Gasho of Japan
Gasho is the original Authentic Japanese Hibachi Steakhouse on Long Island.
Great fun for the whole family.
Best hibachi restaurant in town
By far the most disappointing experience I've ever had. Over the years the quality of food has depleted, and so has the service . The tables are very small which makes you feel as if your sitting on top of the person sitting next to you. Normally this would have been doable yet our waitress only came over to take our order and then disappeared leaving the empty cups and plates to be stacked around one another when there was barely any room to begin with. The food tasted like absolutely nothing. The rice was supposed to be fried rice yet it wasn't cooked long enough, was hard and half of it was left white. The waitress as i mentioned previously, only took our order then disappeared and never came back leaving us not only with dirty plates but with NO DRINKS while eating our disappointing meal. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE & I WILL MAKE SURE TO SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT THE DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE I HAD.
Great lunch for groups
the host to a long time to even talk to me.... I got there 10 mins before my reservation n she didnt speak to me although I tried to get her attention till 28 mins after my reservation time and then still had to wait 15 more mins after that to be seated. the cooks here are always excellent and entertaining although this time he tried to tell me that bean sprouts were noodles n cooked a bunch of bean sprouts n threw them on my plate.
They completely forgot about our entire hibachi table. We got appetizers before we got our drinks. This place is just terrible the service is terrible it’s over priced just don’t waste your money find a better hibachi place
We went for valentines, we had an awesome time.
My wife loves this place, and we generaly eat here once a month or so. The service is generally decent, and the Hibachi Chefs always bring smiles to my daughters face with their singing, jokes, and tricks. This time we waited an hour and a half for the cook, with 3 small children complaining of hunger, and a waitress who completely disappeared for 1/2 hour at a time. When the cook finally showed up, there was no singing, no jokes or interaction with the children (one whose Birthday it was), No Onion Volcano, or any fun tricks. To get the bill and see that gratuity had already been added for awful service and a bad expierence all together makes this almost insulting.
Great time food fantastic
Great dinner spot
Love having business lunches there.
Great food cooked hibachi style. The chef put on a great show The food was tasty and we will be going back again real soon
Fantastic lunch spot
My 56th birthday
Consistently very good
Loved it. The chef was hilarious and made our night.
I was there for my birthday. It was ok. The experience could have been better. I’ve been there before and I’ve had a much better time in the past. This time the cook wasn’t as fun we were a bit on the bored side. The waitress was too busy (which is understood as it was a busy night), but she wasn’t attentive, entertaining, and caring of her guests. The seating could definitely be better. Our party was a bit too stretched out. Overall, it was an “OK” experience. I’d go back. Maybe that night just wasn’t a good night.
We have been coming here since we are kids! They have done nothing but improve each year. They are hands down the best Hibachi place around. We drive over 10 exits for their food, local Hibachi does not compare!
Great for business lunches
Great Hibachi food in a fun atmosphere. I recommend this restaurant highly
Food and service were both excellent. Definitely recommend it to anyone for an excellent meal.
Great for business lunches
It was a great experience!
Great for entertaining customers
Very nice place for family gathering. Whether lunch or dinner, you won’t be disappointed.
Great for business lunches.
While the chefs at other tables seemed to put in good shows, our chef was very subdued. He didn’t make it a real experience, which was a shame because it was my fiancé’s first hibachi experience. As a result, he didn’t really get the true sense of why I wanted to go there, but he got to see others experience it. The other people at our table all said the same thing. What a shame. I am going to try a different place rather than go back :( The food was delicious though.
The food is the Best Japanese Hibachi tasting food in the area. Very good service.
So rude and condescending. The food is way below average.
This is a great place to have some food and entertainment while being served. We have been there when they first opened. Still great give them a try. When we were there there was a Birthday for a youngster going on.
Service was great and the person cooking the food was funny made us laugh
Always a fun time with great food at Gashos! This time in particular, I had a 9pm reservation and when we arrived I was quite concerned with the amount of people waiting to be seated. Gashos surprisingly pulled it off & had everyone seated within minutes! Highly recommend!
Don't waste your time. I made a reservation for 7, confirmed according to the email the day before. We walked in to the restaurant a few minutes before our scheduled time and proceeded to wait another 15 minutes! The restaurant knew we were coming, the restaurant doors were open and tables set (no customers) and no one was there to greet us. I called and got voicemail the first time, the second time I was hung up on which I later realized must have been by the manager that was SLEEPING in a van outside the restaurant. We went to Izumi (highly recommend) instead, which was the closest Hibachi restaurant. They accommodated our large party and made my nephews birthday a special one. It's unfortunate that whoever is in charge at Gasho is so unprofessional as to not greet a party that was on their schedule, let alone have someone inside the restaurant. At least lock the doors if you're closed and cancel reservations especially if you know it's for a special occasion.
We have been going for years, food fantastic, ambiance great. Service top grade , would recommend this restaurant to family & friends. Concern about the parking lot, needs repair.
It was Mother’s Day. Upon are arrival 15 mins early for our reservation we checked in and waited. There was a sign on the door that stated due to the holiday there will be no dessert served, which I thought was bologna. We than waited over an hour to be seated. When we were seated we were not even asked for a drink order for another 25 mins. When we did get the drinks and order our dinner it was once again an hour wait before the hibachi chef to finally appear at the table. They have many table in this location but it appeared there was only 5 chefs working. The entire experience was awful. I would never recommend this place to anyone.
First of all we had a reservation and still waited an hour to sit , but it was even funnier that because it was Mother’s Day they felt the need to jack up the prices & rush everyone through there meal and not offer dessert .. we spent a total of 3 hours 2 of them waiting to be seated and waiting for food . Won’t be going back any time soon
Food and atmosphere were very good, and chef was a fine performer.
Drinks had very little alcohol in them.
Terrible experience. So completely disappointed as this has been one of our favorite spots for Hibachi. We ordered Chickn Tempura and it was completely inedible. It was like eating rubber the chicken was NOT fresh! Also the restaurant was flooded and we asked for the pools of water to be cleaned up so none of our family members would slip and fall and nobody paid any attention to us. The bathrooms were also FLOODED.
In the past we had a great time, we usually make a reservation of 10 or more. The chefs usually entertain the guests, especially when there is children. However, this experience lacked the excitement we usually go for. The food was great, always is. However, the singing, the spatular/knife mini show, tossing broccoli, etc was nearly nonexistent. In addition, our group who ordered frozen drinks complained there was no alchol in them - paid $10 each 😣
