Ristorante Gemelli is the natural progression from the family's gourmet food market down the street which has been a staple in Babylon since 1988 and has been a Mecca for fine Italian food on the South Shore. Gemelli Fine Foods and Ristorante Gemelli is family owned and operated.
Ristorante Gemelli opened its door in 1997. It is tastefully decorated in the Mediterranean style with subdued lighting, cream colored walls with sea foam green and brick accents, and atrium with high ceilings and gracefully draped curtains. Candle lit tables and Italian music softly playing in the background add a romantic touch to this comfortable, airy dining room, one of the prettiest on Long Island. Both the quality of the food and the restaurant's atmosphere combine to ensure that guests have a positive experience.
We showed up promptly for our dinner reservation and left about 15 minutes after we were seated. No one bothered to serve water or drop off a menu or even acknowledge our presence. Some big groups there, very disorganized and not worth the effort to complain. With so many other choices, we will not return. Terrible way to treat customers.
All I can say is the service, the food, the wine selection.. everything was excellent.
The server needs a lot of work. The owners are amazing. You literally are made to feel like you are a guest in their home. The food and wine are always amazing.
My wife and I had an excellent experience at Gemelli's. We will definitely dine here again.
Excellent dining. The food is delicious and beautifully prepared and presented. Nice staff and ambiance.
A favorite! We have dinner often and have brought friends.
Very nice experience. Food fresh and delicious Our waiter was kind, funny and professional. The Bartender extremely friendly
great place for a quiet lunch get together . we always enjoy the occasion. our waiter Andrew was very pleasant, efficient and accommodating.
Great service - attentive. Not rushed. Food very good
We had a wonderful time. Our food was excellent, and we enjoyed every aspect of this restaurant.
Great family owned restaurant - never go wrong with anything you select.
We booked our 50th Anniversary Family dinner for this fall
I am Italian. That is it. I do not think that I will go again in this restaurant. The recipe are modified to the USA request. Very expensive 115 dollars for one antipasto an two first course ???
The food was a little bit on the expensive side but well worth it. One of the best meals I have every had. The service was friendly and prompt but I found the waiter a little bit too familiar for a high end restaurant. I found it a little bit disrespectful. A couple of jokes can be entertaining but I came for a fine dining experience, not for stand up! The decor is a little old fashioned and could use a little bit of refreshing.
Anyway, I thought my food was wonderful.
Food was good. Person at the front desk was nice. Our server was very nice but very ,very slow. I'm not sure she is a regular server. We waited a really long time for our meals and an even longer time for our check. Our server NEVER asked if our food was ok, if we needed another beverage, if we wanted to see a dessert menu or anything else; we barely saw her after the food order was placed. Very disappointing.
AND on top of that I got an email saying I wasn't getting my 100 points for my visit! HUH? Why not?
The service was excellent and the food was outstanding. We were very happy with our choice of dishes. May have to make another trip with some friends.
My husband requested to eat here for his 79th birthday. The food and service were excellent!! They even put a candle in his cannoli!
The food was good but not spectacular. The place was not crowded. The server was excellent. Good meal but not running back unless in the area
Great night. Good food, good friends, good service.
A consistent winner! There is great food here, both from the comfort food aspect and as to some daring new twists. The wait staff is great- pleasant and knowledgeable. Only negative is that the place is loud and sometimes you get placed in a tight dark corner depending on your table.
Food was delicious and service was excellent. Décor was a bit tired looking and can definitely benefit from some freshening up to enhance the ambiance, but overall was not a problem.
Excellent neighborhood restaurant good for a date or any special occasion. Very friendly and excellent service. Romantic decor. Highly recommend.
At Gemelli's, we had a great meal, terrific wine excellent service and an overall pleasant experience.
This is my wife's favorite place to eat. We only go about 4-5 times a year and never had a less than excellent experience.
Very good Appetizer and pasta selection.
For the dessert my husband found egg shells in his Zabaione and showed them to the waiter. No measures or apologies were taken. That was not customer friendly.
A part from this, it was overall a nice evening.
Sitting outside was a bad decision as the noise level from traffic was at times unbearable. A beautiful day and great food but our choice to dine outside wasn’t stellar.
As usual, food and service was excellent. Looking forward to al fresco dining soon.
Been here many times. Always a pleasure. Service is always good. Our waiter was incredibly friendly and perfectly attentive. Food was excellent.
Great dining experience from the service to the wine to the food!!
Wonderful, everything was great.
The service was great. The food was delicious and exactly what we ordered.
I would recommend a dining experience.
Excellent food and service
The food was absolutely delicious! Beyond delicious! The service was wonderful and the atmosphere was beautiful and very inviting.
I would absolutely come again! I highly recommend Gemelli's!!
One of my favorite restaurants in Babylon!!
Great restaurant. Delicious food!!
Excellent food and service. Would recommend this restaurant for s nice family dinner.
Terrific food and service in a nice atmosphere, great value for Restaurant Week.
A little disappointed with the food and service. The decor was nice
We always love Gemelli's, especially during restaurant week! It did not disappoint. This was a birthday dinner and all was good. The only criticism is that the food seemed a little too salty this time around. The Calamari appetizer was perfect and never chewy. The main dish was the grouper with the shrimp risotto and string beans. The seasonings were a little too salty for both me and my guest. The Chocolate lava cake did not disappoint.
Great food and drinks. Their waiters are very experienced and knowlegable. I go very frequently with my wife.
