Geoffrey’s is simply the best. Like a Rolex watch or a martini at sunset. They do it right from the start to the finish. Special in my heart forever.
I really enjoyed Geoffrey's--the ambiance was spectacular. I would say that our server rushed us through and that is really a big issue for me with respect to how I enjoy my dining experience.
Everything was just good. Not exceptional. The view was my favorite part.
The food was not worth it. I am never gonna come back to this place.
Great brunch date
Incredible space with great service and delicious, well prepared and presented food options. The baked brie was amazing, and I enjoyed the crab cake benedict quite a bit! It would have been nice if they had umbrellas to protect from the sun outdoors, but otherwise a beautiful, delicious dining experience.
I have been for dinner several times and it was great. Food drinks table, all good. This time went for brunch. We were outside by the flowers and the bee’s were awful. It made me nervous to be honest. I had hoped the waitress would have noticed but no such luck.
Quiche was good but french toast was just okay. Honestly the bees buzzing around through the entire brunch was stressful.
I really love going there but going forward, dinner only.
Absolutely amazing, it was mine and my boyfriend’s anniversary and we had a great time. Very beautiful and genuinely great staff! My mother always went here when she was younger and suggested it to me. Would love to come back.
Thus is my favorite Restaurant in L A their food and drinks are delicious the Staff is wonderful the oceanfront view is breathtaking I highly recommend Geoffrey’s for any occasion you can’t go wrong with anything you order from the menu
Amazing view with a plus sighting of SpaceX on the day we went. Great service, food and cocktails as usual.
Favorite restaurant in Southern California! View and setting not to be topped! Service and food are excellent.
For all of the wonderful comments and friend recommendations, I was quite dissatisfied. Food was just “good”. Nothing special, no great flavors or organic freshness. Same with the service. For such a high end establishment, the wait staff and waiter support staff were nothing great.
Was last minute change from our favorite Sunset restaurant nearby, no regrets at all!!
Amazing setting. We felt like we were on vacation.
I recently enjoyed a dinner date at Geoffrey’s. Mostly, we enjoyed sitting back, relaxing, and taking in the amazing waterfront view, and later, the beautiful twinkle lights after sunset. The food was good too. We loved the lemon soufflé dessert.
Love everything about this restaurant. Had Maine lobster, was fresh & served with veggies that tasted exactly as they should, not masked with strong garlic sauces. We had filet mignon cooked perfectly which had wonderful cab sauce. Crab cakes were sweet with lots of lump crab. Ocean views & breezes, but they do have heaters if needed.
Phenomenal surprise for my daughter’s birthday
Everything was wonderful. It was a little dark at the table. Adjacent tables had to use their phone light to see menu...was distracting. Would still recommend and come back to dine again.
excellent overall. a beautiful location and really great foos
Geoffrey's is good for views only and food is blahh.. i have not had anything at this place that says 'come back again' and that goes from cocktail to appetizers to main course. Everything is average and the only thing you are getting is nice ocean view if you are seated right place.
Un-be-lieve-able.... our waiter Drey was fantastic!
Took an out of town guest for brunch and had a beautiful view, excellent service and w wonderful meal.
Beautiful place and every dish we tried was great. Crab cakes were delicious, and the apple tart was also a favorite of ours
Excellent food, service and ambience, wonderful experience.
LOVELY!! Service was great and the ambience, OMG
Reserved a table for some kid-free time but the marine layer limited the views. Great service and excellent food.
The view was awesome and the service was very good but the food was tasteless. I have the prime rib medium, and it came with mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. The mashed potatoes had ZERO flavor at all and the steak was not very good either. The Brussels sprout side was definitely the best item on my plate. My husband had the filet and it came it asparagus and potatoes and he said it was not very tasty either. You would think for a $62 prime rib it would be delicious, but it was not unfortunately
This restaurant has a great outdoor view as it overlooks the ocean. But it ends there. We made a lunch reservation and noted this in the reservation. At first welcome they did not make mention or offer congratulations. They did not save us a table as they offered one that was left over. The service was OK and not very attentive. Relatively speaking compared to other restaurants I would not come back.
The food and service is always great at Geoffrey's. The breathtaking ocean view makes your experience even better.
My wife and I celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary at Geoffrey's and the evening was really nice, we had nice view of the ocean and the service was outstanding. Austin was our lead waiter and he made sure our needs were met without asking. The food was so good. Can't thank Geoffrey's enough for taking care of my wife and I.
Steak was over cooked and server said he’ll be back to check on us after he asked us to try one bite, but he took a long time to come back, we didn’t want to wait for another steak anymore so just settled on the over cooked one. It was my husband’a first time in LA and I talked this place up so much, and told him it’s my fav restaurant... but food fell flat and was the most unmemorable one during our trip. Server was great though, even if he was late in checking up on us, he was a very nice guy and felt bad for us.
