Will definitely be back. Everything we ordered was good to excellent: cocktails, appetizers, entrees, coffee and dessert. The staff really made sure we had a great experience, bringing my wife and me soup in two cups rather than one bowl (without us requesting) simply because they knew we planned to split our appetizers.
I have been to Gaslight many times in the past and had a great experience, so I was disappointed recently when I brought my family (from out of town) for brunch and we were basically ignored. I am not sure if they were understaffed, but the staff that was there were running around like crazy, and our table didn't seem to "belong" to anyone. The person who served us kind of acted like she was doing us a favor by occasionally stopping by to see if we needed anything. People sitting around us sat down after, got served food 10-15 mintes before us, and then left before us. I was embarrassed because I had told my parents what a great spot it was. We then had to flag down a server when one of the orders came out incomplete.
My favorite restaurant for brunch. And free parking!! Noise can sometimes be excessive. Yesterday there were several graduation parties, so noise; but it's often somewhat noisy. Still my favorite. Love the food; love the service.
Great waiter, took his time with me discussing/tasting the perfect wine for my date. And he did not disappoint! Gaslight has a great energy; although it was a bit loud at the start of the day (place was packed), but it was much better as customers headed out for the night.
Being a 22 year old sometimes I am undervalued at “upscale” restaurants; this was not the case here and both me and my date had a great time.
A great wine list and menu options. The food is always top notch and the prices are reasonable.
We have been coming to this restaurant for over 10 years. This is the first time that service was really bad. We didn’t even finish our plates and this woman came to empty the table. We felt hurried and the restaurant was empty. When we got there the music was so loud and inappropriate for this establishment. We are not sure whether things have changed or it was one off. I m not sure will be coming back.
Amazing food, attentive and thoughtful service, ambiance felt like we were back in Paris. Our server kindly moved our table for us due to a strobe light situation and they made it happen without hesitation. Can't wait to go back!
Disappointed.....made a reservation for our daughters graduation from grad school. Called in ahead to see if it was ok to arrive 20 minutes ahead of schedule. They replied... come on over we have plenty of space. We arrived 20 minutes ahead of our reservation... plenty of tables empty. They sat us in a corner table for 4 people when our reservation was for a party of 5. We couldn’t fit!! We went back and spoke to the host and explained the situation. They said that they couldn’t accommodate us, we would have to wait. By then it was time for our reservation (and again, plenty of tables empty) we inquired as to why couldn’t we have one of those, they said no, those were already reserved... so I guess our reservation did not count?). To make a long story short, we searched for another restaurant, found a reservation within 15 minutes and had an amazing dinner AT ANOTHER RESTAURANT in a comfortable table with awesome food!! Don’t count on these people or their customer service skills!! They just don’t care!!
It was great last time we were there. This time my friend had chicken and then there was a piece of plastic in it. They even rushed to serve us entrees before we were done with our appetizers. Great atmosphere but careless and poor service.
Great food and spot! Good service. Decor is very french, great aux for music but a bit loud.
Celebrated Anniversary with an early Mother’s Day dinner before going to Broadway production. Atmosphere was terrific, food excellent and service polite and efficient. Great venue to enjoy with that special love one.
We had a wonderful time here on Mother's day. The food was delicious and are server Richard was great.
Loud since it was Mother’s Day brunch.
Service was perfect, even with full restaurant in a holiday.
Food as awesome as always.
I have been to Gaslight many times for diner but this was our first time for brunch and it was equally as lovely. The food tends to be rich but they were wonderful about modifying the dish for my dairy-free diet which makes me a HUGE fan. Thanks Gaslight. We’ll definitely be back.
Music WAY TOO LOUD
Delicious food and great service but the music was quite loud and not really on vibe.
Absolutely lovely service starting from the host (Isaac) to our waiter and the bus boys! Food was delicious and service was prompt and attentive. We had a great start to Mother's day with a brunch at Gaslight. Highly recommend the restaurant and they even validate parkinng for 5 hours, so you can take a stroll around SoWa market after your meal.
My only complaint is how close the tables are... I feel like I had dinner with the couple on their first day and the two girls who were really mad about dating apps. Seems like they could eliminate one table from that long stretch of tables and give everyone a little bit of personal space. Food was great!
Nice and cozy place. The menu selection is not too vast. Food was good and not too expensive. We were there on a Saturday and wanted to try the Sea Bass, but they were out of it.
