Geisha A GO GO
Great food and drinks, with a great atmosphere! Happy hour is a must!
I wish I could give 0 stars. Made reservation, arrived and seated early but no service thereafter for 35 minutes, so we left. One star given because I can't leave a review without doing so. I wish I had checked yelp reviews prior to choosing this place as poor service is a common complaint.
What a fun place, great atmosphere and awesome location
Geisha has the best happy hour deals in the valley. Been going for years, and will continue do so! Service is always just okay, but everyone is friendly and the prices are amazing!
The food is amazing here and they have a Great Happy Hour!
When we arrived here, we were greeted by the nicest hostess and staff. We sat on the Patio where the ambiance was awesome. There was a lot of busyness around us which made it a lot of fun. There was music playing in the lounge area and everyone was having a blast. Our waitress did a Great job of explaining that it was Sunday all day Happy Hour and food discounts. We tried 3 or 4 types of Shushi, Tempura Vegetables, Chicken Skewers, Gyzo and a few other items all prepared perfectly. They have a fantastic drink menu which the ladies enjoyed. This was a fun night out surrounded by a fun atmosphere and good food.
I love the ambiance of this restaurant...the pictures of Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix at the bar are the conversation piece of this entire restaurant. The sushi is just okay.
thought the food was average and nothing special. Service was good until it came time to pay the bill. The bill was dropped off and our waitress went to serve a large party that had just arrived. After 15 minutes I called over another server to process the bill. Decent night basically went downhill at that point. With the abundance of fine restaurants in Scottsdale--unlikely that we will return. Even though we had reservations--we were told we would have to wait---even though virtually every table was open.
This is by far THE best Sushi I have ever had in my life. The only thing the world can do is wait for them to rock the Sushi scene to its core. It was so good, I ordered to go, I stuffed myself, we ate until we had to readjust our belts.
Food was good. Menu was interesting and extensive (for sushi). Service was totally mediocre (almost poor). We will return and cross our fingers for a more attentive server!
I was in Scottsdale on business and found Gheisha A Go Go in a travel guide. Much to my surprise it was cool place and not a tourist trap. The Pikachu cocktail and Racer X roll are must try. I was a bit disappointed that the Hello Kitty cocktail was not very exciting. I ordered it simply becuase it was called the Hello Kitty :-) This is a great happy hour spot with half price drinks and appetizers. I went two days in a row and the service is hit or miss. One day it's great, the next so so but this servers are pretty enough to be forgiven I guess. At anyrate, definately check this place out when in Scottsdale. Wish there was one in or near DC.
a really great place. i wish i'd heard of it much sooner!
Excellent choice for sushi! Try the dragon balls, they were awesome! Small, intimate dining room. Great outdoor seating. Don't go if you want quiet. The music is pretty loud,
Price is good during the happy hours, the food is so-so. The only worth try is the BBQ pork.
I love the mood and food. Geisha A Go Go is definitely my new sushi place.
Food is fabulous... the specialty rolls are generous in size... menu has great description of everything. The fried rice was a winner with everyone in our group of 7.
Decor is modern and eclectic...pop culture with a Japanese twist. Good DJ music mix.
I have to come back soon for Ramen noodles...so many I want to try... Sake and Sho-Chu...but definitely during HAPPY HOUR next time! =D
Geisha is awesome! I love it on Sundays because there is happy hour all day. My favs are the teriyaki ribs, rock shrimp tempura and the j pop roll. Great environment, service is quick and very social. Great upbeat music as well. Super fun and extremely reasonable.
The best thing about Geisha a Go Go is the half price menu all day on Sundays! All of their appetizers are half price, and that alone will feed every appetite and craving since it is not just sushi. My suggestion: try the chicken fried rice mixed with the chicken from the lettuce wraps - delish!
Food is out of this world ... service is 5 stars... prices are awesome what can I tell you this is WIN-WIN situation
Service was outstanding. Food was outstanding. Whole experience was top notch. We will be back !!!
Happy hour deals are amazing - can't believe it took Restaurant Week to get me into this restaurant. I will definitely be back!!
I was greeted the moment I walked through the door by the hostess and manager. Then seated right away and greeted by the server. Our server was the best. She had some great suggestions on food and drink options. My food came out super fast, hot, and fresh. I can not find one thing to complain about. I was happy along with the tables around me. Great service for a Friday night. I am impressed.
