With our panoramic glass-paneled exterior we have glorious 360-degree views of Richmond Bridge and Petersham Meadows from our well-dressed dining-room and bar. An idyllic location for those long weekend lunches after a dog-walk in Richmond Park or for gathering the family and friends to celebrate those special occasions.
So, when you next take a stroll along the towpath, join us for an unforgettable steak, sampling our superb Argentinian beef and British seafood, or relax at the bar with a glass of wine and watch the boats sail by.
Good lunch spot by the river in Richmond- fab in the Sun, dog friendly & their lunch set menu is great value- but if the best steak is what you’re after it’s still not quite as tasty as Hawksmoor- but who wants to be stuck inside a Hawksmoor on a sunny day!
Too much noise, service very slow
Good location eager service (that strangely can be slow) food was nice but not great.
Nothing terrible but given he location and cost could have been a bit better. Staff seemed a little over run.
Great setting, beautiful outside if the weather permits. The set course lunch is well worth it and did not disappoint. Would recommend and will be back for sure!
Lovely staff. Great food and location for lunch on the Thames.
Cracking time, really enjoyed the time spent with my wife at the restaurant. We will be back
We booked Gaucho's for our anniversary meal and was not disappointed. The meal was superb and the staff and service was excellent.
1st time at Gauchos. Great reception and service. My steak was burnt on one side but overall ok. Wine superb. We had a great meal. A bit pricey but you know that’s what it is. So a special treat.
Great views of Richmond and the river.
Service was wonderful and food was fabulous.
Decor is tired and it would be great to sit outside without the fear of bird poo from gorgeous huge tree :)
Lovely position with view of the river. Delicious food and the set menus is very good value. I would recommend.
Service and food was excellent, a friendly welcome on arrival and a enjoyable experience throughout. The staff could not be more helpful and are very knowledgable on the menus and ingredients. There is a very good range of wines and beverages we sampled a cocktail or two which were also well made. Very well done Gaucho’s we will definitely be back.
Service was very good but then it should be at this price.
Really good food, great environment. Also recommend the cocktails.
Excellent food and brilliant service first time customer .. already planning our next visit
Was very disappointed with organisation. Called in advance to have an extra person added to our table, going from 2 to 3. They said they were fully booked. Within 15 minutes of being seated there was over 5 tables that were empty (over 30seats) and 1 whole table for 6 which was free the whole time we was there up until just before we left. Which time was taken out my sitting to speak to manager about this who didn't have an excuse but advice on how to jump the system in future. Ridiculous. Food was good and Laurence was amazing.
Lovely afternoon and great lunch to celebrate Mother’s Day
Nice table, attentive staff and to die for food
What more could you ask for?
Excellent food and outstanding service. Will definitely keep coming to this place
The location is great right on the river and no cars around as located on the Richmond Towpath. The meat was absolutely succulent and perfectly cooked. The best meat outside of Brazil and Argentina. Service was very attentive and excellent without being intrusive. Just right. The selection of wines is amazing. Will definitely recommend and return. Thank you.
Lovely Mother’s Day lunch. Steaks as always perfect and service is good. Pricey but for a special occasion it is special.
We have dined several times at Gaucho Richmond. This was not a good experience at all this time, and I am not sure we will return.
The wine we ordered was not available.
My one son ordered chicken, we were told that the restaurant had run out of chicken.
I ordered a Rib Eye rare, it came medium well. When I asked for it to be taken back, the waitress came back with the same steak and told me that it was rare! Eventually I got a new steak, but by this time my family had finished their meal.
My second son ordered an adults burger and complained that it was too dry.
Overall, it was a terrible experience.
My husband and myself are frequent clients of Gaucho Richmond, and we re always delighted by the excellent service and food quality. However our last visit to Gaucho had some shadows that we very much hope are addressed by the restaurant :
1. We learned that menu was recently changed. 2 of the wines on the new menu were not in stock, not a big deal since we got a third option similar to our choice and the recommendation and the good was good.
2. We ordered the Gaucho plater sample (this is a dish that we always order, it has a sample of all the meat cuts). The portions were notoriously smaller, and we requested medium rare, however the food come well done.
