Gennaro's Italian Ristorante
Always delicious with great atmosphere. The waiter was a little slow. Maybe he is newer. He was pleasant. We were not in a hurry.
The food was outstanding, service was a little slow.
My favorite restaurant in the Charleston area. Always great! The mussels are the best around.
We had a wonderful dinner Saturday night and had the best server that walked us through the menu.
The food was delicious and desserts divine. Please make a reservation and go you won't regret it.
Always great food
We've been patrons to this restaurant for 6 years now . Absolutely love it!
My first time visiting Gennaro's. The food was very good. Service was good, everyone friendly.
I had a dish on the gluten-free menu it was excellent! My only complaint was it was too dark as I was there for lunch.
Outstanding in every aspect, we love the food and service. Reminds us of the Italian restaurants in New York.
Great food & service, a little pricey but still delicious.
Food was great, but the service was very poor and slow.
The most authentic Italian Restaurant in this area. The food never disappoints.
Make a reservation, always busy.
Been there several times, always wonderful, always good service and good food
Amazing place for a first date. It was quite and great place for conversation. Food was amazing and our waitress was awesome m. This restaurant is a must 😂😁
The tuna in my Tuna Saltimbocca was excellent quality, but ruined by an inexplicable excess of Marsala sauce. I order chicken and veal saltimbocca whenever I see it on an Italian restaurant menu, and I've never experienced anything like the version I was served at Gennaro's. Completely different than anything I've received in any other restaurant, and very disappointing. Everything was swimming in a pool of marsala wine based sauce, so that was the only flavor discernible. I like Gennaro's but would never order this dish again.
The service was great, we felt very welcome. I had the lasagna it was very bland.
Great food, service and value. A reminder of great family owned Italian restaurants from the northeast.
I recommend Gennaro's to anyone that likes Italian food. The ambiance is great and the staff is very friendly.
Great evening! Awesome Jazz band! Wonderful food and service!
Excellent food and our server was outstanding. Very dark inside tho maybe turn on a few more lights.
Beat Italian restaurant in the Charleston Area. A go-to place for family gatherings.
Great food with a hard to find intimacy with your significant other.
For the price we paid, that included a “buffet surcharge”, can’t compete with other brunches we’ve had
Excellent choices, superb presentations and Amber amounts on each plate. The 🍞 bread was wonderful and so fresh! Our waitress was friendly and offered great advice, he was very knowledge!
Great experience everytime. My boyfriend and I come here all the time. Its our favorite restaraunt.
Sat too close to Jazz band
The menu has a nice variety the waiters are very knowledgeable and the price is right
We’re from NY and are Sicilian so we don’t eat Italian put very often but I have to say...it was like having dinner with my full blooded Sicilian parents! The sauce rivaled my mother’s and the meatballs were fantastic! Paired with the fresh, hot bread...it was a great meal! The ambience was perfect and the staff polite and accommodating. We’ll definitely be going there often when we move down here.
As always the meal was excellent. Traditional Italian at its best.
Great service and food both our appetizers and main dishes were excellent! I would recommend for sure.
The service and food was great. We will be back again.
We are regular dinners. The food is great. The veal dishes are our are among our favorites and the best we have found in Charleston
This was my husband and my second visit to Gennaros. We were joined by neighbors from New York who said the ambiance reminded them of Italian restaurants in Greenwich Village. Service was wonderful! Love their Italian bread! I had the Shrimp orecchiette, as did my friend Tina. We both thought the serving was huge and the dish was delicious! My husband had Chicken prosciutto which he thoroughly enjoyed. And our neighbor David had the lasagna which he gave his seal of approval. The desserts sounded tempting but everyone was too full for another bite. We will be back!
The pasta dishes have been somewhat a disapointment of late. Most recently had the veal marsala. The veal sat in a watery marsala sauce that didn't have much flavor. My wife had the shrimp parm. It seemed over fried. Service was so-so. We've yet to see some of the same faces whenever we go there once a year like we do the other local restaurants. Seems to have a constant turnover of staff. I think if we go back, we will just go with pizza from now on.
The food was good and you do get a nice portion. I’m sure they dim the lights for ambience, but it does make it difficult to read the menu. I would recommend a try. We will certainly go back again.
We have been coming here for 15+ years now and it is always a reliably excellent Italian meal with good service. Portions are generous. Pricing is reasonable.
I live very close and I had in the past had so many bad experiences
But because of scheduling I came to get a quick meal mostly for convenience
I was very surprised, the service was efficient, warm and professional
The food was excellent!
The door still need to be better managed!!
Have been going there for years, never a problem, food & service always unequaled.
Great food. We had a wonderful dinner and our waiter was attentive, friendly and professional.
I definitely recommend Gennaro’s Ristorante!!
Excellent food & service. Its our favorite restaurant.
