About Gemelli's Restaurant
Ristorante Gemelli is a unique dining experience in Italian dining, bringing the best of North and South Italian cuisine in a comfortable, delightful atmosphere.
Ristorante Gemelli is the natural progression from the family's gourmet food market down the street which has been a staple in Babylon since 1988 and has been a Mecca for fine Italian food on the South Shore. Gemelli Fine Foods and Ristorante Gemelli is family owned and operated.
Ristorante Gemelli opened its door in 1997. It is tastefully decorated in the Mediterranean style with subdued lighting, cream colored walls with sea foam green and brick accents, and atrium with high ceilings and gracefully draped curtains. Candle lit tables and Italian music softly playing in the background add a romantic touch to this comfortable, airy dining room, one of the prettiest on Long Island. Both the quality of the food and the restaurant's atmosphere combine to ensure that guests have a positive experience.

Gemelli's Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
First, coat check was not attended. Second, MaitreD was dressed to sweep the cellar. Room was lovely, nicely decorated for Christmas. Caesar Salad was great. Oysters were old and dreadful. Ordered six, ate one. Paid for six. Bronzino good. Fillet Mignon ordered medium rare, served RAW. Steak was poor quality. Did not eat. Asparagus were good. Mashed potatoes were awful. Did not eat. Pasta special was a bowl of inedible mush. Did not eat. Decent Tuscan red at a fair price. Great waiter, Giuseppe. But, he failed to notice that we did NOT eat the food except the Caesar and the Bronzino. We paid for a lot of poor quality, inedible food. Will NEVER return.
We went for our 20th Anniversary. Restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Gave us the table by the fire place we requested. Everyone took great care of us! Love their food! My favorite is the grilled artichokes with the hot antipasto. Perfect place for a special occasion.
We have been customers for years, but Saturday night we sat at the bar for 15 minutes and the bartender ignored us. Other patrons were complaining that they were also being ignored. We went to our table , out of the four dinners ordered two of them were wrong. My husband and his friend ordered fish and they brought out the wrong fish. So we all had to wait a half hour for them to make new meals. We won't be coming back..
My server was outstanding. The rest of the staff however when thy walked by the table never stepped in to help out. The cuisine is phenomenal here. You will never have a bad meal. The fireplace is great when its on, it wasn't that night that's why the 4 stars.
We ordered Grouper for the restaurant week special, very surprised how "small" the dinner plate was, even another dinner guest at the next table made a remark (thought is was the size of an appetizer). Salad was good, nothing special, dessert was very good. Disappointed with our choice of grouper, it was tasty but would not order that again. Not a good value... Service and setting is always great!!!
We went here during Restaurant Week. The meal, the ambiance, everything was first rate. The discounted dinner came to $162 for 2 with cocktails, a modest bottle of wine, tax and tip. It was worth it.
Looking at the regular menu, though, I estimated that a similar meal would cost around $250. It's not that good.
Great ambiance, relaxing atmosphere, friendly and courteous hosts and servers, engaging bartender, and wonderful menu all make Gemelli's one of my favorite restaurants. All the food is farm fresh, beautifully prepared, and tastes amazing. Nice wine list with fair priced bottles and excellent desserts. Can't wait to go back!
We were at Gemelli's for as rendez-vous with another couple that we only see infrequently. They like excellent food, which we certainly got. We also had very personal and elegant service, a friendly reception, and a lovely quiet atmosphere in which to enjoy catching up. People came and went but we did not feel the place ever got loud, and there was no pressure for us to hurry. Before we knew it, three hours had passed, and we had worked our way through many courses. You can expect to pay a little more, but the quality is really top-notch, while the place is comfortable and relaxed. Great place to enjoy a little pampering!
This dinner did a lot to restore our opinion of Gemelli's.
The hostess was charming although we were not shown to a desirable table.
Our waiter. Ozzie, was attentive. The wine was fairly priced. The complimentary olives were a bit too spicy. The bread was fair. The baked clam appetizer was dreadful, dry baked, flavorless bread crumbs. . Do not order the clams. The fillet mignon w asparagus and mashed potatoes was excellent. The beef was first quality and cooked to order. The main course could not have been better. $40 was a fair price for such fine beef. $8 was absurd for two tiny scoops of ice cream. We will be back for the wine and the beef💞
Wonderful food but pricey! Excellent pasta dish with pesto and shrimp although a bit pricey for 25. We asked the waiter the price of the blue point oysters which were a special and he said he would check. He came back and told us $1 each! My husband loves oysters so he ordered a half dozen. When we received the check we were charged $2 each so $12 for 6. We told him and he said he made a mistake is that ok? We said please adjust the bill please. He rushed off and came back clearly throwing the check at me in disgust. He was one of the rudest waiters I have ever encountered in all my dining experiences. Unfortunate ending to a wonderful meal.
