Sad to see it go 😞💗
I’m sad to see the Gaslight close.
So sad Gaslight is closing!
Reservation wasn’t received by gaslight despite open table telling me I had one
Amazing! Love it!
My dining companion and I are frequent guests at Gaslight. We have not been there in some time and usually we are there for dinner on weeknights. We decided to try the restaurant for brunch. I made a reservation and there was no issue there. We sat outside due to conditions at hand. The hostess was gracious however seemed put off when I requested a table closer to an outside heater.
I was surprised to see that the outside seating area was not swept to remove leaves and such. Also it took over 20 minutes for the wait staff to acknowledge we where there. It seemed all tables outside had some delays in service.
The food was fine, not as good as their dinner menu. The waitstaff was pleasant, however there were long delays in seeing them in between requests or even having my credit card processed. The dinner staff is much more attentive.
I still recommend this restaurant for dinner. Some kinks need to be worked out for brunch/lunch service.
We had brunch with friends outside on Saturday and it was very good.
Service was top notch. The food could have been a little warmer on arrival. It was chilly on the patio but that's not the restaurant's fault. No propane heater can keep the cold away on a windy day.
We had omelettes, a Croque Madame, hamburgers and Benedict. All very tasty.
Our server was fantastic. We sat near the front door, please let him know. Food was great and everything was quick but not rushed.
Been to Gaslight many times for brunch, so thought would try for dinner. Was disappointed. Food was lackluster, as well as the service. The patio was fabulous to sit in though. My specialty drink was delicious. Will continue to go for brunch but not again for dinner.
Service was extremely slow and our food was good and dry. Not the same experience it used to be.
It was just ok. Service was ok. Fruit was overripe. Food was just ok.
The service was extremely slow! Out server disappeared for 20 minutes and we tried to ask other servers to bring us just one spoon but we were ignored by them!
I ordered veal and my friend ordered duck confit. Unfortunately, meat was barely warm..
I took a while to clean our empty plates from the table.. capacity is limited and didn’t seem extremely busy or smth..
the bottle of water was served in the end of dinner..
Little mouse running across the tables was epic..
It was a very slow night for them and I felt we got extra attention because of it. Thanks for the great food and service!
We had a lovely dinner on the patio. It was cool outside, but the heaters made it comfortable. Service was excellent.
We only saw our server in the beginning and to collect our bill. We waited at least 30 minutes from the time we finished our food to get the bill, which was from a different server we had to flag down.
Wonderful service. They did a great job integrating high glass dividers between booths into the decor and followed all protocols perfectly. The current menu is a "greatest hits" from both Gaslight and Cinquecento.
Three of started with cocktails and shared the burrata. My cosmo tasted like triple sec, not Cointreau as I requested. My husband’s rye old fashioned was great. For entrees we had salmon, steak frites, and branzino. Salmon and steak were delicious. The branzino came as 2 very small tail filets which were overcooked. The Swiss chard accompaniment very salty and bitter. A lovely ending of espresso, chocolate espresso martini, and coconut cake. All in all a great meal and wonderful service as usual.
We we very disappointed with the aloof inattentive service from our waiter. Food was mediocre, however the manager did happily replace eggs that were very overcooked
Gaslight has a wonderful romantic French bistro vibe perfect for a celebratory occasion dinner out.
This food is well prepared, perfectly seasoned, and each dish is wonderfully intriguing for the palette regardless of how ‘mundane’ the item itself might be.
Highly recommend for anyone looking for an elegant evening out to get cozy with their loved ones.
Make sure to leave room for dessert, the bread pudding and beignets are scrumptious
Great date night spot! Highly recommend the roasted chicken. Service was quick and friendly, and overall a great atmosphere.
6 of us Went to Gaslight for dinner Friday October 23 for a birthday celebration. Dan the manager made us feel so welcome and prepared a special table! Very enjoyable experience!
We came here for our anniversary and sat outside on the patio. There was light music playing, the food was fantastic, and our waiter did not rush us at all. The bolognese and escargot never disappoint, and the duck cassoulet was also delicious. Not our first time and gaslight and will not be our last!
Charming French bistro with very good food and service. Went for brunch on Sunday, sat inside. Distancing hurts the ambience a bit, since you don't get the cozy, hubbub feeling. Only real complaint is that they had no dessert available. Have been quite a few times and would certainly go again.
We’ve been enjoying our brunch in the last 2 months in Gaslighting. The food is really good and we like the location and overall everything was good.
Service was slowww. Charcuterie board was tiny portions of everything. Hard to share. Food and drinks were fair.
Wonderful!
This was an excellent place for outdoor dining. They seemed understaffed as host also cleaned tables. I personally thought host was amazing in all the duties he was doing. Food was excellent and ambiance was on of the best in the city.
Very disappointing!
We went to Gaslight on August 1st and had an excellent experience, which we expected because we had been there before. Went again tonight for my wife's birthday and were very disappointed. The service was slow; it took forever for them to even take our order though it didn't seem that busy. The appetizer (beet salad) was quite good, but my wife's entree (veal Milanese) was overcooked - dark brown outside and dry inside - it looked like it had been deep fried. When she said that to the wait person who delivered it, he did absolutely nothing. Instead he offered to take the remaining beet salad, but when I asked him to box it up, he refused. "Your server will be by to check on you," he said and left. And then we waited some more. Eventually I went and got the maitre d' who did take care of us, and they comped her meal, but the replacement (branzio) and my meal (moules fritte) were kind of uninspiring. We decided that we'd skip dessert given all this, and paid our bill, but the maitre d' lost our parking ticket instead of validating it. He found it on the floor and said it had been validated, but it wasn't - $25 charge at the parking lot. Fortunately the parking attendant remembered us and comp'd the parking ticket. SO - we didn't really get ripped off because so much was comp'd but we went for a great meal to celebrate a milestone birthday, not to spend 2.5 hours waiting on mediocre food.
At one point I asked what was wrong, had everyone recently quit, and he said yes. It's sad so many restaurants are struggling during COVID and so many have gone under; Gaslight has gone under too, it's just they haven't closed yet.
Our waiter was working both inside and out and seemed to be overworked. Trying to get our check was like dining at a European restaurant -- maybe that's not a bad thing!
Nice outdoor patio with plentiful heat lamps! Great service.
I feel like the quality of food has gone down at Gaslight since I came a year ago. I understand COVID has made it difficult for restaurants to operate and all but it feels like this isn’t the super exciting luxurious place this was a year ago. I wasn’t very impressed.
Our first indoor dining experience and it was really fantastic. Plenty of room, great food and friendly service. Will be back.
Extremely underwhelming in every way! Very disappointing!
Slow service, good food.
It was great. Could you start offering waffles and/or pancakes for brunch? Thanks from a loyal customer
Great service and food. Don’t like the wine glasses. Sorryyyy
Food was okay, nothing inherently bad about it but a lack of flavor profiles, everything was overly salty to make up for that. Crispy artichoke salad was nothing more than deep fried artichoke hearts served in a bowl full of grease. The halibut fish was cooked perfect but again everything was just overly salty. Service was not good, friendly staff but we couldnt get a glass of wine and the assisting staff (food runners etc) either didnt speak English or just werent allowed to take drink orders. Outdoor seating was nice, but overall I would skip this place
The restaurant has a nice patio with ample shade and heaters, though we did not need them during this brunch outing, in mild weather. The free parking is an enormous plus.
Food was very good but the service was a bit lacking.
This is my boyfriend and I’d new favorite date spot! The atmosphere is relaxed yet upscale, amazing menu options, and the quality and amount of food you get for the price really can’t be beat for the area! Plus there’s complimentary parking.
