The Geisha Steak and Sushi Restaurant in Plano, Texas serves up a variety of hot Japanese dishes from the kitchen as well as plenty of sushi delicacies. Whether you’re stopping in for one of the lunch time specialties or you’re preparing a big party to sit at one of the Geisha Steak and Sushi Restaurant’s private hibachi grills, you’ll be in a cozy place surrounded by good food.
The lunch menu comes with an assortment of appetizers like fried gyoza and tempura rolls as well as bento boxes and combination lunches. The dinner menu ups the Geisha Steak and Sushi Restaurant game with sushi boats and combo plates as well as dinner entrées like chicken or filet mignon teriyaki cooked on the hibachi for you to watch.
We always love Geisha! Food is always great and service is good too!
Our Chef was ok. Not a lot of show. They forgot our rice and one steak. Chef had to go back to kitchen and get it to start cooking. The food was fabulous and we usually have to-go boxes but not this time. But the portions did look way smaller than the last time we were there. I also think the workers (waiters/waitresses and bartenders) should wear a unifor and not their everyday clothes.
Great sushi without the gimmicky add ons and sauces. If you want good, regular sushi this is the place to go!
Family was in from out of state and never had experienced dinner this way! It was nice to share our favorite place!
We’ve been to Geisha several times. The food is always good. Service was slow this visit and our salads didn’t come out until the Hibachi chef was finished cooking and asked our server where the salads were.
It was very good.
We are new to the area and we’re looking for a good Japanese restaurant. We think found it.
Visiting with a long time friend and family.
Great food. Had a lot of challeng to get a seat even after the booking. Waited for an hour...
Great Atmosphere, food was terrific!!! Kids enjoy the experience and we enjoyed the food and wine! We will be back!
They shouldn't charged 18% of gratuity for group of 6 with very minimal service.
I had the filet Cooked rare, which was cooked perfectly. The downside was the mixed vegetables consisting of onions, broccoli, and carrots only.
Went to this restaurant after seeing several positive reviews on Yelp. Food was good, but service was disappointingly slow even with a reservation. Everything asked for, even water, took over 15 minutes for delivery. We arrived at 7:32 pm for a 7:30 reservation, sat at teppan-yaki table after 8pm, and finally finished paying the bill at close to 10:00pm -even paying the check took a long time. Teppan-yaki chef was good. Teppan-yaki food was good. Chairs were sticky. Carpet was sticky. Not coming back. Not recommending to others. Restaurant owners or whomever is responsible for profit and loss must remember this: food and gimmicks bring people in the first time, but service is what makes them repeat customers. Bartender was nice while we waited.
This place is always great and I don't understand why it is never more crowded. Highly recommeneddd
I took my parents here for a special occasion, and I couldn't be more satisfied. The food was delicious, and the service was amazing. For those who have never really had this kind of food before, I recommend the yellow tail. It's incredibly tender.
Nice place to go for a little show along with dining. The staff are nice and the food is good.
Friday night at 7:30 PM for hibachi. We were seated and drinks didn't arrive for 15 min, (water, coffee, 1 wine and 1 beer) so I went to the bar. It was MotherinLaw and grandson's 6th birthday. We didn't get order taken for 45 min. Food didn't arrive to start cooking for an hour after we were seated. Needless to say, kids were hungry. Chef was very young an lacked a little showism but still cute. My scallops were gritty, but I guess thats the way their supposed to be since it's been a while. Kids chicken was overcooked and I didn't hear the results of the other 1/2 of the table of filet mignon. Due to our long wait, I had to ask for a complimentary glass to make me happy since I went to the hostess 3 times to see what was taking so long. She said she had to ask her manager if it was okay. Hmmm, seriously? We come here a lot and won't for a while. They should have compt more than that for this less than satisfying experience. There was a mediocre happy birthday song - kina lame. The bill was over $150 and my husband is an over tipper as always - God love him for that b/c I wouldn't have.
The food was good, once we got all that we ordered. The cook did not properly anticipate cooking what was ordered. By the time we received the chicken the rest of our food was cold. The floor had some sort of substance that was wet and sticky. When we told management about it, they didn't really seem to care. Our shoes stuck to the carpet. Maybe I'd revisit this restaurant but maybe not. There are other hibachi-type restaurants that were better and will probably receive my business.
Food and all else was great, waitress was not attentive, we bought drinks and tea, water, but was not attentive to filling our water glasses. We also had one person ask for white rice, we had to remind 3 times to get our rice. We did complain and did receive a discount, which is nice, but we did not come to get a discount. Overall, everything was great.
