Extremely happy with everything! The service and food was amazing and impeccable. Highly recommend! It got quite loud by 8pm, so next time we might come for the earliest service. But even with that, it was an amazing experience.
I would eat here again. Superb in every aspect. Enjoyed the whole experience
My husband and I chose this restaurant to celebrate a special occasion . We were not disappointed. The tasting menu was creative and tasty. The service was attentive and friendly. It was a perfect evening. We took our time and we’re not rushed in any way. We would recommend this establishment in a heartbeat.
Fantastic experience and an exceptionally delicious meal. Highly recommend!
We had the 10 course tasting menu ($175 with wine pairings ($115 extra) all 10 courses come with wine. 5 and 7 course menus also available. The sommelier came to the table and explained each wine pairing very well and their enthusiasm for wine was apparent. At George the courses are blind meaning there is no menu / you do not know what they will be in advance. If you are dining with another person they get a different course/wine pairing. The plating was beautiful and the pics do not do them justice. As we were celebrating we received complimentary champagne to start the meal which was a thoughtful touch. Bread was also served. No butter but the bread was moist and flavorful on its own. There were some crisps were quite nice. The first 5 courses were seafood and primarily served raw / cold 1- Tuna / Octopus ( the octopus was very nice ) 2-Swordfish / Hamachi 3 - Salmon / Salmon 4- Scallop / Rabbit 5- Lobster Salad (gorgeous presentation and very nice ) / Tuna Tartare - for me personally 1 cold seafood dish max would have been enough - i dont mind seafood but hot dishes would have been preferred. Keep this in mind when dining here. 6- Sweetbread with fois gras ( this had a lovely pecan tart ) / Squab 7- Beef / Lamb. 8- cheese course 9 and 10 dessert - the last dessert was paired with a 30 year old sweet wine ambiance was nice and tables were dressed with white linens. Overall a nice experience.
Get together with friends for a birthday. We also got married at The George 5 yrs ago.
We love this restaurant. We have visited many times. The last occasion was in the back patio under sheepskin and heated lamps right in the middle of this crazy pandemic. This occasion we were inside and as always the service and food was impeccable. George is one of our favourite restaurants in Toronto.
Good restaurant with plenty of ambiance and good service. They don’t clean off the table after each service and they charge for bread which is fine but no butter. Service was consistent but impersonal. Food was delicious but I won’t remember what I ate in a day. Each seafood dish of the 7 plate tasting seems to mold into one in my memory. Overall a nice experience but I wouldn’t rush back.
A memorable dining experience that is in the top ten that I have ever experienced after dining in some of the finest restaurants of New York, London, Milan, Casablanca, Paris and Madrid.
The Perfect Tasting Experience and Service
Love eating at the George, always good food and wine pairing is great.
One of the best meals I’ve had. Did the 5 course blind meal. Lamb was fabulous, swordfish was great, beef was super tender. Best bison I’ve ever had. The wine pairing for perfect. I would do it again.
Had the 7 course tasting menu with wine pairing. Very good food, the service was excellent
I felt the room was lacking in ambiance. Food was very good, service acceptable.
The food was delicious and interesting. Wine pairing was fun too.
One of the most varied and enjoyable tasting menus I have ever sampled. I am planning to return for the 7 or 10 course dinners.
Great expect the venison was over done
Very delightful ambience. Waitress was very knowledgeable. Small creative portions however very filling and delicious A lovely experience.
Service was impeccable and attentive without being intrusive, wine pairings were responsive to preferences while also allowing for new experiences, food was delicious, very accommodating of dietary restrictions.
We celebrated my husband 54th birthday at George. It was an amazing experience food was absolutely fantastic. We will definitely go back.
Rob is amazing, first class services. He made our night !
We once again had the vegetarian tasting menu for two. Each of us got a different dish for each of the five courses, so ten unique creations in all. Just YUM. So many interesting flavour combinations.
Overall it was a very pleasant evening. Highly recommend this Restaurant.
It was a great experience. The food was great the wine pairing was excellent and generous. Would definitely recommend. The staff was excellent.
We had the tasting menu plus wine flight! All phenomenal. Service from Enzo and Christina was superb.
The food and service is always spectacular
Consistently interesting food pairings. Service is fantastic.
Excellent staff, cocktails, and food. Great dining experience!
Lovely food and a great atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and overall couldn’t have asked for anything better.
We got the fixed 7 course menu with wine pairing.....each dish during each course was different so adding the amuse bouche, we had 16 different dishes - all were beautifully plated, tasted incredible and were very well paired with wine from around the world by an enthusiasitc, experienced sommelier. Always love George!!! They are back!! And they are better than ever!
I almost never leave reviews but I have to say, not only was this the worst tasting menu I’ve ever had, but some of the worst food. I’m not sure how George has remained on the Toronto 10 best and if you love food, perhaps try a la carte/ spend your money elsewhere
Individually, the components of each plate were interesting, but together, it was completely confusing. Eg a cold ginger carrot sauce covering a seared foie. The tasting menu was far too experimental (like a kitchen sink approach), dishes came out of order (fish following amuse bouche), and my partner and I had kept getting different plates, meaning we had to keep trading back and forth.
The servers and host were lovely people but the food just doesn’t cut it at all. We almost left halfway through the meal but couldn’t bear to for $150/ head.
Excellent food and service. Looking forward to going back again
We had a really lovely meal
Everything was delicious, the service was great.
It was a great way to celebrate both my husband’s birthday our anniversary and my birthday in one.
This has become a bit of a tradition
Thanks for making our special day memorable
Great, creative food. We had the 5 course Prix Fixe and enjoyed every course.
Amazing food, it never disappoint! It's definitely an experience an is highly recommend to anyone who appreciates good food.
Amazing food and environment the only negative point on my side was the feeling the waiters wanted to rush us out
Been a while since I’ve visited but I will be back soon, the food was amazing
Everything was so amazing. 10/10 experience for sure! All of the staff were welcoming and fun!
Very classy fine dining restaurant, would definitely come back.