Beautiful view, but extremely overpriced and completely DISGUSTING food. Seriously. I paid for the dinner about $150 for two, we did not have any appetizers, and basically it was just two entries, mineral water and desert. I ordered salmon. You think – what can go wrong with salon? Well my salmon would be best described as a HARD SOLE OF AN OLD WORN SOLDIER'S BOOT. Seriously! It was so over burned that I could not even stick my fork in it – that’s how dry and hard it was. Disgusting. BTW – it did look over burned and yet the kitchen and the waiter had the audacity to send me this meal. Also if goes together with beluga lentil that was tasteless, hard to chew and that does not go well with salmon anyway. The person who invented this food had a really sick culinary imagination. Poor done. Finally we had some desert. It was Warm Crisp Apple Tart. OMG, it was shapeless mess of overwhelming caramel and some pieces of tart that you need to scratch from the bottom of your plate (apparently it was warmed in the microwave and the tart was simply burned into the plate!). All of this was decorated by ice-cream so excessively so you would not notice that that are actually no pieces of apples on your plate. I am not the person that would make a scene and send this stuff back, and I did not want to spoil the romantic mood of my husband, but I would simply close any establishment that serves food as bad as Geoffrey's Malibu. The only good thing here is the view, and if you are ready to pay a fortune just to sit by the ocean – it’s your choice. Yet there are bunch of places around with the same view and PERFECT FOOD. But don’t expect anything good to be served at Geoffrey's Malibu. Even dinner at Denny’s will be better that dinner here. No more. Denny’s serves much better apple tart, and I’ve had much better salmon at “fish and chips” on the side walk cafe in San Diego. Cheaper, too. Oh, dear administration, say “hi” to your shameless chef for me.
You'll go here for the view, not the food. This place could really be outstanding if the food wasn't so bland. The flavors are just very flat. Clearly not very fresh nor organic. Can't beat the view though! One just needs to go here with the right expectations.
Made the reservation for my fiancé’s birthday. I was able to make the reservation on the same day as we planned to attend which was good. Downside is that even though in the description section of my “open table” reservation tool that I indicated that (1) we would need a high chair and (2) it was for a birthday celebration, when we got there they didn’t realize in advance that we needed a high chair or that we were there for a birthday.
I also was not super thrilled with where we were sitting because it wasn’t on the main patio. It was a really tiny table and I put my diaper bag and purse on the ground without realizing that there were a bunch of ants so ants were crawling on me several times throughout the day. But there were a lot of young children and people who brought their dogs in this section so it almost felt like people with young kids and animals were sent to this little corner.
Even though we were sitting next to someone who was also celebrating a birthday, the staff brought out a surprise dessert for that person but did nothing for my fiancé. And there was another waiter working in that section that seemed to hurry us out of there at the end by rushing to get us the check even though he was not the one who had been waiting on us. Guess they needed to put someone else in that tiny corner.
Maybe next time, if there is one, I’ll insist on sitting on the main patio. Although the view from where we were sitting was somewhat nice, it was still not what essentially we went to this restaurant for.
Also, we arrived at the same time as someone else & that person parked their car with valet and there was nothing said to them about if they have a reservation. But then when we got out, one of the waiters was at the front talking to the valets & all of a sudden he said “Oh we can’t take anymore walk-ins, only reservations”. So the valet then asked if we had a reservation. It may have been a coincidence but it felt like they assumed we didn’t have one
Wonderful. Food and perfect location!
We came to celebrate my husband's birthday, I requested on round table app a candle on dessert, which was ignored, and when asked in person, they got busy and didn't provide it.
Excellent service. Yan made the night extra special. Excellent food!
Food and the view were great. Unfortunately our waiter was not. It is a busy restaurant, and I understand that the waiters need to please everyone. We were never checked up on or asked if we needed anything. He admitted that he had forgotten about us, unfortunately he over used that excuse "that he had forgotten about our table" because he used that phrase three times. Once again no big deal, but what I did not like was how he would constantly check on and ask how the two tables were doing on both sides of our table. Both parties were older couples and me and my girlfriend are younger. I noticed how he always had time to stop and ask how the parties were doing and also have time to start some small talk. None of this really bothered me until I mentioned that we were celebrating my girlfriends birthday and our anniversary. He said they don't do anything for celebrations, but he would give us a candle in the dessert that we ordered. I was happy with that, but once our dessert came I saw him bring the table next us 2 extra desserts. The party told him that they did not order that, but the waiter said it was fine because it was on the house because they were celebrating an anniversary. Once I told my girlfriend how annoyed I was about that, she began to tell me that she did not like how the other tables were also served their food before we were served, even though we ordered way before them and had less food and the same items as them. The only time our waiter seemed to have time for us was when we were paying the bill. He kept asking me while I was reading the charges if I was ready to pay, and seemed anxious to have us leave. Other than when I was paying the bill, it seemed like our table was an inconvenience for him. Me and my girlfriend both felt like because of our age, and that we did not fit the demographic of everyone else there, that we were unfortunately treated different that other parties literally right to us by our waiter.
The service was good, however a note to detail... just placing a knife and fork on the table with no underlay was less than adequate. The server was busy for a Wednesday night but she was pleasant. The food was fantastic and brought in a timely manner. I’d wished that my double espresso would have been scalding not warm. The scenery was awesome. Dessert was ok (creme brûlée) plentiful to share. Sea bass was OUTSTANDING. Very nice overall.
Amazing views. Such disappointment with the food. Sister had a Camembert/ pastry appetizer and I had a lobster pastry thing. Pastry soggy on both, both dishes way too much sauce. Two appetizers and two cocktails and valet parking $110. Madness. We could have said something I guess but it was a quick stop on our way to Santa Monica. First time in my life I didn’t leave a tip. When bill came we said it was disappointing and manager made aware but didn’t do anything or come over to help.
