Some dishes were lacking flavor! Variety of some dishes not up to scale. Have been before with much better choices.
Fantastic food and service!
Our server Melissa was an absolute delight! Melissa and her assistant Andrew were both very professional and provided stellar customer service. The food was outstanding and we weren't even a little bit ashamed of going back the next morning for Brunch, which was also incredible.
Thank you to the team for a great birthday celebration
Our recent visit was a mixed bag and positives and negatives. The view and property as a whole is always lovely and there's a specialness about the dining room that makes it feel good to be there. We were given a lovely window table and our server was prompt. The wine was a generous pour and the food came out in a timely fashion. What didn't work so well was the uneven quality of the entrees. A very small chopped salad was $10. It should've been much larger. The crab cakes were delicious, but the caesar salad needed to be torn into bite-sized portions as the romaine spears were very large. There was too much parmesan on the toast point and only one anchovie on the salad. The salmon and collard greens were fantastic, and two of us had filet mignons which were very good. The side of mashed potatoes was delicious, thank you for using Yukon Gold! But the creamed spinach was just unacceptable. It was mostly swimming in cheese sauce with big pieces of cheese that completely overtook the dish. The only other disappointment was that whoever packed my doggy bag left all the collard greens on the plate instead of putting them in with my leftover piece of salmon. I'd try the place again but at these prices ($240 for the 4 of us and only one glass of wine for one person), the food should be impeccable.
Excellent service, excellent food. Quiet, relaxing and enjoyable.
We went for my Husband's Birthday. We were with friends and three of us ordered the filet medium rare. All 3 came out med- med/well. We asked for new ones and when they came out they were better but still overcooked a bit. Two of us went ahead and ate ours (since it took forever for the remakes to come & by the way these steaks had ZERO flavor). But, the other person in our paty wanted something else because hers was still pretty overcooked. When she told this to the server she caught an attitude and said she would let her manager know. When she did finally tell the manager (we watched as she told her), the manager looked right at us and never came by to say a word! All she wanted was the prime rib instead since they couldn't seem to get the steaks right. She FINALLY got what she wanted. Still never saw the manager. Having worked in the restaurant business for 19 years I find this highly unprofessional for a place that charges what they do. If you want to charge High End prices then you better act like a High End restaturant. Maybe get some chefs that know how to cook steak as well. We were very disappointed. There was one thing I enjoyed though, the mashed potatoes were on point! Haha
Perfectly cooked steak, delicious meal and excellent service.
Sherrie, our server, was great! Food, as always excellent!
Our Server Melissa was 2nd to none ..............she made the entire experience unreal and the food was great as well
Food was excellent as always. It was very crowded and we were sitting off to the side a bit in the restaurant. It was a bit noisy. A lot of people. Service was excellent but seemed to be rushing.
Our server was amazing!
Everything was perfect! Best filet I’ve had in ages; perfectly cooked. Mashed potatoes were amazing (skip the loaded potato). Even the chicken my daughter ordered was flavorful and moist.
The steaks were over seasoned and over cooked. Very disappointed. When someone has a bad meal don’t offer a dessert to compensate.
We have gone to Geneva Chop House several times over the years. Each time the service is excellent. They have a WONDERFUL Brunch Buffet on Sundays. The service is ALWAYS top of the line. This is one of my husband's favorites.
The service and the atmosphere were great. However, the food was too salty and only slightly warm upon arrival (pork chop). I believe the price of the meal was not worth our food arriving closer to cold than warm/hot.
Spouse & I ordered prime rib and a bake potato. Tasteless and luke warm at best. This was the worst prime rib i have ever had. No flavor and the ar jus was also flavorless. Left over half on the plate. Potato was way too huge! Would have preferred to have good food and smaller portion leaving me to want more, but instead I left over half of the meal. Was not ready for wine after just having beer, but felt pressured to make a decision and after the second time of say not yet, the waitress too my glass away. So no wine for me! Then concerned about how the dessert would taste after the meal we could not eat we declined, but we could tell the waitress was less than amused and left abruptly. So even if i wanted something her attitude was making it difficult to want anything. Then she shows up with a sample cheesecake and some line about how she could see we were celebrating. Now that would have been a great thing to say if you meant it, but we had just heard the speil being told to the couple behind us from her when we had just arrived to our table, so it lost its luster. I get it, she was trying to up the ticket for more tip, but when you become a used car salesman and keep using the same line on everyone it no longer works. We gave her 20% because it was not her fault your food was bad. She should work on her attitude and pleasantry if she wants to be tipped for her service and not just because.
Steak was good, but not great
Sides were so so
We had a wonderful meal at the Chophouse. The food was excellent and our wait staff was
very attentive. Our server Jules and her assistant did a great job.
