Always good food, ambiance and friendly staff. Value for money too
Just good Chinese good. Nothing fancy. Servers put the food down and run but they are nice about it. We’ve had the Peking duck a few times but last time the meat was very tough so doubt we will order it again. The food is like Chinese food was in the 60’s. Not gourmet and that’s what we like about it.
Great place to go for Chinese food ambience and entertainment.
Everything was fine, I felt we sat at the table a little too long before someone came over to take our drink order. Other than that the service and food was very good.
Best Chinese food outside of NYC! Fast friendly service
The New York style egg rolls are really close to what the wife and l use to get as kids. These are very good. The Queen Chicken and Cilantro Shrimp was delicious and the Old School Mai Tai has a nice kick to it. We will definitely be coming back the next time we are in LA.
Dinner with my sister. We had a great time.
Perhaps the best Chinese restaurant in all of Los Angeles - certainly in the top 2 or 3. And for ambiance, it cannot be challenged. Genghis Cohen is a restaurant worth coming back to time and time again.
A truly delicious meal. Potstickers are 100! Walnut shrimp, queens chicken, beef and broccoli, three flavor lo mein and the string beans. Everything amazing.
The decor is so fun and feels classic Hollywood, too.
The drinks are great. And we had terrific chocolate cake!
Food was very good, as usual, but service was a bit spotty. We had to keep asking for items that should have been brought to table (like white rice) with meal
The food was great as always !!
The noise level was “ bad” we couldnt hear each other since it was too loud...
The price quite high!
They told us to leave at 12 midnight
We still wanted to stay a little longer enjoying our friends ...
Has completely gone down hill
Best nyc style Chinese food outside nyc. Singapore noodles spot on. Queen chicken and Mongolian beef excellent. Egg roll filling a bit disappointing. Overall will make this a definite stop on all future l a trips.
Delicious, made to order Chinese
Great time and delicious food! We saw Rob Milton after in the venue. Perfect evening celebrating our best friend’s birthday.
The staff was very nice and attentive which set the pace for the rest of the night. The food was delicious and the bar was on par with any high end Hollywood restaurant. I would definitely recommend Genghis Cohen to anyone in the area, or anywhere for that matter.
We’ve been going to GC for many years. It’s a go to for very good Chinese food and we’ll be going back for years to come.
The service is very good. Everyone is very friendly and accommodating.
The food is great. Everything we get is tasty and satisfying.
It was a great feast to go there would love to continue to eat there as long they have a good menu to eat there.
Best Chinese in town! Great Mu Shu Pork, egg rolls, and Queen chicken...Will return soon!
the parking situation is hideous and I would not come back for that reason alone. my guest spent 20 min. trying to get a spot. there is no excuse for not providing valet service which 90% plus of all other LA restaurants do. you really need to fix this!
General flavor was mediocre
People were nice and other customers seemed happy
Perhaps we ordered the wrong items
We were in the back area and our waiter just kinda kept FORGETTING about us. No a big deal, but on a non-busy night, just ODD.
First time here. FANTASTIC surprise. We will definitely be coming back; and it’s a two hour drive. Worth it!!!
I always recommend this place. Been coming for years. It's our go to place for Chinese food. Love their unique take on classic dishes.
I always enjoy the Queen Chicken and the Cracker Jack Shrimp and I had not been there is a while, so I was hoping that it was still good, and it was delish!
Always a great place to eat! Food is superb, Staff is courteous. A bit pricey but typical for any high-end Chinese restaurant. Definitely recommend reservations, no matter what day of the week! Prime time to eat is 6:30-7:00
I have favorite items here and they never fail to please. The service is spot on and pleasant. The lively decor sets a festive mood.
My favorites incude: Spicy & Salty Tofu as an appetizer with extra pot sticker sauce, Pot roast Eggplant, Szechuan Shrimp, Mongolian Lamb and many others.
Outstanding as always: Food, service. I wish there were some tables and not just booths for groups of 2-4.
If you want East Coast New York style Chinese food, this is the place. The egg rolls alone are enough to make you drive over from the beach, so delicious!! The chinese mustard is hot, so be warned. They also do most of the menu Gluten Free.
The food and service was excellent, in a fun and cool looking restaurant amongst the classic rock and disco music. At lunch time on a weekday, there was no crowd. It was perfect!
Open Table sent me email with reservation but it didn’t populate on the computer at Genghis Cohen. I had to prove my reservation with the email.
Excellent service. Delicious food. Very clean bathrooms. Limited parking.
Food and service was very good. However, too many gnats hovering over the place.
Ample parking - full bar.
The food is delicious but slightly, expected, greasy. The duck is crispy on the outside and tender meat. It’s supposed to come with scallions but the server always forgets. I assume not on purpose. We do get it when we ask for it . We love cashew chicken but theirs comes with a semi Barbq sauce so we forgo it. Almost everything else you order is great. The service is fine and accommodating . They honor your reservation which is very important. They appreciate your business and you don’t have that feeling from many Chinese restaurants. There is a reason why they have been around for so long.
Without a doubt, the best egg rolls (New York Egg Rolls) I've ever eaten. Everything we had was cooked to perfection and I can't think of one dish that wasn't on the menu. The drinks were made perfectly and they were very generous with the alcohol. It's no wonder they have been at the same location for ages. Highly recommend the "old school" classic.
Doesn’t get any better then this.
Great ambiance. Food's delicious. Management and service superior.
I love Genghis Cohen but the soup was horrible and the shrimp wasn't very hot. I expected better.