3. The side dishes were notoriosuly smaller than usual and it was too late to order more portions to receive them on time.
4. The service was particularly slow, it took 30-40 minutes before we actually got served the wine and bread.
We love Gauchos but changing the chimichurri is so wrong. It tastes horrible now. It can only be from a cost perspective, because everyone we know loved it.
You have changed the menu so much already (& not for the better), please don’t mess with the chimichurri, and the chimichurri butter was like something I would have concocted, don’t eat it!
Saying that, the staff are above and beyond. Every single time it’s a special dinning experience because of them. Thank you.
Steak was excellent, but the portion of spinach for £5 was ludicrous, as was paying £3 extra for sources. The noise level was such that it was difficult to hear what was being said, and for that reason I probably wouldn't return.
Excellent atmosphere and food! Definitely going back!!!
We arrived only to find we couldn’t get parked within mile of place which is my own fault not theirs.
On arrival friendly welcome. Sat down got menus and was attended to. Ordered food. Long wait for starter, even longer for main but we both ordered well done steaks. My wife ordered rib eye which was 300 grams I ordered sirloin which was 225grams about an hour later the steaks arrived. My wife’s looked like it had been cooked on a barbecue for far too long. It was burnt to a cinder, and mine was raw in middle. We complained and staff were very attentive and offered us another so we agreed. The steaks when they came back we’re beautiful just right. Chips were lovely too ( but would be nice to have a bit of salad with steak) you can only choose salad or chips on groupon voucher. Salad just rocket watercress no tomatoes or anything to give it taste. The manager was great though I must say and the lady who served us. But it was just unfortunate that the meal wasn’t cooked properly in the first instance. We were there 3 hours for a meal which should have only been 1 - 1 1/2 hrs.
I still would recommend the place tho it’s a beautiful setting and it was only the chef who spoiled the food first time round
Amazing afternoon by the river side, hosted by Stefano and Maria. Couldn’t ask for more.
I had high hopes of a top Sunday lunch experience but my 2 guests and I were disappointed. After a good start the service deteriorated and the food was poor value for money - for example I complained 3 times about the inedible potatoes with the roast and was ignored each time. The best part of the meal was the wine, but we can drink good Malbec at home too.
Best steak, but is pricey. Waiter was very friendly and help with the wine choice.
Food and service was of the highest standard.
Extensive wine list can be very pricey but there are some reasonably priced gems in there if you.....Don David Malbec being one.
The evening went well, thank you.
Been here several times, the food is always what you expect and the service is brilliant, friendly and attentive.
The location is perfect and staff very friendly but unfortunately there were a couple of issues on the day:
1) the white chairs are rather slippery to sit on (and not so white)
2) half of the Picana steak I had was beautifully tender but the other half was so tough to cut that I ended up leaving it
3) the coffee machine gave up working
Usually Goucho is reliable so I am not sure what went wrong on Sunday.
Lovely staff and setting sat in the bar area because we was early nothing too much trouble ... lovely cocktails and excellent fillet steaks ... the fish starters were very light and very good ... yellow tail and tuna recommended
Lovely staff they were amazing and food delish , if only a little bit pricy but the food was worth it
Thank you so much to the team at Gaucho Richmond. From the moment we walked through the doors, to the moment we left, we were treated so well by everyone!
The food was superb, and was served so quickly - yet we didn't feel rushed in the slightest, and they were more than happy to let us sit and finish our drinks at the end of the meal rather than rushing us out.
Thank you so much Francesca, and everyone, you made our 3rd Anniversary absolutely lovely.
Great atmosphere pre rugby on a Saturday afternoon. Always shocked at the bill here though - quote overpriced but v good food.
For the money it wasn’t worth it. The service was rushed and the food wasn’t cooked as ordered.
Good food and great staff - knew a lot about the menu!
Slightly noisy if you wanted a peaceful meal
Delicious flavour from Argentinian steaks! Loved the set menu!
It was a great time. Maria was a great server and the steaks were very tasty.
