Geoffrey's Malibu has a wonderful New Year's Prix Fix Dinner Menu at $98 per person. Menus are also available on our website Geoffreysmalibu.com
From the moment we stepped in the staff and ambience were incredible. Perfect view and food was very tasty
Geoffrey's was just as described -- a slightly pricy, wonderful restaurant, with gorgeous views, good service, and someone who knows what they're doing in the kitchen. Highly recommended -- make a reservation and ask to be seated on the terrace (with heat lamps).
Save up for this place - it is pricey. Great location and cuisine, but you'll pay for it...
Wonderful experience for brunch. The views and fresh air was great as was the service. The food was very good. I had the crab cake Benedict and my wife had the shiitake omelette.
Drinks were awesome.
I give them a 4.5 overall.
Lovely setting but the food was disappointing. Not bad but not excellent and clearly you pay for the view
Fantastic evening all around
The view was superb but the food was okay.
The pain perdu we ordered was super delicious.
What a beautiful dining experience! Sat on the outdoor patio (which is huge) overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Surrounded by the ocean, tropical landscape, flowers and a babbling brook. Service was AMAZING! Food was served quick, hot and delicious. Went for brunch and would definitely go back again. My new favorite spot.
Amazing in all aspects!
Just underwhelming really
One of the most scenic restaurants on this part of the coast, Geoffrey's is consistently outstanding in both cuisine and service every time we visit.
AMAZING! The service and views are always fantastic. Every time I visit LA this place is a must. The food and wine are very good and consistent.
Food was great - that Brie is to die for! Our server Courtney was fantastic. We will be back
Thank everything was great!! The food, service and ambiance was incredible! Hudson was our server and made our experience even better!!!
The food was excellent, as always. Surf and turf is a lot of food so go hungry. The Chilean sea bass was excellent, although my girlfriend preferred the potatoes that came with the surf and turf. The service this last time we went, however, was not the best. Our server never came to check on us after the food was delivered, so I didn't even get the chance to order a second glass of wine (guess they didn't want the money). Desert was great, but again, our server didn't even ask if we wanted any additional beverages--he was quick to grab the desert menu, though. Nice meal, great view and ambience as always, but service was meh.
I discovered Geoffreys in the late 80s and have been returning as often as I can (am an East Coaster) since. MANY friends have become regulars as well and we all share a fondness and respect for this treasure.
Amazing views and top quality food experience (second to none)!!!
Probably the best views of all time in Malibu other than getting into some movie stars residence on the hills. Amazing service by Ricky, our waiter!!!!
Yelp showcases the best pictures and that’s to be expected. It is beautiful IF you’re seated in prime seating real estate. I know for next time time, if we go back and it will be just to experience the view that we missed out on this time around. Our view was obscured by shrubbery and we were seated in the second row behind those seated closest to the view, not that the view was much better there.
All that being said the service was great, they were very friendly and attentive. The food was good, but not out of this world. I’m assuming most, like my self, go to Geoffrey’s for a comprehensive culinary experience. We ordered the crab cakes and mussels as our starter. The portion sizes are generous and the starters were tasty, but again not anything you can’t get at another restaurant.
For our main entrée my husband ordered the seafood paella. The seafood in his paella was cooked nicely, but we could’ve done without the broth. It also was lacking the signature socarrat that any good paella will have. Nevertheless, it was tasty, but it didn’t knock our socks off. I ordered the scallops, I was torn between the scallops and the sea bass, I asked what the better choice was and our waiter suggested the scallops. The scallops were cooked perfectly, however, I can only assume that the pan wasn’t properly wiped down or cleaned because they tasted slightly bitter, like burnt oil or butter. The risotto was tasty though.
So if we go back, I’ll have to make sure we are seated in a prime location just to take in the beautiful view, as far as going back for the food there isn’t anything unique that I would drive back for.
The seared Ahi took the Salad Nicoise to a whole new level. The eggs Benedict with prosciutto exceled. Staff was attentive but not hovering. Beautiful ocean overlook. A premier brunch experience.
Went here for V-day. We made reservations ahead of time because we knew it would be crowded. Arrived a bit early and the staff welcomed and seared us right away. No waiting which was great. We drove 60 miles to get here through LA traffic. 5/5.
The atmohsphere was lively. The place was packed! They had propane heaters to ensure that the guests were kept warm. It wasn't that cold and they surrounded us with the heaters. It was a bit too hot and no one asked if the temperature was okay for us. 4/5.
We were presented with the menu and wine list. I was a bit dissappointed in how the wine was presented. Did not offer a taste test. For the price, I expected a sample taste and poured in front of me. 3/5.
First course: We ordered the mix green salad topped with fresh rasberry, blue cheese, and a vinaigrette. This was decent. The presentation was there. We also got the braised beef belly. My wife said it was a bit salty, but I thought it was okay with the glass of wine. I enjoyed it better than the filet mignon that I ordered for the second course.