Geisha continues to be a great place to dine. The only compliant I have is the booth table height in the rear of the dine area. They do look attractive at their current height but does not make for comfortable eating or drinking. If they were raised a few inches the dining experience would much easier to enjoy. Overall still a great place!
We had a reservation for six, but were seated uncomfortably.
Enjoyed this place very much! GREAT fortune cookie fortunes LOL!
This was our second time at Geisha a Go Go, and we really love the place. The manager, Gil, came over to our table and we a made a point to inform him that we made our reservations through Open Table and that we would be giving them a great review. Masterful sushi, and great atmosphere. A must in Scottsdale, AZ.
An interesting restaurant form the drinks through to the decor. friendly staff, great selection of appetizers and entrees. Best of all, they have a long happy hour every day of the week from 4 - 7 pm. Saw some people going into the private karaoke rooms, did not try that this time!
Really nice place for cocktails and appetizers. Our favorite was the Tempura Rock Shrimp! Ribs were tasty too!
My girlfriends and I loved this place! We came for happy hour on a Saturday evening, and ended up renting one of the private karaoke rooms, which is also half price during happy hour and comes with a free platter of sushi. The sushi was good, and the appetizers were decent (chicken lettuce cups, chicken wings, rock shrimp tempura) -- and the happy hour prices are a bargain. We had so much fun that we came back the next day since happy hour is all day on Sunday. Service was excellent; from the friendly hostess who went out of her way to help us as well as our server who checked on us frequently to make sure we had enough food and drinks. Bar was pretty crowded on both nights too. I highly recommend checking this place out for a fun time.
This was a great small eclectic resto-bar. It's a funky mix of a sushi bar and a rock bar... good selection of creative Maki, sushi, and Sake, and good music. The portions are large and are a good deal for the $!
Fun place to be at happy hour!
My girlfriend loves the drinks and shrimp tempura, woohoo!
Its just difficult to find parking, we had to drive around just to find one that's close by.
Too many valet lots and not enough parking for those of us that just wanna chill.
Had a great time at Geisha A GO GO...take advantage of the happy hour if you can...it was excellent!
We went during Happy Hour and had a great time, the food was fantastic and a great price
It has more of a college bar feel than Hip Tokyo sushi bistro. I could see where it could be fun possibly as a club sort of venue with friends on a very crowded friday night. But, it's marketed as a hip sushi bistro and didn't really deliver.
The night was light with customers, only a few tables, yet, they struggled to keep glasses full and service the table.
Food was ok. The bento box teppan was disappointing, small, and over priced. The sushi rolls were ok. The drinks were good. Oddly I think the place is owned by the same folks that own Stingray, yet Stingray is a major stepup over Geisha
Ordered eight appetizers and sushi picks during happy hour, and each was better than the last! The price of all an absolute bargain. Servers and staff very friendly, and definately a hot spot in downtown Scottsdale. Will make this one of our favorites when going back to Phoenix area.
Great food, excellent happy hour specials. Some of the best sushi we've had in Arizona, even if one of the rolls (Frightened Geisha) was way too spicy for my taste. We'll definitely go back :-)
The wait staff, meal, ambiance and the crowd were phenomenal. There was an equal distribution and cross section of age, gender/genderbender, ethnicity and culture.
I was thorougly impress with everything about Geisha a Go Go, short of the bar-tender that helped us. He was pushy when it came to being paid and waited on others in the middle of making drinks for my group. That made it a bit awkward for getting back to the group. The drinks came one by one and then a pause, etc...
The other challenge was he said there was no way to connect our bar tab with the meal. So we had two charges while there..
Very energetic! It is very loud, but the food was great! The people watching was also a lot of fun and there was a very young crowd.
As always the food is awesome. They had new servers, so the food took longer than usual, which is expected during a busy dinner hour. Thanks to the owner for picking up our bill:)
love the kareoke and lively bar. always a good time!
This place was AWESOME! Happy hour specials are rediculously cheap and the sushi was very good. We are big sushi eaters, so we know our sushi...and this place exceeded our expectations. The scene was very young and lively, but not too trendy or stuck up like some sushi places can be. I wish we lived in Scottsdale so I can go there every week!
