Went there for an anniversary dinner. The staff were super friendly, and the food was excellent. Five stars!
My husband and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary at the Geneva Chophouse. The evening started with a rose and our table decorated with rose petals. It was beautiful! The food and wine was exceptional. We had steak, Oscar style, which had the best crab cake and bearnaise sauce. Wonderful atmosphere.
Had a nice experience overall, one of the better options in the area. Food was decent- not a ton of options but what was there was good. Service was fast and seamless.
The steaks were delicious. I chose the filet mignon, and my husband ordered the KC strip steak. Both were cooked to our liking. My side of carrots were deliciously covered in a sweet sauce. The potatoes tasted very good. Our waiter, Brian, was very knowledgeable and pleasant. It was our anniversary, so we received a large piece of carrot cake. It was over the top!
The steak and lobster were prepared perfectly! Tips for the Chef.
Excellent service and meal.
Was at the buffet in January and it was absolutely amazing. So much to chose from. This time there was about 1/4 the food. The mahi-mahi was cold and it was definitely sad. And the lack of food was a let down. Would love to see the buffet back to what it used to be.
First rate! Food was exceptional; service seamless. Hard to believe a restaurant of this quality could be in sleepy ol’ Lake Geneva.
Good food for the area, but not worth 4 or 5 stars. Service is great. Do NOT order the loaded potatoes sides. Ours were so overdone, it was like being served rocks.
It seemed like most of the restaurant was celebrating something as we were too! We liked the selections for wine and beer! Ordered a soup and salad for an appetizer, now I order my Caesar at most steakhouses never have I gotten a Caesar with dressing drizzled on top and a slice of super hard and dry bread for crouton, not to mention the huge sardine that came on the plate that stunk up the whole table! The onion soup was just ok ! As far as main selections the waitress asked how I wanted my salmon I said medium well I do not like it undercooked and I stated that but it came half undercooked and I basically ate the pieces that were cooked to my liking but I was so disappointed with my salad I did not want to mention the salmon! My husband ordered a bone-in steak the char was amazing and cooked the way he liked but he said it had a lack of seasoning in fact the bite I had was very bland but very delicious! The mashed potatoes were amazing we got the Yukon gold and loved them ! The broccolini was slightly different and seemed to be cooked on a cooktop and burned a little on one side- again not to our liking!
Dessert came out on the house but was carrot cake and delivered on a beautiful plate- but my husband hates carrot cake and unfortunately not given a choice so he didn’t have dessert that night I did enjoy it! Overall we would not care to dine there again just from this experience was enough to not return!
The table next to us was loud and rude. I mentioned it to our server.
Her response was” they are getting dessert next “.
The woman in the red dress was awful and loud.
Nothing was done about it.
If you expect to pay these prices, you expect a better experience .
Sad to say, I always loved this restaurant, we were at the Grand Geneva for a PD / FD Pension Conference, so I thought I would enjoy my birthday dinner here.
My lamb chops were badly charred, no were near medium rare, the marbled potatoes were over cooked, and their lobster and crab meat mac and cheese wasn't very good either.
I will not be going back here again.
Our server, Korin, was absolutely outstanding! She was engaging, knowledgeable about the entire menu & made fantastic recommendations! She went to great lengths to make us feel beyond special.
For the price, the food need to be exceptional, it is average-plus. We were thankful for the anniversary rose petals on the table but the complimentary dessert ( a muti-layed chocolate cake) was awful. Great staff.
Food was incredible. Would drive up just for this restaurant. Steak melted in your mouth. Also enjoyed the garlic mashed potatoes and creamed corn. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Cannot wait to go back.
Wonderful place for brunch great variety of freshly prepared foods.
Celebrating our anniversary. When we arrived were seated by a window overlooking the water. There were rose petals on our table, a wonderful start to our meal. Our server was excellent from cocktails to dessert our meals were perfectly prepared. We will definitely be returning.
Top notch. They know how do treat you special
Another enjoyable evening.
Made our anniversary, the food, wine and drinks were fantastic. The steak and lobster Mac and cheese was 10/10. We will be coming back
One of the best steaks I’ve ever had - and I love steak!
Food was amazing! Service fantastic! Perfect date night spot!
Business meeting with important client. Food was great, ambiance great, server was exceptional. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!!!!
