Gato
GATO is owned by Bobby Flay and Laurence Kretchmer who previously owned the Spanish restaurant, BOLO, together for 15 years. BOLO met an unfortunate demise when its building was torn down to make way for a new development. The partners vowed to revive the spirit of BOLO. They are thrilled to launch GATO as its next renewal.
What Insiders Are Saying
Gato will remind you why Bobby Flay became famous in the first place - because he can cook.
Excellent service and wonderful food. Loved every minute of our dinner. Our server Cory was attentive and very kind. Loved all the bar bites and Foccacia bread. The Pizza and squid ink pasta and charred beef was delicious too. The chef was very kind and made dietary changes for us.
Great food, good vibes, a bit pricey but worth the experience.
loved this restaurant , loved the food ! so flavorful
make sure to know you need a bunch of options b/c portions are small
went with 3 people for lunch & it was perfect amount to order the lunch special for 28.00
great tastings!
The food was amazing at Gato! We had a group of 4 and decided to share everything. Hands down the octopus was our favorite!!
I was so excited to try Gato for the first time and bring along some colleagues with me. We had a wonderful time. Ordered the baked cheese and mushroom flatbread for appetizers along with some wine that was recommended by our awesome waiter. I had the Kale and Wild Mushroom Paella and it was divine. I loved everything from the service to the decor and ambiance. It was a wonderful experience and everyone in my group was more than satisfied.
Great décor and location. Interesting menu. Wait staff good. We ordered the charred steak and the black ink pasta - both delicious. Disappointed in bar staff - Bartender could not be bothered to engage or offer us suggestions... and only 3 other couples at the large bar at the time.
It was the best restaurant I have ever been to. Never tasted food so flavorful.
Exceeding our expectations! Sensational 😻
Cory Rawli was amazing! Professional, knew the menu extensively. His descriptions made the food exciting! We wanted to try it!!!!
We will definitely return on our next visit to NYC!

Bobby Flay does not disappoint on TV, and he doesn't in real life either! Ordered brussels sprouts (flavor great - but too heavily marinated) and rabbit (delicious, and got better with each bite). Dessert (bread pudding) was one of the best desserts I've had in my life. Good sherry selection.
AMAZING , all the elements, location, services, food, and personnel outstanding.
Will be back soon.
We had an excellent meal there was three of us each one of us got something different and everything was wonderful the service was extremely good I would highly recommend this restaurant
The size of the plates were very small so you better plan on ordering a lot of courses and pay a lot for it.
The ziti dish I had works out to be 1.25 per ziti but a great taste!
Service was too slow. Had reservation at 8pm and food didn't come out until 9:30pm
I always love to visit Gato. Beautiful yet casual setting. Service is friendly and attentive. And the food is delish.
We liked the ambiance and feel of the restaurant. Friendly and attentive wait staff. We sampled 3 of the small plates as our appetizer - the Eleven layer potato, the Piquillo filled with tuna, and the Eggplant - all excellent. The Kale and Mushroom Paella entree was so delicious as was the Tortiglioni. We're already looking forward to going back. Would order the same things again, but will be tempted to try other dishes. Loved it!
Fabulous food and service.
The Burger was epic
Enjoyed it very much. As a chef myself, I appreciated the menu, service and ambiance.
The experience is everything you would expect from Bobby Flay. The food, staff and ambiance were perfect. We will be back.
Tranquil and private with a romantic setting
Excellent food, staff, and atmosphere. The food was very good, lots of delicious favors. Great wine list. My wife and I went there for an anniversary dinner and the staff could not been more gracious and accommodating.
Everything and more! Best meal I’ve ever had, this was a dream of a dinner. Incredible service from the moment you step in and amazing flavor all around.
Fantastic food and variety of tastes. Would definitely go back. Some of the portions are small.
Too dark, could barely read the menu. Wife ordered halibut over couscous but it showed up in broth and no couscous. I had a pork chop that was excellent. Service was good but not great, I tried several times to get a waiter but they seemed to be avoiding eye contact. I won’t be going back even though the food was good, at $100 per person I expect everything to be perfect.
