Garozzo's Ristorante - Overland Park Ratings and Reviews
Been to this and other locations. The signature item was over done but the other dish was fantastic. Have had better service there but it was not awful. In fact it was still better than most in the area.
Heavy on the garlic but to be expected. Portions we're large. Even for a big eater like myself. Wine list was a little overpriced for the basics. Saw a $32 Malbec I've seen for $10 at the local grocery
The food was exceptional. My wife and I enjoyed our meal and were quite satisfied with our meal. The prices were quite reasonable. The service was great. Our waiter was attentive and we never had to ask for anything. I would recommend Garozzo's to anyone looking for a place to take their loved for a wonderful night out or for a family gathering.
We went on a Sunday night and the half price bottles of wine was a great incentive. I had the chicken Spedini (three way) and it was delicious with plenty for leftovers the next day. We had a drink in the bar before dinner and the bartender was very warm and friendly although my Cosmo was too sweet and I think he forgot the vodka. Our waitress was efficient but totally lacking in people skills. Still, I'd come back any day.
We decided to try the Sunday lunch buffet for the first time. The choices were perfect with both delicious breakfast items and Italian choices like homemade meatballs and chicken spedini; Their specialty! We are so excited to find a delicious breakfast buffet that can also be a yummy brunch. One of the most delicious places to enjoy Italian in Kansas City… Go and relax…
I was with a group of 6 and had made reservations through Open Table. We arrived on time and had to wait a few minutes for our table. This was our first time ever to this restaurant as we were trying it during Restaurant Week.
We were severely disappointed, and actually quite taken aback, when we our large group was seated RIGHT NEXT TO THE FRONT DOOR. They pulled 2 tables of 4 together and there we were put. The ambiance was horrible. We could see deep in the restaurant how much cozier it looked, yet here we were.
I had to ask the hostess, by just leaning over (that's how close to the front door we were), to shut the front door due to the draft (it was a very cold evening). She gave me a look of disgust before begrudgingly closing the front door, never saying a word. I was once again taken aback, this time with the hostess' attitude.
The food was very good and our waitress was very nice and did a good job, however that did not balance out how we were made to feel when we first arrived.
Filet had a sauce that was incredible spicy. First taste was sweet then frightfully hot. So much so that unable to enjoy the steak. We were seated in a corner, right next to the emergency exit. Not a good place for a relaxed comfortable seating. They did redo the steak but since this was not the description in the menu it gave us pause as to why they were coving up an expensive cut of meat.
We went to several restaurants this week (4) and unanimously decided that Garozzos was the best. Their food was excellent and the same amounts as any other time. The house chianti is always perfect. Their service was great even though they were very busy. They also have a great ambiance and location. We can't wait to try their brunch! Thanks for always being great!!
This was during restaurant week. I have always loved the food at Garozzo’s and this time it did not disappoint. They had many choices for each lunch course, the portions were large, and it was excellent food. Jacob, the waiter, was very friendly and quite knowledgeable. He went above and beyond to explain the choices and describe the food. Such a delightful young man! The dining area was crowded due to the special occasion, but the food arrived hot and in a timely manner. This is the best place for Italian food!
We consider trying something else but can never pass up Chicken Spiedini Samantha, our favorite. The house salad with blue cheese crumbles and the Italian “butter” dipping sauce with their warm bread. Portions are big so we always have Spiedini to take home. Very comfortable and enjoyable dining experience.
We made the lunch reservation for the Restaurant Week. However, when we arrived, the waiter made us have their Sunday brunch by not bringing us menus nor greeting us. We observed other customers came after us, and found out that waiters would not offer the restaurant week menu to customers until the customers demanded to see one. The food was as plain as average school cafeteria lunch. The experience was very disappointing. We won't return to this restaurant.
Really disappointed in our trip to Garozzo's. Our food took an HOUR to reach the table. Our server had a few tables in our section, but the restaurant was not so busy that the kitchen should have been backed up.
No apologies either. Won't be returning any time soon.
We went here during restaurant week but ended up ordering a special the waiter suggested, a little of several dishes. We were both glad we did, excellent flavors and mix. The wine was excellent as well. We stayed and talked for hours, literally, and the wait staff was gracious and checked on us occasionally but we never felt hurried. This was a real treat.
