George & Martha's
This was our second visit to George and Martha's and it was even better than the first. The turkey noodle soup was outstanding. There could have been more shrimp on our po' boy sandwiches (maybe use popcorn shrimp instead of jumbo shrimp?) and the portion of corn bread was plenty large enough for the two of us to still bring some home. The decor seemed much nicer than we remember - maybe there has been a recent renovation? We plan to return!
Our server, Matt, was outstanding! The food was very good, as was the ambiance,
Delicious food and friendly staff. Highly recommend the cornbread appetizer!
The food was good but the staff were rushing us out even before we arrived.
It was our anniversary! I mentioned it when making the reservation, and all of the staff and servers were congratulating us, we even got a complimentary dessert! It was a great evening! Would recommend the restaurant highly! Thanks for a great evening!
Stopped in for a travel meal with a partner during a trip. We had the calamari which was ok. The biscuits with the maple butter was the best part of the meal. I ordered the duck breast which was one of the specials for the night and it was the worst meal EVER, I could not even get through a quarter of the meal, the duck was overcooked the cherry sauce was tart and every other part of that dish was just awful. The manager comped that dish as I could not even hold back how horrible it was. But the biscuits was really good. My partner had the Salmon warped in dough and it was also awful but got worse as the dish cooled. I will not be returning EVER.
Was a very nice pub. Would go back but there are a lot of them around. They do offer there own parking!!!!
The absolute worst service at the bar. I waited to 20 minutes by the bar whereby the bartenders could see I was waiting to order a drink and completely ignored me the entire time. Then I had to hear them complain to each other that they were busy and annoyed that they were busy. That’s exactly what customers want to hear especially when they are waiting to order to drinks. What a great welcome to your restaurant. Also, when we finally ordered a drink we had to wait another 10 minutes to get it. Because the initial wait was just too little apparently. How is this difficult to do with three bartenders on a Saturday night?! Then there needs to be one more additional bartender hired or wait staff added to assist during peak hours. And no one seemed to care or be embarrassed by this poor service except our waitress who understood how ridiculous this was. Then when we sat at our table to order to dinner - the wait for the drinks continued. And when 15 minutes later we got our additional drinks you could imagine how annoyed we were to find some of our drinks missing bc the bartender got it wrong. We were like here were go- another 15 minute wait. And sure enough that’s what happened. This restaurant is not run well at all because if they had better service at the bar - they would have had a huge increase in orders which bring money to the business. Will NOT return back to this place.
This place used to be good. The service was terrible. I was brought the wrong drink after waiting over 20 min and then had to wait another 20 min for the right one. Waitress was shrill and unprofessional. The staff was trying to fold a table behind us making loud obnoxious bangs. The lights were bright. The food was mediocre. The chicken was dry and the potato was a croquet likely from Costco. I don’t usually give bad reviews to restaurants. Overall I would not recommend this place.
First timer here, meeting a colleague for dinner. Was very happy with the choice. Being just a bit off of the green gave us enough space to talk. The dinner started with a nice biscuit. We shared a great flatbread with mushroom. Delicious. We stuck to hand-helds, a bison burger and an open-faced steak sandwich. While the burger was a bit overdone (but tasty), the steak sandwich was delicious. Both of us said that we’d be back.
Rainy but beautiful morning. Great staff, very attentive
Easter with a group of 14
My girlfriend has been here a few times before and liked it so we went this past Saturday night. I like the Decour and the ambience and the restaurant is very clean the hostesses that greeted us were very friendly and accommodating. I’m not quite sure if they were understaffed or if our waiter was just lackadaisical, but he did not tell us about the specials we later heard a very attentive waitress telling the table next to us the specials and I would’ve much rather had one of those entrées than what I chose from their limited vegetarian menu. The food quality was good the wine selection was also good but our food took a long time to come out in between courses and our waiter also forgot to bring out the sweet bread that comes when you sit down or thereabouts we had to ask for that as well. I will see that there was management presence and I know the two different shift managers were trying to accommodate because there was a table next to us that was also underserved but not sure if we will be back anytime soon.