The food on the menu was unexpected, certainly out of the usual. However, every dish that we tried was excellent - flavor combinations worked very well together. I would definitely visit this restaurant again and bring other friends.
Amazing food. Memorable experience!
The appetizer was below average, the little octopus piece in the middle of the dish was 1/3 burnt, and the fried oyster was cold and soggy. The timeliness was very off - it took forever to get the next dish. We had ordered sparkling water and were not finished with it, but the waiters went on and kept pouring flat tap water in our cups. For one of our main dishes, the linguine pasta, there was a chunk of noodles that were stuck together in a big lump. For over $125 per person Valetine’s Day dinner, we were highly disappointed in the overall experience. Felt like our money went to waste. I do not recommend this restaurant.
Valentines
Outstanding food prepared with care and imagination.
We had an appetizer consiting of three small dishes, each of outstanding taste and some surprising ingredients. The rest was also really well done.
Wine by the glass has somewhat limited choices available.
Service was very attentive.
We were there on Valentine's day with a prix fix menu.
It was not cheap, but quite worth it.
I’ve been to three of Bobby Flays restaurants and I’ve never left the place disappointed. The food is always great.
From start to finish the service and food was outstanding! I would give 10 stars if I could.
We must have gone on a bad night. We read some great reviews about the place and we are fans of Bobby's TV shows but on this Monday he was NOT in the kitchen. That appears to have been the reason for the strangely slow service we received all night. It started right at the front door and cascaded through the wait staff and the food prep. Once we finally got our dinner, the food was good although the pork chop wasnt as juicy as it should have been. As I said, maybe just a bad night for them but its likely the only time we will ever eat there based on this. side note ... paella at that price and its just vegetarian?!
Food is ok; far poor as compared with classic Spanish food. The octopus is over cooked; shrimp is not fresh. I think that cooking team needs a better training in Spain!
This is one of my family's favorite restaurants. Food a great! Service was lacking this visit, not the servers problem they were very understaffed, Although, a manager eventually came over to apologize and comp our desserts, which was nice touch. But, I'd rather have had the service up to its usual level which compliments its great food! We will be back and hope that the service issue will be rectified by Bobby and senior management team,
The food was delicious if the portions a bit small for the price. The service was very poor and slow. We had multiple waitresses for our table and always had to track them down to follow up on an order or something we were missing. The staff seemed overwhelmed.
Server and manager couldn't have been more welcoming and efficient. Food excellent. My husband had to be prevented from licking the bowl which contained the tiramisu bread pudding
We had a lovely, relaxing Sunday Brunch. We statrted off with their appetizer plate followed by baked eggs with chorizo and the French toast. The French toast was particularly delicious. Our waiter was excellent — attentive and charming. The room was well designed and lent itself to a cozy dining experience. We will definitely come back for another meal.
Our server was excellent; he was very professional. We asked to be seated at a circular booth. It was not very crowded and we were told the only place we could sit was in the back with a banquette and two chairs; there were three of us. We were practically on top of the people on either side of us. The restaurant wasn't crowded.
The food did not meet our expectations. We are in the hospitality business. One of us is a professional chef in the industry for 35 years and I am a F the chicken salad and beef entree are both too small. The burger ordered by our twenty something was very good.
The dessert was very good, the bread pudding.
Went for brunch. Atmosphere is really nice. The bar area is gorgeous. Service was extremely attentive, and very good. Food was excellent, best food we had on our entire New York trip. Cocktails from the bar were great as well. Will definitely be a must visit every time we’re in the city. Can’t wait to go back.
Warm, welcoming, eclectic decor greet you as you walk in to Gato. The staff was just as welcoming and helpful with the wine and the menu. The octopus was flavorful and tender and the pork loin chop we tender and huge. We really enjoyed the bottle of Israeli wine that the sommelier recommended. Overall, another great Bobby Flay dining experience!
