Visiting Malibu from Philly, we LOVED it!!
Great food great place
Beautiful restaurant. Was not happy to pay $12 to park + tip after spending $300 on food & liquor. It's Malibu high end. Ahi appetizer was ok, nothing special & 4 little crisps which was not enough. I had paella which was very good although needed more seasoning. Husband had a filet & it was good but far too much sauce. Dessert was awesome. I had the apple tart , he had creme brulee with chocolate mousse. Will go back because of it's views & location.
Just wonderful. We came again and will come again. Amazing views food and staff.
Great food and service. View is amazing. Bathroom was a little run down compared to the rest of the place. It was dirty and no toilet paper. Everything else was great though! Perfect brunch spot!
Very beautiful ocean view. Great food and wonderful service. Always enjoy Geoffrey’s. Also, we saw a well known celebrity!
Location and view- outstanding
Service - friendly, kind, quick
Drinks- perfectly made
Great location, friendly staff, great food. We enjoy our time there and try to go there as much as possible. Great for lunch, brunch, and dinner. Highly recommended.
We were there for my birthday and we found 2 trashes in our foods. One rubber band in steak dish , and one plastic in our chicken piccata! It’s the worst experience you want in any restaurant ! It means they don’t even wash their broccoli or vegetables and cook them with plastic and rubber band around it !! disgusting
The greatest place for an anniversary. Plan on going back to Malibu and Geoffrey’s in October to ask Adan to marry me. The perfect setting. Truly one of a kind restaurant in the world.
Outstanding in all ways!
Food, service , ambiance !!
Very nice setting ,outside terrace, very good food
worst service ever! None of them told us "hello or welcome" when we arrived. No smile. not welcome and not friendly. Felt like the worst person in the word. The waiter took my plate when I still had half of my food in it. We got serve miserably! the valet did not give us our car back we directly went to our car and left without him noticing it.
for the price you pay you should go to the next restaurant 5 minutes down the street!
I always enjoy returning to Geoffrey’s wonderful ambiance. It is a beautiful location near the ocean. We all enjoyed our dishes. The one caveat to the experience is that the surf & turf (filet minion & Maine lobster) while delicious and perfectly cooked to order is overpriced at $94.
We have been coming to this restaurant over the past 4 years. Every time we come back we have liked it a little bit less. This last time was very disappointing. It was my wife's birthday and I asked for a quiet romantic table. They seated us at a corner table next to a table of very noisy ladies who were cackling very loudly. Our view wasn't even that good considering this is a place famous for its views of the Pacific.
The food was basically tasteless as well. I ordered swordfish which tasted very fishy and bland and my wife ordered salmon which was dry and not distinctive. Neither of us ate even half our meals.
We will not return to this restaurant as it is extremely overpriced and just not worth it anymore.
Too bad as the location is very magical.
We had a nice experience from the valet to the front deck and Emily at the bar and our server. We where there for our 25th wedding anniversary and everyone made it so special
Service staff always warm, friendly and helpful. Food service is prompt and spot on.
We live in the Malibu area and find Geoffreys a delightful place to go for a late lunch-
For my wife’s birthday, we decided to have a nice evening out in Malibu. First of all, we really wanted to like the place. The host and hostess were ver nice and pleasant. All staff were. Our request for a more romantic table when rsvp’ing was fulfilled as noted. Awesome. Our server was friendly and assisting servers and bussers were very good as well. So far so good, right? Fyi, our table, specifically was table #20. I highly recommend OR table #21 if you are able to request.
Sadly our meal was just not as good as everything else we’ve experience thus far.
My wife and I have been in the food & beverage restaurant industry in LA for our entire careers. That being said, we absolutely hate being difficult. But to sum it up really quick, our $60 Wagyu steak was not prepared as requested. In fact, far from it. We went ahead and ate it anyways after quickly just making our server aware. But we just had to send back the seafood paella we also ordered. It was way too fishy and not enjoyable. We did not ask to have it remove from our bill. We just could not have it at the table. But the manager being as nice as he was, took care of it anyway. None of the other appetizers and starters we had need any mention. I did enjoy the dinner rolls though. Finally, $12 for valet.
There are very good and just very OK thing about our dinner. I hope it was just our meal that wasn’t as great and can speak only about our experience. We hope y’all have a better one and wish only good things for the restaurant. Hope our experience was useful in helping y’all decide. Good luck and enjoy!
Hands down one of the best places to go in Malibu, and in greater LA. I have been coming here for a few years and the food AND service never lets you down... not to mention the valet who have an impossible job that they manage to handle extremely well :). Great place. Go here for good food, views, and service.
The views are stunning. The food was disappointing. It used to be a lot better in the past. We even sent a dish back.
We love Geoffrey's and the food is always good. The wait staff are usually amazing! Our waiter Trey gave us our check without us asking for it and things we're taken off the table before we'd finished eating/drinking them. I think it was the end of his shift (around 4:00pm). I asked the host if they wanted the table back and he said that he didn't so we thought it was quite rude of Trey. We went there on Sunday 11th August.