Food was good. Cook was very entertaining. Waiter forgot alot of things. Prices were ok but they shouldn't charge extra for so many things
We love Geisha every time!!!! Food cooked to perfection!
Everything was great except for the water. It had such an odd taste that I felt I needed to mention it in a review.
Going to a hibachi grill is a tradition with the group I was traveling with last week. We had several to choose from and I am glad we choose Geisha. The Yum Yum sauce was like nothing I have ever had and it was very good. Ignore the reviews on some of the lesser sites and check this place out on open table. You will enjoy it!
The hosts and wait staff are young and inexperienced. I had to wait even though I made a reservation and went by in person during the day to make sure nothing would go wrong (it was Valentine's Day). The manager I met was friendly. When we arrived, there was a wait and a bit of confusion in the seating of parties. I kindly reminded them that I had a reservation and asked to speak to the manager. Once again, he was friendly and seated us immediately. The waitress did not know how to open champagne, so that was an amusing pre-show. The chef was entertaining and the food was good. It's not a bad place, it's just not for me.
Had a 7:15pm reservation and was not seated until 8:40. Service was rushed to non-existent; it's a shame as we were looking for an alternative to Benihana/Kobe for birthdays. Will not return.
the restaurant couldnt access their computers so no record of our reservation. Short on wait staff and slow to bring drinks, etc There arent many choices in my area for hibachi, but I probably wont go back there. It's a pricey meal for bad service and lost reservations. Only good thing to say is that it really impresses kids to see the chef cooking right in front of them.
Went based off of previous (much earlier) reviews. When we got there they told us that they do not usually check OpenTable. No big deal - they seated us easily as we were there early.
Food - not that bad, but not great either. The menus were cracked with many of the alcoholic items that were not available crossed out with a marker?? The Hibachi areas were VERY dirty and not worthy of the prices charged. Overall experience not bad but they need to put in some work to clean up the place, fix menus and make the experience better.
We arrived with a reservation at 7:30. They asked if we made it online or through Open Table. When we said Open Table the hostess said that they don't usually get those reservations. We sat in the bar for 30 minutes while other people were seated that arrived after us.
If they don't receive Open Table reservations they shouldn't be on Open Table. They didn't seem to have a lot of tables to seat people at. Atmosphere wasn't great either. Would not go back even if I made an online reservation on their site. Manager let us walk out with a "sorry guys" and that was it.
No one seemed to be happy they were working. No smiles! The guy cooking the food was so boring and never made anyone at the table laugh. Hibachi is about fun and great food. Got neither of those. Not sure I would go back.
Terrible, disappointing, experience. We had a 7:30 reservation, we were asked to wait in bar area. We had no service for drinks etc while waiting; husband finally went to bar and got something himself. It was our daughters birthday and we had 6 in our party. Waited 1 hour 20 min before we were approached with apologies; they said we had free appetizers coming for our wait. 10 more minutes passed, no appetizers no table, we got up and left. We will never go back. We saw 3 people serving the entire restaurant. Our worst Open Table experience ever!
We had reservations at 7:45 for 4 people. Of course, we were sitting with another party; however, we were not seated until after 8:00. We asked one of the employees how much longer we were going to have to wait since we were disappointed, and he apologized and offered a free appetizer. The food was absolutely amazing. The service prior to being seated was okay, not great. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.
A great place to go for a fun evening. Prices are very reasonable. Service is great.
Food was great. Service was kinda slow. A lot of annoying people there watching the cowboys game.
The food was awesome. We had a bit of a wait, but it was worth it when the food was ready
If you've ever been to Benihana, then you know exactly what the hibachi side is like. You'll have a chef that'll do various tricks (I won't spoil the surprise!) and is very reasonably priced vs. a place like Benihana.
If you don't want a hibachi meal, they have a restaurant side with sushi bar which is great as well so pretty much if you're in the mood for Japanese you have both sides covered.
Took grandkids to experience hibachi cooking--they were impressed and didn't even order hamburger and French fries. Have been here before but food seemed better tonite--sushi was really good
Enjoyed our dinner here. We were able to have both sushi and hibachi at a regular dining table. My husband has some sort of tuna appetizer that came in a big martini glass with ice and the ice continued to change colors with a magic light inside. Quite pretty. The salad dressing was good. The sauces were good. All of the food was tasty. Compared to other Japanese restaurants we have been to before, this ranks near the top.
It was good on average but would not drive a long distance to go there when we have places closer to home., that are actually better. I would say it was worth a try if you live near bye.
All was great we go there a lot and everyone is great and we really enjoy our visit there