I feel as though the menu has gotten less broad than in previous years...I miss the chops
We had a wonderful Anniversary dinner. Our server Candice was 5 stars all the way. She gave excellent recommendations and made our experience unforgettable.
The lamb was excellent. Definitely a good place to go and eat Great food. Yes I recommend it.
Food was great! Atmosphere great! Loved everything! Only thing that was disappointing is we were brought the chicken dinner by accident of the server and still had to pay for it. We didn’t want it and did not order but she misunderstood. We wished they would have taken it off the bill. Overall great food.
Too much hype. Service was great, however in our party of 6 there were 4 entrees that either came out cold and were sent back or overcooked (steaks) .While management remove some items or credit them off the bill, you go to a high end steak house to avoid bad meals, not get them comped. First and most likely last time there.
The whole night was an amazing experience from beginning to end. The food was phenomenal. Every single course was cooked to perfection and the presentation was stupendous. Our server Justin was nothing less than amazing. Truly enhanced the entire experience for us and went out of his way to make sure that we were having the time of our life.
We had a great dinner at the Chop House. Decided to splurge a little on the Wagyu Flatiron and we’re glad we did! Also I highly recommend the loaded potatoes and the carrots as your choice for sides. Absolutely the best carrots I’ve ever had!
A fabulous brunch and great staff ! Alex was wonderful! The vibe is easy like Sunday morning with some great music and delicious brunch! You will not be disappointed!
This is hard for me to write, but it has to be said. Geneva Chophouse always had one of the best brunches around. We’ve been staying at the Grand Geneva for over 25 years, since it was the Americana. We always end the weekend with a delicious Sunday brunch. This visit was a huge disappointment. They have completely reworked the brunch and not only is there less food, but they’ve tried to become too eclectic with the food they do serve. Do not take a child to this brunch unless they bet have an extremely sophisticated palette. I’m not saying that the food needs to be dumbed down, but a variety would be good. Not a single waffle, sausage link, scrambled egg or breakfast potato in sight. The Eggs Benedict was mediocre at best, flavorless and cold. The potato hash was dry. The chicken was also dry. The best part of the brunch was the dessert table and even that had been paired down. Most kids I saw were eating the cinnamon rolls and that was it. That’s a mighty expensive cinnamon roll if that’s all your kids will eat. Change is not always good. There’s a reason the brunch used to be packed, that’s because it used to be good.
The food and service was outstanding. Will come again.
The filet with brandy peppercorn sauce is wonderful! The summer salad was also delicious. If visiting soon take them up on the special offer for Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon by the glass. Service (Hugo) provided excellent service
Our rack o lamb was perfect as was the side selections.
Our server, Sherri, was fabulous. We came in at 5:30 and she wasn't busy so we had a chance to talk.
Sweet lady. I would ask for her again.
Always enjoy coming to the Geneva Chophouse for a date night or anniversary :-) Our server was amazing!! He made the whole dinner that much better.
Best steak. Everything else was just ok
We had a 1:30 reservation for Sunday brunch to start off of Lake Geneva getaway. We've been visiting the Grand for years and Sunday brunch at the chophouse is something we always look forward to. We walked in to a near empty restaurant, which was unusual and the floors were filthy.... it didn't look like they had the normal buffet we came for. The carving station had the remnants of possibly prime rib, I'm not sure. When someone finally came to our table fill water, she said our waiter would be with us shortly and said they changed their buffet. They also removed all the kids items so children order off of the menu and are charged for their order. Let me say, their changed buffet is beyond disappointing. Very limited options, the food was cold and stale, the carving station was non existent. In the past,on Sunday's you would walk past the restaurant to the see crab legs and sushi on display along with the massive spread of any brunch item you could possibly desire. That is no more. There was an omelet station, bacon ( bacon is always good), quiche (cold), strata (cold and bland), cinnamon rolls (good), Dutch apple pancake( ok but not hot), corned beef hash ( cold) and a few other cast iron skillets of items I didn't care to try. Then there was a small dessert spread ( decent), a charcuterie board ( sort of gross bc it was sitting out and the meats were curling, yuck), same crab legs, you peel shrimp and a small salad board. For $50?!?! Sorry to say, you should pass on the brunch here. Used to be great, but I will never recommend again.
We ate here for brunch. It is more per person than the other restaurant. We thought there would be more selection of food as it was like 2 years ago. Food selection wasn't that big and the food was ok. We will eat on the other side next time cheaper and a better selection for the money.