We love dining here on special occasions. Really enjoyed our whole experience.
WE love the CHOPHOUSE. It is the perfect celebratory restaurant.
I loved view and friendly staffs but food is not tasty what I thought. Broccoli is to tough and salmon is to dry mushrooms are ok I probably visit again and try different dishes.
Great service. Our waitress was always available if we needed anything as well as the other staff. Everyone was very friendly and the food was delicious. Definitely will be returning
We have had great meals in the past at the Geneva Chophouse, but were bery disappointed this time. The Proscutto de Parma had a thick, rubbery brownish appearing piece of proscutto that was inedible and looked worrisome to eat. My husband’s salmon was supposed to come with rice but there was none. When we asked our server, she said the rice was like a sprinkle on top if the dish?? First, it wasn’t on the dish as a condiment nor should it be listed as coming with the dish. The onion soup was tasty but very little soup, mostly bread and cheese with onions. Our server was very nice and attentive, but we still were charged for the proscutto. She did buy us a dessert for our trouble. We walked away very disappointed and unsure of going back, which is sad.
Fantastic! Near French level service! Delicious local foods.
Best steak ever...melted in my mouth! The sauce for the grilled shrimp was simply amazing!
Was looking for something a bit quieter and more romantic.
Sunday brunch was incredible. So many options to choose from, all of it delicious. Bottomless mimosas alone are worth every penny!! Wait staff very attentive.
The food was excellent, as was the service. As for ambience - not what you'd call intimate. The lighting is bright, and no attempt is made at making the tables private, as they are all out in the open in one big room. If that doesn't bother you, you should love this place.
Went there 2 nights. Disappointed in new menu. Limited menu. Many people agreed . Service was good. Had salmon both nights. Wish there was another fish alternative like the sea bass you used to have.
Lovely ambiance. Cozy booths and tables averlooking the golf course and pond. Excellent service (our server, Darlene was great)
We had the crabcakes, and while they were all crabmeat, they were over-fried and too brown and very crunchy.
My steak wasn't as tender and I would have liked for the price, and my lobster was under done. Both steak and lobster were over priced for what I had.
The food was pretty mediocre. For example, the rolls at the “sushi bar” consisted of the sushi you would pull off a tray from a grocery store like Jewel or Trader Joe’s. I was not overly impressed by the value for the money ($34/adult for the buffet) unless you are looking to load up on a ton of food. I’d have been better off ordering breakfast off of a regular menu. That said, service was decent and the ambiance was generally pleasant.
Went to meet friends for brunch. The s ervcie was fantastic! The food was very good. Lots of choices.
We were celebrating a girls weekend birthday and it was the perfect kick off to our spa weekend. Ate more than I should have enjoyed every moment.
Everything was great. Food, service. Gave us a Rose too!
The brunch here is fabulous so we were really looking forward to dinner. My brother in law who's birthday it was, ordered the Strip Steak. For $44 he literally was served five thin strips of steak, with a shallot and a sprig of rosemary. We told him to take all the mashed potatoes so he's still have something to eat while we finished our meals. Completely not worth the price we were charnged! I had the filet, is was just ok. I wouldn't return there for dinner - not worth the price at all. The staff was very friendly and courteous so we will go back from brunch which is a great value and great food.
Food was excellent. The service was wonderful and it was a great place to celebrate a special occasion. A very special evening.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The food was dry and had minimal taste. Also a word of caution the Brussel sprouts had bacon in them but nowhere on any menu is that stated.
Additionally when we were finishing our meal and before the plates were taken away our dessert was brought out. We were also unimpressed with the service (despite the restaurant being fairly empty
The steak was very good, but many food items served were so distasteful we could not eat them (shrimp cocktail and spinach) and had to send back the French onion soup. The Mac and cheese served from the kids menu was a processed pre-packaged microwave meal for $12. Shameful to serve this to kids in a “high end” restaurant. I’ve eaten here at least 5 times before with great satisfaction, but this past experience was so disappointing that I will never eat here again.
Our reservation was for 1:00pm, we were seated right away. However, I don’t know if it was the late hour but the food selection was very minimal, and our waiter was no where to be found, we had someone else come and refill our glasses and get coffee. We were rather disappointed, we have been there in the past and were looking forward to the same service and food choices. Maybe dinner is a better option then brunch.
I was disappointed with the food this time around. Normally, this is a great place for brunch however, this visit everything was cold(including the carved Prime Rib and Turkey)! It was kind of a bummer because we were there to celebrate Valentine's. Also, the champagne tasted old and had a bad after taste. Very disappointing after having many a good meal there.
