Amazing view plus you have access to the beach. The food is delicious with good variety , the wine menu is very extensive.
We did brunch there and what a view!!!! The food was amazing and the service was great!!
Service was wonderful however the lobster was rubbery and the chicken dish was mediocre. My guests couldn’t/wouldn’t finish their meals. Despite letting staff know in advance it was a special occasion we were placed in the far back near the parking....the same place my party was placed last time I tried this restaurant. Used to be great, however it’s not now a venue I would recommend given the prices, the poor food - and, yes, being placed at the farthest table, twice in a row. Not how you treat locals on a special occasion.
Second time at Geoffrey's. As good as the first. Mid-afternoon lunch for our anniversary. Drove down from Santa Barbara. Everything was great.
We had an absolutely perfect anniversary lunch. The service and the food were only exceeded in greatness by the perfect weather and ocean view.
Best place in the world
Amazing food. Expected much better service.
Fantastic view. Great service. Good food. What more do you need?
We go to Geoffrey’s every time we are in LA but sadly this time it wasn’t as good as it had been previously. Normally we have a late lunch there in order to enjoy the outstanding view of the ocean but we chose from the dinner menu which is overpriced as are the wines. The waiters do their level best to recommend food and wine, unsurprisingly, the more expensive options, it can feel a little pushy! I had the pork shank which was good, not great. My wife had the chicken option and unlike the lunch menu offering, which is delicious, it was awful, so much so that we sent it back which was very disappointing. To be fair we were not charged for it as a result but it kind of ruined the experience. Another gripe is that we were in the place for 50 minutes which for the price felt a little rushed, though still racked up a fair sized check!
The service was a little odd, but the food and view were both great.
Beautiful setting, especially at sunset. Staff is friendly, but our waitress kept apologizing for silly things, like reaching in front of me or slightly bumping me when serving someone next to me. Very annoying. The food is overrated, nothing really special, but adequate. So fair value for the $300 price tag for 4, including 2 scotches & 2 bottled waters.
Wow what a view! Birthday dinner with my husband. We felt like we were back on the island of Capri.
Food was great. Straight forward menu. I can’t wait to come back!
Geoffrey's Restaurant was incredible. I took my girlfriend here for her birthday dinner, and it was amazing from start to finish. First, we were taken aback at the aesthetic and view, as well as the ideal table for two, right on the balcony. It was a gorgeous evening, with the sun setting as we sat down.
Marvin started us out with martinis; the espresso martini was delicious. We kicked it off with the Sauteed Lump Crab Cakes, which were delicious and featured a beautiful presentation. I got the Swordfish, complete with bacon and fingerling potatoes and she got the Seafood Paella over saffron rice. We took plenty of bites of each others as both dishes were fantastic.
We wrapped up the evening with creme brulee, which Marvin served with a candle and a sweet rendition of happy birthday for my girlfriend. Bruleed to a crisp on top, we broke through into the custard beneath, and were surprised to find a layer of chocolate mousse at the bottom. It was amazing.
The entire evening was made by Marvin, who offered fantastic suggestions, had a great personality, and his surprise candle and birthday serenade was absolute perfection.
Geoffrey's was delicious and a phenomenal evening and birthday celebration. We will be back.
Thank you, Marvin!
As usual that view is spectacular and the ambiance is lovely. The food is adequate, although this time I wasn't thrilled with my entree. Two of us ordered the same dish and the difference between the two was apparent. While my companions portion was overly large, mine was the opposite. Meat over cooked and vegetables were not cooked enough (and I like them on the crisper side). The service was good as always and we'll definitely go back as we always do, just wish the food was more consistent.
We had Sunday brunch here. The seating and view were beautiful. The waiter was very attentive. The Bloody Mary was spicy and the Benedict was tasty!
I requested a special table because we were celebrating a birthday. We could not be farther from the ocean. Maybe these are the tables that are set aside for OpenTable patrons, but we had two elderly people that arrived with high hopes and were disappointed.
The food wasn't seasoned at all, had no flavor.
The staff did a nice a job and more importantly our wait-person Laura was wonderful and made the afternoon very special.
...leider enttäuschend!
Simply put, Geoffeys is one of the best dining experiences i've ever had.
It was the perfect place for dinner with my wife on my birthday! Thank you Malibu Danny, the service was exemplary and the food and wine were above reproach. I can't wait to come back!
Perfect birthday lunch.
This restaurant has been a favorite of mine for years. I love the scenic views and the food has always been good for lunch, dinner or brunch. For us Seniors, it was delightful to see so many
young people enjoying their Easter celebration with others some family and some friends who are like family. It is one of the best restaurants in Malibu. And I highly recommend it.
Mediocre food -
Prix fixe for Easter Brunch.
It was Easter Brunch. However, the food was rushed and delivered cold. I have had great experience here for regular brunch.
Special experience
So lovely, great service. Actually amazing servers. Amazing food, consistently great trough the years. Incredible view.
I met someone in California that I really like and I travelled three thousand miles just to have dinner with her. So, I wanted a romantic evening with special food and ambience. My daughter who lives in CA, recommended wine tasting in the hills then a dinner at Geoffrey's. We were both greeted with friendliness and seated at the perfect table to overlook the sea. We were captivated by the view and the restaurant's appearance.
