Very upscale atmosphere. The longe area was very nice. We had a reservation for 8 pple and had 2 pple running late so we weren’t seated till 830. We sat at the bar where the waitress admitted she was new and let us know she wasn’t having a good day and didn’t know any prices. They were out of a lot of beer. They didn’t even have bud light. And ran out of another beer while we were there. We wanted shots of saki but our server was pushing a bottle on us and wouldn’t give us individual prices. Over all we had a good time bc we weren’t in a rush but it did take them a while to get us out sushi and start cooking on the hibatchi we didn’t leave till about 11.
The service was good but the cook and food were terrible. The cook was not only slow but boring there was no tricks performed or any sort of entertainment. Also the food was extremely bland, adding soy sauce to the food just made it salty it didn't enhance the flavor at all. Lastly the butter used is not garlic butter that is a total hoax, it looks and taste more like margarine. Definitely first and last day eating at this place.
I was excited about trying this place! I was quickly disappointed when it took our server 10 minutes to get our drink order. I chose the sushi buffet which comes with Miso soup and salad. Soup was actually good! The lettuce at the salad bar was more brown than green! The sushi was too warm and just didn't taste fresh...
Our Chef didn't speak well English and our food came out one at a time. Rice was overcooked and asked several times for yum yum sauce and he didn't know what we said. Didn't even tell us his name. Overall we still enjoyed our time and kids were looking forward to popcorn but it was made bad and overlooked as well.
Came in here yesterday night with my dad who's wheelchair bound. Staff was very accommodating and the waitress (forgot her name) and the manager (Reza) were wonderful. Made us feel comfortable and always checked up on us to make sure we were at ease. Definitely a place I'm going to come back to with my friends in the future.
I didn't stay long enough to order my food this time around. I am a customer that dines here frequently however today I was stunned by how rude the owner was. My reservations were at 9 and I came 15 minutes prior. I ordered a drink while I waited for my friends to arrive. A little after 9 my friends let me know they would be a few minutes late. The owner came up to my table and started to point to his watch and say we close at 10. Are they coming or what? Excuse me? Is this Anyway to speak to a customer let alone a customer who dines in frequently? I think not. I paid for my drink and walked out. Will not come back.
Was really looking forward to taking my husband and in-laws to Gengi as I had been to the Midland and Saginaw locations in the past. Was very disappointed with our chef- he barely spoke to us and didn't do a single trick. My in-laws were really looking forward to a show and didn't get one at all :( Food was good, but a bit over salted. Beautiful location.
The experience was awesome again the chef who we called garlic man was amazing the best cooking yet he was from Saginaw and just came to help he was exceptional he sang and had us all singing with him and clapping and he knows how to make popcorn I left a few photos of our visit we usually go every week for sushi or dinner
I love this place but the hibachi chef did not know the difference between halal and non halal meat and he confused us the whole time. I would tell everyone to go to this place to eat but it should have a more strict way by the way they take care of the halal meats and not mix them with the nonhalal
Very nice and elegant looking. Service was better than most hibachi places. However, the food was not as good as most. Soup, salad and veggies were just like any other. But the fried rice wasn't as good as others and the cuts of filet were horrible compared to other hibachi resteraunts.
I was disappointed with the experience. The tofu appetizer was dull. The broth tasted like water, not soy or broth at all. The food was blah. Not much flavor, no garlic or salt. The cook was boring as hell. I ALWAYS tip the cook elsewhere but I never even considered it here. The table was roomy though. Only day 5 at the table. THAT was nice. They also didn't do popcorn.. what the heck? Because you were busy.. I'm sorry to hear your doing too well to give a full experience to every guest. Blah. Server was good.
