Open every day of the year!
You'll go here for the view, not the food. This place could really be outstanding if the food wasn't so bland. The flavors are just very flat. Clearly not very fresh nor organic. Can't beat the view though! One just needs to go here with the right expectations.
Made the reservation for my fiancé’s birthday. I was able to make the reservation on the same day as we planned to attend which was good. Downside is that even though in the description section of my “open table” reservation tool that I indicated that (1) we would need a high chair and (2) it was for a birthday celebration, when we got there they didn’t realize in advance that we needed a high chair or that we were there for a birthday.
I also was not super thrilled with where we were sitting because it wasn’t on the main patio. It was a really tiny table and I put my diaper bag and purse on the ground without realizing that there were a bunch of ants so ants were crawling on me several times throughout the day. But there were a lot of young children and people who brought their dogs in this section so it almost felt like people with young kids and animals were sent to this little corner.
Even though we were sitting next to someone who was also celebrating a birthday, the staff brought out a surprise dessert for that person but did nothing for my fiancé. And there was another waiter working in that section that seemed to hurry us out of there at the end by rushing to get us the check even though he was not the one who had been waiting on us. Guess they needed to put someone else in that tiny corner.
Maybe next time, if there is one, I’ll insist on sitting on the main patio. Although the view from where we were sitting was somewhat nice, it was still not what essentially we went to this restaurant for.
Also, we arrived at the same time as someone else & that person parked their car with valet and there was nothing said to them about if they have a reservation. But then when we got out, one of the waiters was at the front talking to the valets & all of a sudden he said “Oh we can’t take anymore walk-ins, only reservations”. So the valet then asked if we had a reservation. It may have been a coincidence but it felt like they assumed we didn’t have one
Wonderful. Food and perfect location!
We came to celebrate my husband's birthday, I requested on round table app a candle on dessert, which was ignored, and when asked in person, they got busy and didn't provide it.
Excellent service. Yan made the night extra special. Excellent food!
The service was good, however a note to detail... just placing a knife and fork on the table with no underlay was less than adequate. The server was busy for a Wednesday night but she was pleasant. The food was fantastic and brought in a timely manner. I’d wished that my double espresso would have been scalding not warm. The scenery was awesome. Dessert was ok (creme brûlée) plentiful to share. Sea bass was OUTSTANDING. Very nice overall.
Amazing views. Such disappointment with the food. Sister had a Camembert/ pastry appetizer and I had a lobster pastry thing. Pastry soggy on both, both dishes way too much sauce. Two appetizers and two cocktails and valet parking $110. Madness. We could have said something I guess but it was a quick stop on our way to Santa Monica. First time in my life I didn’t leave a tip. When bill came we said it was disappointing and manager made aware but didn’t do anything or come over to help.
Fabulous views, wonderful waitstaff and food well presented but lacking full flavor. Would like to see more flavorful food at this gorgeous place by the sea!
We were asked at reservation time if there was a special occasion. I answered Yes, as it was my wife’s birthday. For the next two hours nothing was mentioned about the occasion.
Relax & enjoy the ocean view
The ambiance & view were absolutely amazing. We enjoyed the appetizers a lot! Dinner - not so much. Not really worth the price. It’s more like you’re paying for the view.
Nonetheless, I will be back next time for appetizers, drinks, & the gorgeous view!
Always great to be at Geoffrey’s but just wish that I would get that table on the corner for sunset viewing... it was a special night celebrating our anniversary and a birthday and I did request that table and my favorite waiter Hans. But did not get either! But food and service was amazing anyway. Thanks
Ambiance is incredible. The only the that would have made it better is if we would have had reservations around sunset or for brunch to really take in the view. It was still incredible, though. The food was delicious - beef carpaccio, tuna tar tar, oysters- everything was great. The cocktails are good, I tasted my friend’s Malibu and wished I would have ordered it. A few of us shared the lemon mousse dessert. It was denser than I was expecting, but very enjoyable. I was not prepared for the huge dessert portions! Desserts are definitely shareable. The price is a little steep, but the ambiance, views, food and service makes it worth every penny. Keep in mind you’re in Malibu. I would recommend this restaurant.
Amazing dinner, great soundtrack of waves as it’s right by the ocean. Dinner for two with drinks and an app and dessert will run you $200. Great evening!
