it. Don't think I would return the taste is more important for me.
This was by far one of the best dining experiences I've ever had in Toronto. From the moment my wife and I entered the restaurant, we were very well taken care of. The staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable when it came to every dish we were being served.
The restaurant was very inviting and didn't have the stuffy feeling one would expect with fine dining. The general dress attire was casual and not pretentious. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience.
We had the 7 course tasting menu with the wine pairing for 4 people. Everything tasted really good, my boyfriend especially loved the foie on top of quail egg on top of rabbit meat and my cousin really loved the ahi tuna. Overall we enjoyed all the dishes and was really full at the end of the 4 hour meal!
Very slow service between courses.Had to wait at least 25 minutes waiting between each course. The SA clearing our table was clearly not on his best mood and he didn't bother to hide that.Clearing the plates of our table more like in a canteen rather than in a fine dining establishment.Management didn't even bother to check on our experience until we actually brought this up to his attention. He apologized and moved on to the next table.
For the amount of money you pay, there are far better options in Toronto for fine dining. You will get a better overall experience and a real fine-dining service.
Will not go back.
We were there for our wedding anniversary and although I mentioned it on the reservation, nothing was said to us during dinner about it. Having said that, my wife had the omnivore tasting menu, with the wine pairing, while I had the vegetarian tasting menu and wine pairing. The food was superb, but the hit of the night had to be our wine tasting. The waiter was fantastic but the sommelier, with his amazing knowledge of wines stole the show. I'm vegan, and after being pressed to admit it by the waiter (only so they could offer even more amazing service) they changed up the menu to "veganize" it for me. Then the sommelier stepped up his game and adapted the wine pairings to match the equally amazing job the chef did in switching up his menu to accomodate me. Thank you for an amazing night. (Even if you didn't notice it was our anniversary. Cheers!