Steak was over cooked so if you like medium I would recommend ordering medium rare. Other than that service was great and the view and access to beach is excellent.
Had an amazing dinner and was a great place to celebrate an anniversary!
Celebrating our 34th anniversary. We requested a patio table with an ocean view & they fulfill that request, it was lovely. Service is great, food was delicious. It is a wonderful ocean side restaurant.
My family and I had an interesting experience at Geoffrey's Malibu. The greeting and seating was lovely the view that all talk about was real. Our server was hurried and somewhat silly but quite friendly and diligent. I applaud the many years that Geoffrey's has been in business and the fact that the restaurant was busy this Saturday evening suggests that their popularity hasn't diminished. All that said, I can't help but posting some real honest commentary around the food we were served. And at these prices, I expected more. Wine service was fine. Our children dined on coconut shrimp that came skewered - circa 1980, no big deal but dated. The "Spicy Breaded Oysters" lacked originality (and flavor). Unfortunately, the "Asian Salsa, Spicy Vinaigrette" which contained the "Spicy" resided below the Oyster - nestled deep in the oyster shell? Odd for sure so very difficult to enjoy the Oyster with the accompanying Vinaigrette, and so on. We also tried the Tahitian Corn Chowder Sweet Corn Chowder with a Hint of Vanilla, Garnished with a miniature Lump Crab Cake. Sadly, this watered down "chowder" didn't live up to the lovely menu title. For the main entree, I tried the Hoisin Glazed Black Cod with Fried Rice Cake, Baby Bok Choy, Honey Ginger Sauce. Oh gosh, the ginger sauce was incredibly bitter - most likely because it reduced far too long on the burner. The skin was left on the cod - which I can live with but the presentation hid this fact and made for more uncomfortable manipulation at the dinner table; to remove. The fried rice cake was definitely "fried" on the bottom (and all over) .My wife tried the swordfish a generous helping and cooked relatively well.Super disappointing evening - and while it pains me to lay blame on those who work so hard at the stove I just couldn't help myself because it's important that folks know. Some sincere focus on traditional cooking techniques and simple respect for the craft of cooking will serve Geoffrey's well.
The parking is very small so that is probably why its valet only. which is conveniently put on your bill. First time trying the place and started off bad when the reservation was at 6:30 pm and was seated well past 7 pm. the wait was OK since we were enjoying the view of the ocean and went down through the back way from the restaurant. After being sat down, the waitress was very friendly and her recommendations were on point since the food was delicious.
Had a great night at Geoffrey. Great food, great service, over all everything was perfect
Made a reservation, waited over 30 minutes after we got there to be seated. The hostess was polite but not very cordial. To be honest, I expected more from them because it is a more high end restaurant, and they usually are very friendly and welcoming at these kinds of places. Our service was very very slow, but it was honestly just our waitress, my husband commented that he wished we had gotten the other gentleman who was super friendly and very attentive to the other tables. The Valet and the Bar tenders were great.
Aside from that, the food was amazing, the drinks were amazing, the view is SPECTACULAR and I love the overall atmosphere of the place.
The entrance is a little easy to miss, but totally worth the hassle. Plus, you can pay for your Valet with the check.
The seating arrangements are a nightmare! We waited a while for our table despite arriving early for our booking. Then we got the worst table and normally I wouldn't mind but I had phoned and asked for a table with a view as it was our anniversary. Then the gave us a pager for a better table - this all took about an hour to get a decent (and not the best) view. After that the service and food was really good.
Oh and a side note - you can't valet your car more than 15minutes before your booking - we wanted to enjoy the beach before dinner but they wouldn't allow it.
Overall not an exceptional experience.
Enjoyed my time. Was rushed by waiters to finish my meal so the next reservation could sit. All around it was a nice experience.
Great view and intimate setting. Kale salad was deeelicious as was bread pudding. Will definitely keep this restaurant in our regular rotation.
Too noisy . Too busy place . Not for date or anniversary. Food- nothing special, or delicious.
Always fantastic experience. Great mix of beautiful views, great food and good service. We enjoyed seafood paella, scallops and ahi tuna tartare, and finished with Geoffrey’s cream brûlée.
My husband, daughter and I had just toured Pepperdine and wanted to eat in the Mailbu area. Geoffrey's was recommended - we were able to get a reservation at late notice, sat outside overlooking the water and had great service and great food! Herb crusted Salmon was delicious as well as the beet salad! My husband enjoyed his octopus salad and paella and our daughter had a wonderful ceasar salad and ahi tuna.
5 star place.
Great food. Good service. Great menu. Fairly priced. No attitude. We had a wonderful and delightful evening perfect weather fantastic view thank you
All good as usual.
This is a beautiful restaurant, but what made the experience even better was Arturo’s wonderful service. He made the perfect recommendations and was very attentive.
My wife and I celebrated our 24th anniversary and had an excellent dinner with a great view of the ocean from our table