My vegetarian entree of ravioli with fava bean and peas was excellent . They also modified the dish and replaced the Creme sauce with a nice and light broth and i enjoyed it very much . My family ordered the sea bass which was caught fresh the same day and was very tasty . They also ordered a dozen oyster which they also loved
The dessert of chocolate molten was out of this world the only disappointment was the French fries which was all broken in small pieces and difficult to enjoy . The fresh and hot baguette was out of this world
The tea bag of Japanese stench’s was very old and had no taste ( probably expired)
Overall the food was excellent and the service was good but not outstanding as they forgot to bring catchup as we were almost done with broken fries and bringing silver wear for dessert and not wiping the table between each course .
An amazing brunch!! The food was so good and we had a lovely time.
Fast service, good food, & nice atmosphere!
Excellent meal and impeccable service. The pace was perfect- we were allowed to relax and enjoy our night out without being rushed but never had to look for our waiter. Perfect night!
GasLight is great for brunch - the food is great (esp the croque madame) and the free validated parking is very convenient. It is also a great value. Also the art galleries down the street are fun to explore afterwards. I don’t like GasLight as much for dinner - the food was just so-so. Ambience was nice and moderately quiet.
Food is gr8!
The service is always amazing and second only to the food. My 2 year old loved the French Toast. My wife and I love coming to gaslight so we were thrilled that we got a nice quiet booth and an wonderful server.
My college friend and I live on “opposite shores” in MA. We were looking for a 1/2 way meeting spot with great food, parking and reasonably priced!! We found it at Gaslight! We both agreed that with the delicious food, great service and ease of parking, this would be our “go to” meeting spot from now on!
Excellent meal. Fantastic service
I have been to Gaslight a couple of times and I usually go to Gaslight for dinner for special occasions and always enjoyed my time!
We really enjoyed the mussels, tuna, Benedict.
The only dish that was underwhelming was the Escargot and Steak & Eggs. My boyfriend and I really liked the Escargot when we were there for dinner but it tasted different for brunch. Overall, I’d much rather go for dinner rather than brunch because the dinner menu is has more unique options (and the five you bread!! Love their bread!!)
We’ve been here a few times for dinner, but not for brunch. We decided to try it out before going to the airport - definitely a great decision. Our server, Jess, was super knowledgeable about the menu and did well explaining everything. My wife and I each got the pork hash - perfectly cooked with a little bit of kick that adds flavor. I had mine with fries - a good choice because the fries are cut in house and are delicious. My brother has the Parisienne crepes - another great option.
We definitely will be back!
Although we had a reservation, we had to wait 45 minutes before we were seated and a wait for the wait staff to initially greet us at our table. Food was delicious and we enjoyed it but it was pricey considering the food content! Also had to wait a long time at the bar to order drinks. The restaurant seemed a bit disorganized as if it was opening night! Still I would recommend that you dine here as the food is delicious!
We had a wonderful meal and server. Some in my group are not easy to please but they loved everything except the noise level.
I rarely am able to say all of these things about about Boston restaurants, but, the staff, service, drinks and food here are fantastic! I will definitely return - many times!
Pam was awesome!
The food was absolutely delicious. The service was excellent. The music was a presence, but not overwhelming. Our waitress Pamela was wonderful and had a great sense of humor. The three of us thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
Decent place for dinner.
For the first time, we had a really terrible experience at Gaslight. We will never eat here again if we have any time commitments. We told the restaurant that we had tickets to a show at 6:30 pm (about a mile away from the restaurant). We made a 5:00pm reservation and arrived early. By 5:50pm, we had only received our salads. At 5:56, our entrees were served. I was unable to finish my entree which was not good. I had the chicken with roasted fingerlings. The chicken and potatoes were soggy the spinach was really garlicky and the whole dish was over salted. After running out of the restaurant and not finishing, we arrived at the theater in time to watch them close the doors and lock us out for the 1st 15 minutes of the performance. Gaslight used to be one of my favorite choices in Boston. I am extremely disappointed by this experience.
The brunch menu is limited but delicious. I had Eggs Benedict and my partner had Steak and eggs. Both were very deliciously sauced. My only complaint was the noise level. There were quite a few large tables of people brunching, which led to many elevated voices trying to talk over each other. Since the tables are close together, it was almost impossible to have a conversation.
