   The host(owner?) who greeted us was all business- no hello, no smile at all. He sat us in the back corner (we were a table of 5 with a reservation). After that we were ignored (no eye contact even as I tried to subtly get attention to at least get water and a bottle of wine) for at least 30 minutes. At first we didn’t mind since we were looking at the menu but then even the water was not poured when they refilled water glasses at the surrounding tables…..Finally our waiter came over. He was very nice and from there on out it was all good. The kitchen is slow but we were not in a rush and the food was tasty. Especially the pasta with shrimp and zucchini in a lobster broth. The prices are on the high side but food was good. I’ll try someplace else before I go back due to how unwelcome we felt while being ignored. The waiter did try to make up for it though so I gave him some credit (and a very nice tip ) for that.

    This was our first time at Gavi. The food was excellent. The prices are reasonable. The service was very good. It is was very loud. It was Saturday night and the restaurant was full. Will return.

    We had a wonderful family dinner at Gavi! Our server Joe recommended the specials and they did not disappoint. Also, he was so upbeat and pleasant -- it really enhanced the dining experience! We will be back.

    One of the most unpleasant dining experiences we've had in recent memory. Two large groups of diners occupied at least half of this rather small restaurant. The bigger group of about 20 sat around a sizeable rectangular table and literally yelled at one another across the table. The noise level was absolutely deafening, even worse than many rock concerts I've attended. They clearly had no respect for other patrons in the restaurant. Our mistake was not to follow our initial instinct to leave for another restaurant as soon as we sat down. To make matters worse, a ceiling light over our table kept blinking throughout our meal. Although the calamari appetizer was good, our entrees were mediocre. The desert menu looked interesting, but there was no way we were staying any longer. We did have a pleasant server, who had arrived from Italy only three days before so communication with him was a bit difficult. Perhaps when the restaurant isn't preoccupied with large groups, a decent meal can be had, but we'll never know. (Incidentally, my hearing wasn't back to normal until the next morning).

    We really enjoyed Gavi. As we had never been to Gavi it was a pleasant experience. We were the noisiest customers but had a table far away from any other diner. The food was lovely and we loved meeting our good friends at a convenient destination. Thank you.

    There were four of us. Everyone seemed satisfied with their meal choice. The veal was delicious and tender. Our waiter was pleasant and checked back in a timely manner while we waited for our fourth diner -who had been detained- to arrive. You don’t leave there hungry that’s for sure. The wine was served and the generous pour kept everyone happy!

    Open table did not seem to be recognized as part if the reservation. There was not a table for four as requested. Extremely loud had to sit us in bar with no apologies. Will not return.

    We introduced Gavi to friends who had to travel half hour and they were delighted and will return! The kitchen was able to meet the needs of a GF guest by providing an eggplant dish. We were all very pleased with the food and love eating on the patio with its relaxed, quiet atmosphere. Y

    The noise level was not great. There was a large group and they were yelling over each other. The service was very good. Nice wait staff. Food was flavorful. Portions were normal. Not too large to take home left overs. The decor is dated and a bit shabby. Needs a facelift.
