George Martin's Strip Steak Ratings and Reviews
My meal was excellent. The only issue I had was when I was paying. I received a $10 gift certificate via email and they told me it expired. I said there is no expiration date on the coupon. They said they upgraded their system and because the coupon didn't have a barcode they couldn't take off the $10. I was very upset by this. I just spent over $200 and they couldn't find a way to take off $10. I don't know if I will be going back after this.
Food was tasty. Excellent sides. Porterhouse for two was tasty but not the most tender. There was grizzle. Came out slightly underdone (not a problem). Had to flag down our waitress to tell her as she did not come back to check if everything was good (problem). I may give it one more shot but it will have to impress to make up for shortcomings.
We come here often. At least monthly and for every special occasion. This was a very special birthday and we were seated at a table shoved in the corner not appropriate for a party of 8. The table was uneven and didn’t even line up so two adults who were unfortunate to sit there were very uncomfortable.
We asked that one of our appetizers be wrapped, it was discarded.
We brought our own cake, asked for the remainder to be wrapped, it wasn’t.
Very much a disappointing dinner. Not at all like our previous visits.
We surprised my dad for his 70th Birthday. We were a group of 8. We got our own private booth. We also went during Restaurant Week and got so much food for a very reasonable price. Waitress was so great with the kids and took a family pic for us! Can’t wait to go back. Thanks for a great night
We tried out this restaurant during LI Restaurant week. There were 2 prix fixe menu options as well as the regular menu. Both of our meals were delicious. We wax had different cuts of steak, and everything was cooked to perfection. The ambiance was cozy, and it was easy to have intimate conversation. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you like high-end steak.
First time at George Martin's for L.I. Restaurant week. Overall I give it 4 stars. We were a little early and seated right away into this small room. Lovely atmosphere, but felt cramped a bit. Tables placed to close to one another. However, our table was near a cute fireplace and we were able to see and listen to the nice band that was playing. Our waiter was very nice and explained everything on the pre fix menus. It was nice that they showed us different options, in case you wanted to upgrade your pre fix dinner or just order from their actual menu. We stuck with the $28.95 option and the food was very tasty and satisfying. Their bread basket they served was delicious. Bread was so soft and warm. For our appetizer we ordered this tuna ahi salad. Tuna was fresh with a kick of spiciness, mixed with a slight sweet dressing and crunchy cucumbers, delicious! For my entree i got this delicious shrimp and lobster pasta dish. The only thing i would change was the noodle they served. It was like eating huge strips of lasagna. But was very tasty and portion size was perfect. My boyfriend ordered the skirt steak and it came with garlic mash potatoes and green beans. He said it was the best place he's been to so far where the steak was cooked to perfection. I don't like steak very much but i tried a piece and it was very good. From flavoring to its tenderness, it was spot on. As for dessert not many options, but they did offer you to order out from the prefix menu. But we went with what was offered and ordered their canolis. They served 2 delicious canolis with whip cream and a cherry on top. I did decide to order their bloody mary cocktail. Way to over priced, a bit strong but tolerable. The chunk of steak, shrimp, and olive that was for edible decoration was appetizing though. Overall a great place to eat, would try again. Never felt rushed.
The food was good. Didn’t realize it was restaurant week so it was very crowded and that made it loud. Waitress was wonderful. I had requested a candle in my son and daughter in laws dessert for a special birthday. Guess they forgot. Overall it was good not sure it was worth the almost $500 for 4 people.
Frequently dine here when in the area for business. Normally excellent. Tonight not so much. Paper shreds in the soup. Extremely salty Caesar salad. Tough grizzly strip steak. This was the second time this week I ate dinner here. Earlier in the week it was sensational. Even a great restaurant can have an off night.