The best part about this place is the location. Gorgeous beach below and the view is amazing. However, I felt the service was impersonal and rushed, and the food could have been better for the price. The food wasn't bad, it just was uninspired and mediocre. Dining area was too dim and if you're unfortunate to be stuck inside, it's loud. A little disappointed, expected more for a restaurant purportedly of that caliber.
Absolutely a great all around night. Everything was perfect from the food to the ambiance. Couldn't ask for anything more.
I really love Geoffrey's and was hoping I would have another great experience. However, I was shocked to bite into something grainy that was in my maine lobster salad. I poked around and noticed there was sand at the bottom if the plate. I informed my waiter and showed him the sand that was fully visible all over the bottom plate and yet he nonchalantly took the plate and asked if I wanted something else. That really killed my palate. I tried to cleanse it out with water but it really ruined my lunch.
If I said the food was average, that would be putting it nicely. My husband ordered a filet medium rare and when it came it was medium well on one half and medium rare on the other. It was unevenly cooked. I ordered the swordfish and it was dry. I’m used to eating at nice restaurants and I don’t mind spending money on food. This dinner wasn’t worth $40 let alone the $200 we paid. The only redeeming thing about this place was the view. It was our anniversary and I’m really bummed we spent it here.
5 Star all around
really nice view, I would like to visit again when sunset.
Everything was excellent...food, service, ocean view. We will go back for sure. Highly recommend this spot!
Very beautiful restaurant on the beach in Malibu. Service is excellent. A little pricey but worth it for special occasions.
Go to sit on table 19 , the small two top with the view ! The waiter was amazing and made the night even more special. Everyone was very attentive. Someone even went out of their way to turn on the heater lamp for me , to not be cold ! The food was delicious and the view was amazing like always ! Had the best date night ! Thank you Geoffrey’s!
Great view, polished attentive service, top notch!
Classy yet relaxed set up overlooking the water. Attentive service. Quite civilized. Good value for a tasty wagyu NY steak.
Geoffery’s was a real gem! The service was exceptional, the views were impeccable, and the food was delicious.
I would highly recommend this restaurant for all occasions as well a good place to relax and enjoy.
Great spot for a special occasion. its a little on the high price end so be aware of that ... Parking is $12 so look for a spot on the street for free if possible to save some cash.
The location is fabulous but the food underwhelming.
The sea bass was amazing. Our server was delightful. Great evening out with friends.
We were celebrating our 2 year anniversary and I made a special request to be seated in the patio area with a view. I even called twice when they wanted me to call back to confirm (waited both times for more than 10 mins to get someone on the phone). When we got there, we got a table that was suppose to be seated for 4 people and didn't have much of a view so we asked again to be seated next to the rail. After waiting for another 20 mins, we were seated only 2 table over and not near the rail. When we got to the table, the table was still wet. Our waiter then dropped the fork on me but she did apologize. Our food came in fair amount of time and it tasted pretty good. My paella was good but my boyfriend's sea bass was a little cold with cold tomato on top which was an interesting combination. Usually at any restaurant when you celebrate a special occasion, they acknowledge it, they might bring you a little something to celebrate the occasion . I usually wouldn't care or complain but they gave the table next to us a little bowl of ice cream for their anniversary but didn't say anything about ours at the end of the meal. And when the check came, they double charged us for the valet ($24). I was really disappointed since I've always had a great experience at Geoffrey's. I won't be coming back!
Perfect from the moment we arrived. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
We did not think the food was anything special. The location and view are amazing. Also, the restaurant does not do anything special for anniversary celebrations, i.e. take care of a desert for you which was disappointing to say the least. I thought the service was fairly good.
This is one of my favorite places for a special occasion. The food and service are great. Also has one of the best Pacific views.
Go there for the views. Food and service are OK for the money
Would highly recommend everything was great, view, service, food
I always love Geoffrey's, especially the lobster salad for brunch.
The restaurant, the service, and food was outstanding!!! Such a beautiful location, and food was exceptional!
Duke at the bar was great! Our server was also outstanding, I just can't recall her name. The food was excellent and the view was second to none. Great job Geoffreys!
The location and view were amazing. Wasn’t blown away by the food but also am not a culinary expert. So have no real gauge on if it’s worth the price. Steak dinner was about $60
A little pricy but Wagyu stake was worth it. Nice scenic view, and walk to the beach. Waiter was very nice. Booked a week in advance and they called two days before to confirm --- very organized. Looked like good seats were given to regulars or VIPs which made us feel very under appreciated.
