Gavi is local gem with consistently good food and attentive and reliable service. We sat on their patio which gets unobstructed sunlight throughout the day (shade umbrellas are available!). We had a Caprese appetizer, two excellent Arugula salads with shrimp and an order of Gnocchi. All were fresh and well seasoned. We also enjoyed two cocktails, expertly made and two glasses of wine. Sue took excellent care of us.
Great Mother’s Day brunch. We had a lovely outdoor table. Food was good and service was excellent.
Thank you so much for coming!
Great food and service! Will definitively be back!
Overall passable but unimpressive. The service was spotty at times. Started with calamari and burrata special. Calamari was lightly battered and tasty. Burrata special totally uninspired - basically cheese with tomato and arugula. No seasoning and no balsamic or oil. We had gnocchi with vodka sauce, double veal chop and scallopini di Gavi. The gnocchi was so al dente as to almost be inedible. The veal chop was a nice piece of meat which was cooked well to order but it came with three potato halves and a small portion of broccoli rabe. The whole plate lacked pizzaz and not a lick of seasoning anywhere. Not even salt or pepper which was also not on the table. It’s as if they grilled the meat with no seasoning whatsoever and put it on the plate. Nothing on the vegetables either. The veal di Gavi was tasty but also lacked any real seasoning especially on the vegetables which were similarly unexciting. Also the Marsala sauce seemed off in terms of taste. Not like a traditional Marsala. Overall not a horrible meal but quite frankly the place was packed and I am not sure what folks see in it. There is way better Italian in the area at or less than the price point here.
I hosted three other people for dinner last Sat night. Only when I asked for the check did the waiter inform me -- in front of my guests -- that if I paid by credit card the restaurant would add 4% to the check to cover the credit card fee he said the restaurant is charged by the credit card company. He said if I paid cash for the check and the tip, I would only be charged the amount of the check and they wouldn't add an additional 4% for the tip. He said "all the restaurants we doing it." Not only is that not true, but the waiter had no issue opening an extra bottle of Peligrino water on the table near the end of the meal that no one asked for or drank from. If this is the restaurant's policy, it needs to be crystal clear upfront -- when the reservation is made. This was slimy and tainted the experience. Be wary.
I enjoyed the Tri-color salad with grilled chicken and it was so delicious! My friends had the pork chop with peppers and they loved it! My other friends had pasta dinners and enjoyed them. We sat outside and the heaters were on so it was warm and cozy. The service was excellent. We missed seeing the owner-Frank.
Awesome prompt service, and the veal was so tender!
We have been eating at Gavi almost on a weekly basis for years we have never had a bad meal yet always excellent!!!
we did take out during Covid and everything came
We order different things often and they also usually will make you a meal that you my want that is not on the menu
Fernando is wonderful!!!

He waits on a table a lot and always want him to
Loved the Branzino oregenata! So deliciuos and the friendliest staff ever!
Gavi is the best Italian restaurant in Westchester! The food is amazing and the staff is very attentive and friendly!
Love the ambiance and the food was amazing! Great service!
Food was fantastic. Good price.
We enjoyed an antipasti dish. I loved my Tri Colore salad with grilled chicken and extra fennel...so delicious and healthy! My friends loved their pasta dishes. My family member loved the pork chops with sweet peppers. Excellent service and warm ambiance. The owner Frank is so wonderful and nice to all his customers!
Great service and excellent food.
Possible to “order off the menu”.
A neighborhood gem.
The meals are always good along with the service. It is our go to place.
Our party of 2 people all enjoyed our lovely dinner! I had the Tri-colored salad with grilled chicken with extra fennel and it was so delicious. My friend enjoyed a pasta dish and she thought it was so great! We sat inside and felt comfortable and safe. Excellent service!
Always a great experience - wonderful food and service - bartender is always enjoyable for my wife and I to chat with - we truly love the place
Always a pleasurable evening at Gavi! Food Excellent as well as service
Another fabulous dining experience at Gavi. Consistent Delicious meals and attentive waitstaff. Frank and his staff have gone above and beyond to make sure that all CDC guidelines are being followed for safe dining inside and out. The outdoor dining is a beautiful setting and has plenty of heaters for warmth and comfort! A long-time neighborhood staple.
Food and service was great. We will definitely return.
Gavi was the last restaurant we went out to before the world shut down last year and we were thrilled to return a year later to celebrate my son’s 20th birthday. The food is always delicious and the service friendly yet professional. They even came out with a special dessert and sang happy birthday. Tables are well spaced and COVID precautions followed. I hope more people return to eating out soon to support them.
Food was delicious.
The best authentic Italian restaurant in westchester, the food and service are top notch.
Authentic Italian cuisine. The chicken scarp is to die for. My Friday spot.
I had the chicken martini, even though its not on the menu. They are very accommodating. I love that they are very covid conscious, with plexiglass partitions at the bar. Cheers!
One of the best Italian restaurants in westchestet
Had a lovely meal and evening...
Impossible to have a conversation when the restaurant is full. Inadequate sound insulation on walls, ceiling and floors. Otherwise, the food was quite good.
My go-to restaurant!!
Perfect service, staff was so friendly and food was delicious... perfect to celebrate birthdays!!
Service was gentle, quiet place and excellent food, from appetizers to deserts, homemade tiramisu is the best that I never taste... authentic Italian experience.
Food was not food. It did not seem fresh..Eggplant rollatini was cold in middle and very dry. The Parpadelle with Wild Boar and very little boar meat. The chicken in the chicken scarpiello was dry and over cooked, may have been rehaeated. The tiramisu was awful. It was basically lady fingers and whipped cream...this was a bad experience..would not go back or recommend.
Overall disappointing! It had been recommended by friends and was expecting something quite different. The dining room was loud, not well decorated and the service was well intended but inefficient. The food was either over flavored (Gorgonzola sauce on rollatini over powered) or under- (chicken parmigiana stuffed ravioli special had virtually no chicken) and butter was foil wrapped! For a $50+ meal, I won’t be returning.
Very good food and the service was great
Would definitely go back and also recommend it to friends and family
Love place been there 3 times always good from appetizers to dessert
Gavi continues to be an excelled classic "old school" Italian restaurant. The senior wait staff comes straight from Italy with accents that only add to the authenticity. Wherever we went on the menu, everything our group ordered was excellent. Salads, special appetizers, were great. Service was extremely attentive, fresh bread and creamy butter, water glasses constantly be re-filled, was all in the background, trying no to interfere with the evening's conversation. Special seafood dishes were ordered and the consensus was that it exceeded expectations.
We got in our car to drive home and we looked at each other and said "Wow, what a great evening".
Always can count on Gavi for an exceptional meal
Very good food and very attentive wait staff. We were all very happy overall.