Second course: My wife ordered the Fresh Maine Lobster. It came out cold and overcooked, which made it chewy like rubber. You'd expect that if I ate rubber, it would at least be hot. I guess this is the best they can do. 2/5.
The filet mignon was a little better. It was under seasoned and cooked medium well. I asked for medium rare. The mash potatoes were served warm with gravy. This dish came with asparagus that was cooked fine, but again served under temperature. 2/5.
Course 3: The desserts were excellent. We got the dark chocolate cookie and the raaberry cheesecake.
Overall, our experience at Geoffrey's made me reconsider coming back. We had planned a family outing here, but based on the night, it's unlikely. There was no "wow" in the food, unfortunately. For the price of the food, it was not worth it. TBH, we could have gone to a far better restaurant for a better experience!
We decided to go there for Valentines Day, and went the day after. After a beautiful drive up PCH, and through Malibu, we were met by the nicest valet staff, who quickly gave us a valet ticket, and sent us on our way. We walked down the steps, and were greeted by the host staff, who promptly took our reservation, and told us that while we were waiting for our table, to please enter the bar. Before we ordered a drink, we were called to our table, and the host actually came and found us at the bar (the first time a hostess had ever done that at a restaurant.) We were led to our table, which was outside on the balcony, close to the beach, and we could hear every crash of the waves against the beach. The food was exquisite, the rolls were the best rolls I had ever had, and Timothy was the best server I ever had! It is worth the drive, worth the price, and worth the effort to get to this restaurant! The best restaurant I’ve ever been to!
One of my favorite Los Angeles dining experiences, this time the food was cold, service mediocre and the additional 4% service fee on top of an $85 per person fix menu was ridiculous!
Overall the restaurant was good. Location was great, wish I had a view of the ocean because we where celebrating birthday and valentine's day, which was noted but not honored. The food was good. Service was lacking attention ( I know it was busy) but we had to wait for our food order and there was at least 40 min between our entrée wait. But what most bother me was the restaurant space, it felt very crowed, literally everyone was on top of each other, the staff had to walk sideways so they don't bump the tables. A couple times our waitress was taking pictures to other guests and she was literally on top of me, she excused herself but of course is not something you want to experience. I would go again, definitely a low season but it will be awhile.
Geoffreys was impressive as usual. Our server was wonderful and had such a great attitude. We can’t wait to come back.
Poor service, disgusting food, won't be going back.
Great from start to finish. Thank you.
Overall a satisfactory dining experience but my car was damaged by the valet.
We went for an anniversary celebration and I’m so glad that we went here. The brunch was delicious and the view... you’d have to come see it yourself. Unbelievable view and the atmosphere was amazing. The waiters were so caring and did everything they could to make sure we were satisfied. The valet was super easy and the valet drivers were so kind!
$400 for a meal for too and Got served with the cold food, very disappointed.
Geoffrey is a hole in the wall located in Malibu, Ca.
The twisty scenic route to get there is amazing. Once there the waiters were super kind and always made sure you had bread, water, ect.
Service was fairly quick or it being on Valentines day.
The food was amazing and you can tell everything was cooked to perfection.
The view to top it off makes you forget about your busy life and makes you just relax and live in the moment.
Never disappoints. The ambiance, food a d service exceed expectations.
Fabulous! Wonderful ambiance! Romantic! Great service! Delicious food! It was so perfect for Valentine's day and/or a special occasion. Highly recommend.
It was amazing
Great location with amazing views. We came for Valentine’s Day and it was a fixed menu. It was excellent nevertheless. Service was great. The cocktails are delicious but the Sancerre white wine was perfect.
Over rated for what this Resturant is. The view is the only benefit they have. At the same time there are many fine dining Resturant to chooses from, that have similar malibu Views. They treat themselves with a 6 diamond mindset as well as price but deliver 3 star quality performance. They do not know how to Cook a filet with out butterflying it , their the farthest from being equivalent to Mastro’s , Cut by Wolfgang puck, bel air hotel, The Blvd, the list goes on...
The food here is not good. The view is amazing. Multiple tables around us complained about the same steak dish being cold. The manager told each table the same thing. We could all hear the manager saying the same line to each table after they sent the dish back. If you are looking for good for and great views, do not eat here. If you are looking for okay drinks and great views, eat here. My advice to management to make customers return: 1. Stop charging for valet and take your wages increase notice off the menu. It feels like you are nickel and diming me. 2. Dramatically improve the food. 3. Raise your prices.
Great romantic setting, would come back without second guessing
The server Donald was exceptional and extremely attentive and with great recommendations. Definitely will go back again for their overall experience.
so amazing, beautiful views.
Dinner was perfect from the moment we pulled into the valet lot. We were greeted warmly by the staff and seated at a beautiful waterfront table immediately. Our server was quite knowledgeable and very professional but friendly. The food was fantastic and the desserts too. I’ll set be back but maybe for lunch to see the view a little better