We were served by Danny who went out of his way to be helpful in our choices. The appetizer (Tuna Tartare ) was better than I have had before - fresh - a little spice but overall perfect. The person of my affection, shared a steak and it was the best steak I have had in years, Done just as I asked (which is more difficult than you would imagine - even in "steakhouses"). We had custom drinks which were so good we would swap with one another.
On the ride home we reflected on how great everything was.. Thank you Geoffrey's you made it all worthwhile. And made me look good too
Food was as spectacular as the view
What a wonderful way to celebrate Friday
I am vegetarian and was very satisfied with my lunch experience with an amazing tofu dish as well as refreshing drinks. The brie puff pastry was very unique with a side of spiced roasted pears which complement each other well. The view was outstanding with sunshine and the ocean breeze. My husband got the burger which was Hawaiian themed with a roasted pineapple within it which was a nice twist. My in-laws got the steak and sea bass which were both delicious! The sea bass presentation was AMAZING! Highly recommend this place for a fine dining experience.
Geoffrey’s was a real treat. A throwback experience of warm and complete service, great menu selections, beautiful surroundings and ocean view and very well prepared, plated and delicious updated dishes. This is a place to which we definitely will return anytime we are near enough to go.
I was a little disappointed I got sat in the middle when I specifically asked for a table with a view . I was taking someone out for their birthday and wanted them to have a table with a view but instead got sat in the middle facing other tables ! It kind of ruined the experience. It was a surprise birthday brunch and it was the birthday boy’s first time there . It didn’t seem to live up to expectations . I’m upset at the fact that I left a message stating want I wanted and that it was a surprise. That I wanted a table directly facing the ocean . If I knew I was getting horrible seating I could have gone elsewhere. And I love coming to Geoffrey’s but this was just disappointing. Ruined my birthday surprise for the birthday boy ! Worst part they weren’t even busy . How hard was it to save a table . The host didn’t do such a great job ! What’s the point of make a reservation and write down what you want if it won’t get followed. It’s useless . Service by the waiter was great like always, food is good but overall disappointing .
Beautiful setting, delicious oysters, nice place for a romantic evening or special occasion.
Lovely time. Very charming, elegant restaurant. Girlfriend and I. Seated outside on far west edge of restaurant, right on the edge of the water. Watched the sunset. Shared an appetizer, each had a salad, entree and dessert. She had one glass of wine. Bill: $197.50, + $50 tip.
Wonderful dinner with an amazing view of the Pacific Coast. Very memorable. Would eat there again in a heartbeat.
The food was poor quality, the dishes the food was served on were all scratched and beaten up. We ordered the tuna tartar which was garnished with regular Tabasco and mayo, and the fish was full of ligaments. The baked Brie was soggy and served with a side of poorly chopped apples, very average taste. Main course salmon was not cooked well and the mashed potatoes were not creamy but full of hairlike particles of an old potato. Except for the view there is nothing to see st this place.
Always a lovely meal at this outdoor oceanview restaurant. The service staff are all friendly, very pleasant. The Chef turns out a great meal. All the appetizers are very good. We enjoy the variety of Eggs Benedict options during lunch and brunch. Weekday lunches are also good here, from a fantastic burger to delicious scallops, paella. We recall braised lamb shanks on the dinner menu that were excellent, but we haven't seen them in a while and would love for them to return! Overall the view is soothing, we watched the dolphins this visit. Bartender is great - perfect Bloody Mary with a nice zip! Love this spot in Malibu.
Had a great brunch with my family service was great food was excellent! Will be back again for sure!
Very nice and well decorated, good wine list, food was good but not outstanding. Incredible above cliff views of the Pacific.
Very friendly waitstaff. Food was overpriced and poor. Fried oysters were flavorful, but served in ice cold shells so after eating the first one the rest were cold.
Crab cakes were under seasoned and looked like the meat had been whirled in a blender. No lumps of crab.
The beet salad was pretty, and had nice decorations but the actual slices of beets had no dressing at all.
Nice atmosphere, no wow factor to the food.
I am extremely disappointed in my experience here. I made sure to write in my notes that we were celebrating my moms 65th birthday. I also spoke to TWO hostess' that called me to confirm and made sure they were aware that we were celebrating my mom's birthday. They assured me that everyone would be aware, including the host and our waiter, and would make it a special evening for us. They sat us at a table outside, which is nice. However, the table was not set and the bread guy came to give us bread but couldn't, as we had no plates or silverware. Finally, after about 15 minutes of waiting, our waiter came over and threw some napkins down at the table, didn't introduce himself or even say hello, and just immediately asked us what we wanted to order for drinks. He seemed extremely flustered and kept saying he would help us after he takes care of the big party next to us. The big party consisted of 5 adults and 1 child. When he came back we ordered some appetizers. Then we never saw him again. We were seated at 6:30pm and by 7:30pm we had not even ordered entrees. We got a hold of the manager and he took our order after we let him know how we felt unattended to. His response was "what would you like me to do for you?" Really? We want you to take our order and make this a special experience for us, being that none of us had ever been there. Then our waiter came over to apologize later and had NO IDEA it was my mom's birthday. I went up to the hostess to let them know how disappointed I was, as I had told two different people and made notes in OpenTable about this. Then the waiter came over again and said "the manager would like to buy you dessert and we will even put a candle in it it to make it special." Come on. Really? You had to come over and tell us that? Make it surprise. The whole experience was awful. We paid so much money for mediocre food and horrible service. Will not be going back again.