Our meals and service were outstanding. We've been to George and Martha's a few times in the past 2 years and have enjoyed watching meal.
The food was great and the service was quick and friendly especially for the large group we were in.
We were a family party of 9 and we all enjoyed the brunch options. Every dish was cooked perfectly and Darwin was a great server.
Great place for dinner and drinks, cool ambience and not so overly crowded bars how the rest are in Morristown. This is my preferred place for drinks and happy hour is good too! More mature crowd!
This was a great experience. We were in a hurry and ordered quickly, our server was right on time with everything! We had a bit of everything, from salad, fish, appetizers, dessert, and drinks. I loved the El Diablo in a Red Dress drink. I will be back and would love to try their lunch.
My mom and I may come back once I told her about the maple glaze that I had on my pancakes
We had my husband's 50th birthday party at George and Martha's. That was after we had had dinner there several times and we're always happy with the food service ambience. We would recommend this restaurant for a first date, a special occasion, or just a dinner out with the family. We love this restaurant! The food is unique and always delicious. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. And the ambiance is lovely.
Food and service were great!
Not great not bad. As my wife said. "It was ok but I wouldn't bring a group of people".
Wonderful experience! Food was stellar! Drinks were amazing too. We weren’t rushed at all and we stayed after dinner for another drink and to enjoy the live music. Can’t wait to go back.
Food was delicious, service was terrible. We had to ask for water 3 times and didn’t get our other drinks until the food came out.
I had been to this restaurant on another occasion and loved everything. This visit I was not so lucky......service was great, the meals were not. Very heavy handed on the salt, portions were skimpy, and two dishes were just bland. I'm going to wait awhile before I go back again.
My girlfriend and I like trying new places to dine. This was a great find, right in our back yard in Morristown. The live band was a bonus!! We will be back!
Out server and her trainee were both bubbly and fun while providing great service. Food was well presented and tasty. Bartender made a good dirty martini.varied menu . Plenty of parking in the lot behind restaurant. We had a great time.
Delicious food and great service. The drinks were good, and the waiter was able to accommodate my younger son with the kids menu. A little pricey, but it was a nice spot for a birthday celebration and our waiter comped the birthday gal with a dessert and seemed sincere in his birthday wishes!
Food was solid if not spectacular. Service was horrible. The place was nearly empty - it was Jan 2nd and it was slow and inattentive. We asked for a candle for our daughters birthday and the waitress forgot. That was a first!! May try again but....
Terrible. Poor front desk staff. Made a reservation yet when we arrived and restaurant is half empty, we were given the worst table in the place. Reason is, all tables are "time stamped". We left and the tables/booth still empty. Bison Burger is cold and smelly although kitchen is 20 feet away. Service is OK but not for the price you are paying. Wife's meal is ridiculously over priced. What a waste of an evening. I feel terrible as I write this review as I understand how hard it is to build a business. Let us hope this serves them as a wake up call.
We went for New Years and everything was amazing! I would definitely go again.
Good food reasonable price
Fantastic service and maybe the best meatloaf in the history of the world!
If you go here for brunch, I do not get the turkey hash. It was more of a mush than a hash. The dishes the other people in my party got were pretty good.
Some of the lunches were very good and some were not. The deep fried corn bread croutons which were served cold were not good at all.
Waiter would always ask us what we wanted, but would never come back with what we asked for. Some of the food came out over cooked, then under cooked. They did try to correct the issues and didn’t charge for it.
Great experience and our waiter was friendly and helpful.
Incredible food! The taste and the presentation were fantastic. Service was very friendly and timely. Highly recommend it.
Food was good! Service was too. Nice vibe
Had a business team lunch here and service was outstanding and the food was fresh tasting, lots of options with an American style flair with many healthy options. Will definitely be back!
